Cobblestone classics 2011
Tomorrow Het Volk/Nieuwsblad
Startlist: http://cyclingstartlists.com/2011/02Feb ... ad2011.htm
Nearly all of the best are riding apart from Cancellara, Ballan and Haussler it seems.
Sagan could also be strong in this races in the future but concentrates on Milano San Remo this year ( Tour of Flanders after that but without really good preparation for this race, we'll see).
Sky with Flecha (last years winner) and Eddy (Boasson Hagen), a strong duo and Eddy in a really good condition in Oman
Katusha with their strongest lineup ever for the cobblestones races in my opinion, maybe not in the best condition yet for this race though, a pity Gusev still seems to have "problems"
Vacansoleil with Leukemans and Devolder will also be interesting later this season
Keukeleire could be a threat this year also in the big races if he does a "step forward"
From the german point of view it will be interesting how Kittel and Degenkolb will cope (Klier, Burghardt and Klemme also of course but they are already more experienced)
The rest, no big surprises. Boonen, Gilbert, Cervelo-Garmin, Rabobank etc.
Difficult to name a favourite.. someone knows what kind of weather there will be tomorrow? Seems like it could be raining

One more interesting fact:
Rabobank to ignore radio silence at Het Nieuwsblad
UCI says race will be cancelled
Rabobank to ignore radio silence at Het Nieuwsblad
UCI says race will be cancelled
more details: http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/raboban ... nieuwsbladUCI president Pat McQuaid has reacted angrily to the news, saying that if teams attempt to use radios, the Belgian race will be cancelled and the results will be null and void, much like the first race of the Challenge Mallorca series earlier this month.
"If that happens then there is no race," McQuaid told NOS Sport. "Then we will withdraw our backing and the riders will not be insured."
"I'm an old-school sprinter. I can't climb a mountain but if I am in front with 200 metres to go then there's nobody who can beat me.” Mark Cavendish, at the 2007 Eneco Tour

Re: Cobblestone classics 2011
Great race in my opinion. Hopefully the puppets (or was it just Boom?) from Rabobank shut up from now on. Didn't seem like Langeveld missed the radio much but he should be one of the guys who had nothing against it anyway because of his way of riding.
Tomorrow Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne and the weather looks good, or bad depending on the point of view of course
