Dwars now worked.


My newest recommendation to Luques is:

Langkawi (12)-23
Coppi e Bartali 15-19-22

Short explanation:
Langkawi doesn't really fit anywhere.... morning, doesn't have the teams for Catalunya-Classics-Langkawi. Neither does the afternoon. In doubt, the afternoon. Early evening? Wasn't a good idea to start with, stronger than both morning and afternoon, but 19-23 too close. Of these 3 probably afternoon the best, since otherwise only get's 2 stage races offered of 5 possible. And while I say it's the weakest, it's not really by much.
But, easy solution, switch Coppi e Bartali to the afternoon, there only Dwars parallel, sort of "make up" for the missed PN. Morning misses Coppi Bartali instead, has the PN-TA choice that the afternoon doesn't get. Like that solution. 14 in a way better, but already Dwars there, won't change, so 15 (for all I care 16 ok too, but then the office players are in trouble, since it's lateish)
Langkawi of course still doesn't fit anywhere...The problem is that it's not just about Langkawi, but about the classics and Catalunya too...One of the the morning petitioners says 12 would be doable, not perfect, but doable. What about the 2 others? If both Trekken and Kelme say impossible... ok, move it up one hour? Don't think a good idea to overcrowd the morning, but if they insist that much...
Anyway decision needs to be made... people want to put their form (even tough I have to admit that I would be shocked if somebody puts his form for Langkawi when there is Milano Sanremo...), so should be decided soon. So my recommendation, see above, the parenthesis means that if T+K say IMPOSSIBLE... ok ok. 11

At 12 would be possible for me. So this time would be ok for me. As i said in the afternoon i could ride. Only on friday its lunch time but i will see how that goes at that time. So i'm ok with this time.

On Drenthe? Don't think there's any -3 pavé there, but will check..
-1/-2 with pavé hasn't caused problems as far as I know.

At least somebody read the test report, good.
Instead of spreading misinformation just make sure you got the stuff you write right. It's not that difficult. *-4 is buggy. So is *-5. So is *-6. Free teams winning move come on a bloody *-4, you should at least have gotten that one right.


It's pretty simple:
*-3 or steeper downhill is buggy. We saw that until *-6 at Strade Bianche, we can assume that it's the same for steeper stuff. But we don't know for sure, maybe at one point it stops again?

Then here we have info that it's only on *. Based on what? It might be, but we can't really know from Samyn and Monte Paschi. Is that based on any races that had ** downhill and nothing happened or just a feeling?

I looked at Catalunya on http://www.voltacatalunya.cat/ and on https://www.cyclingstage.com/volta-a-catalunya-2018/ and it should be relatively easy to design.

Finished a very rough version. Going to do the following things tomorrow:
- Check if there are really no IS
- Check if HC-1-2-3 really makes more sense than 1-2-3-4
- Check for a few other possible mistakes
- Add more city names
- Decide if final course has +5 or even +6 (might be decisive)

Langkawi on

Cat 1 because: seems I proposed cat 1 to Luques, who didn't object (if he even looked at the proposal) and nobody complained about it here either. Used to be cat 2 when we rode it before, but in real life participation was much better than nowadays.
7 riders because Coroncina the designer made it that way. Could change, but reality 6 it seems, so the former inofficial "Luques rule" reality +1 seems ok after all.
