177 you attack, get away, but you lose +/-100 energy by attacking. So that energy is missing at km 178. Let's say before 177 you have 1000 attack, you have 890 before 178. Ibanez 1000 before 177, can't follow, -30?, 1 km tempo, -30? (not sure, but not more I think) -60, he has 940 before 178. So now he is stronger than you, he has 50 more energy.
Numbers just examples, but that's the principle.
Then yes alone. Irrelevant if you are alone. Has no effect whatsoever. Yes alone means: If you are in a group, you don't let anybody weaker than you in tempo. 5 man group, you are the 3rd strongest, you put yes alone, only 3 will be in tempo. (Unless the tempo is higher due to the mass bonus if all 5 make tempo) But yes alone doesn't make the tempo of your rider stronger. So when you are alone, it's the same as yes normal. (And yes with all, since you are alone....)
The only thing that gives you a boost is: Attack. But as I said above, it costs you more energy. Here probably by attacking a second time you would have stayed away, thanks to the attackboost.
So why did the other guy come back?
1) He had more energy.
2) You didn't attack a second time
Why did the other guy win:
1) You didn't sprint

Don't punish bugusers. We all have to use bugs, since most of them are declared as "features"!
Got a carrot from FL. But they threaten to take it away now.
