The C4F Cup -November 2025-

Posted: Sun Oct 26, 2025 10:20 pm
by cataracs
Since the division system is boring, I'm creating a better competition. One team will be crowned champion at the end of the month.

To win, you have to be active almost daily, get great results and have riders for all kind of terrains. And of course, have a bit of luck.

There are three rounds:

The first devided into two groups (was gonna call them the Pros and the Plebs but nvm) The top tier teams, and "the rest".
The top teams are in 8 groups of 4, the top 2 from each group advance to the final round, while the other two move to Round2.
"the rest" play a little league where each tier 2 team will have to play against 3 different tier 3 teams(randomly). The top 32 qualifies to Round2.

Round2: the 32 qualified teams from "the rest" play a single elimination game and only 16 move forward. They"ll have to face the 16 losers from the top tier teams of Round1, in a best of 3 game. Winners advance to the final round.

Finals: The 32 teams left will play in a double elimination bracket system to decide one winner in the end.

Rules:
All the games are head to head
Round1 from Nov1 to Nov9. Round 2 from Nov10 to Nov13. Finals from Nov14 to Nov 30th.
Round2 and the Final game are best of 3. The pre final game might be best of 2 or3.
the top 20 riders in the race score the points, only first 3 from the team counts. (points are the same no matter the category or type=120-70-50-40-35-30-28-26-24-22-20-18-16-14-12-10-8-6-4-2).
the "tiers" are decided by the actual division ranking.
In round1 a win is 3pts, draw 1point and a loss is 0 pts. The ranking in round1 is decided by points, score, then direct confrontations.
if the team doesn't ride the day of their games they score 0 point.
in half stages the race of the better score counts.

Round1:
Top tier teams.

Group a: Tukhtahuaev/Narrenparty/RideforMoney/CreditPommes
Group b: Bugatti/FSG Sattelpuper/OLcycle/Medical Service
Group c: Black-Star/r FSCL/Chemnitz Pro Cycling Team/BeaconSV
Group d: Hansa/Radunion/Pokemonogatari/ATB - Racing
Group e: SouthWest Packers/Ansach/stevens/TDMLuxembourg
Group f: Alkworld/Falcor/Big Donkey/Romoc Riders
Group g: L RSV/Elaska/JapanNeutron/r TAKA
Group h: Dreizehn/SV Furpach/Schartner Bombe/Vives le velos

The rest.

All the rest that have at least 1 race this month and still have riders. (sorry if I missed some)

I support every competition and during the offseason, I agree that the divisions are kind of boring.

Proud of being the plebs! Just hope you really do the work here, looks time consuming

Do you weigh in the number of teams per race as well? Much easier to have three riders in top 20 with only 5 teams than with 20 teams, f.e. And as it is head to head but not necessarily in the same group, I think that could be a distortion of competition. Of course it is also important which teams you're riding against in your race, but that would be too much to weigh in. And hardly calculable.

Especially with the Andes on next month. I wanted to use the normal game points, but for tours it's less. But I suppose the points for the one day race cat1 can be used allover instead. it's somewhat unfair for teams ending up in 15+ fields, but let's consider that part of "luck".

I think I can't come up with a "proper" points system, so any ideas are welcome. if I weigh in the number of teams per race, it favors the teams rding in big fields, because for example in a climbing race Murdobek would win in a 10 or 20 teams field anyway, so he just get his points buffed.

As it doesn't affect points or money in the game anyway, just do it as it is easiest for you. Or most fun for you. That's my advice. Don't weigh points, just start with it see where it's going. Find out in the process what needs to be adjusted, if anything.

Simply don't weight.

in half stages the race of the better score counts.
meaning if you get 90 points in stage a and 80 points in stage b, you'll get 90 for the day.

Nothing happens. But will have to find a tie breaker in knock out rounds, in case inactives advance.

I thought ties would score 1 point and wins 3 points wouldnt that put poke and me over ATB with our great 0-0 tie? XD
In round1 a win is 3pts, draw 1point and a loss is 0 pts
2nd question how will you score the TTT?

Because of the many afk teams, only wins counting is more fair to the unlucky players that scores points but couldn't win, so I'll change that rule lol.

For the TTT the teams placement is considered instead of the riders.

Don’t get the hate here. He is trying to make offseason more interesting and even if it still needs to be adapted here and there, I really like the idea and the effort he is bringing in here.

Greetings from the evil side^^

Is this hate speech? Okay... then I'll post it right away!

I'm just adapting to his aggressive tone so he'll understand me!

The criticism should focus on why not everyone can participate in his sandbox game!

Is all of this normal, and should I just put up with it?
In civilized discourse, one asks who wants to participate or not. He doesn't need to ask me anymore, but perhaps others are still missing...
Do you think he's a victim?
If so, I'm probably really in the wrong place... sorry!
