Disappointment of the Year 2010

Post by Lizard » Thu Dec 02, 2010 1:45 pm

Disappointment of the Year 2010
Every year the Radsportfreaks-Community finds together to decide which are the best of the best in our virtual cycling world. This year again we decide, apart from the best in the cycling world, who definitely was one of the worst all amongst us. The disappointment of the year is a negative award given for should-have-been successful riders with top skills that were hardly able to win a race.

How to:
Each user may nominate 3 riders. The 10 being picked most are going to be implemented in the final voting.
Nominations: 01.12.2010-15.12.2010
Votings: 16.12.2010-30.12.2010
Formalities: Please only one post in this thread per user, if you would like to correct your nominations then use the EDIT-function. Apart from that please order your nominations from 1-3 and (if you'd like to) put a comment for why the rider deserves to win the award.

Big Brian Anderson, former World Champion and winner of 31 races plus overall success at the Tour Down Under, only finishing 2nd at Milan - Sanremo, beaten by little Keenan O'Reileigh.

Why Spinat? Perfect training and average skills... why dissapointment? Just because he failed to become a cult rider???

1. I am not happy to mention him, but: Benoit Mandelbrot. 89-59-75-49-50, 54 Reg, TOP SKILLS, MUST WIN SOMETHING... but the mathematician obviously had some time issues so he could either not ride or not ride in field 1... then change to bergwerk, okay, some palmares... but seriously... with such skills he needs to win some huge races. Ends winning field 2 Vuelta, a pity for this great man!

2. Vincent Kruyckx: 76-81-49-49-61, great skills, okay, not for thaaaat long so far. But is 29 now and only won one stage and points classement at a totally unimportant tour in November so far. For this skills really not enough.

This vote is for riders, not for teams.
Well, it was only joking :-)

Mandelbrot? hm not really I think, his skills are good but not great at all (no sprint and many 89climbers that time i think), 15 stage wins, okay many field2 but field 2 Vuelta hm not soooo bad, and field 2 Amstel not that bad too, okay not a classic but better than a field 1 'Waldviertel Cup', some good results: Spih stage with 23(4?), Pais Vasco climbers jersey, 2 Dauphine stages and 2nd in generell? I think that there are much more unsuccessfull climbers here
Boaz Trakhtenbrot:
  • Winner Giro 2022
  • 10 GC wins
  • 16.609 Eternal Points

Toke Sarup

Strong Huber. But only one victory in a fantasy stage race. You can't count that one. Besides this, just some podium spots. Pais Vasco and Dauphine. BUT: Where are the big points? What about the GTs? With 81 mountain and 77 TT...

Mathias Hüberli
Ok he has won the vuelta. But is that enough for this incredible rider ? I dont think so.
Probably some time probems as well, but who cares. Super great skills and only one tour win.

Dürr would have been another favorite here, but since he recently got a new doctor, he loses the spot.

Breitenbach and Mullermann are yuor riders...Togheter 2 stage win.i think is very very poor result with the rider´s quality!

Mathias Hüberli would also be my disappointment of choice.

And at least I can't nominate my own riders :P
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.

Tobias Dachdecker

Incredible stats , 3 victories , 1 tour .. Ok the manager is not that strong , but even my grand ma could have won with him .

I won´t look at all statistics. I look first of all at the races i played myself.
So ist start with the disappointment of the year. The easiest for me...

1. Jasmin Tschepp: Definitve my big favorite for this...award. I´m a litte bit wondered that i´m the first one who nominates him.
2. Toke Sarup: Had bad luck sometimes. But anyway, great rider, but no great results.
3. Daniela Leitner: Okay, first of all because he was in the same team like Tschepp..

1 Diego Rivera
2 Oskar Schlömilch
3 Jesper Bergelmir

1: Alk-Rider, so of course he still won a fair bit. But with top values of 85 mountain and 66 TT more was expected. Won 3 tours, but all 3 unimportant, Due to Trueba didn't get a chance in the Vuelta and the Andes. Not a bad career, but...
2 Winner of the Andes 09, sold, then couldn't find a new team for much of 2010, found one for the Giro, but only finished 9th, with skills 85 and 66 TT.
3. 50-60-47-55-95 his skills, 27 years old, 50 races. 0 wins. 0 everything. Even with a manager like Sandow that's disappointing, a win here, one there comes almost automatically.
Kraftsystemrevision! Include the distance!
Basics reform: Give blue a chance!
Don't punish bugusers. We all have to use bugs, since most of them are declared as "features"!

NoPik was already used to his weak anden-field, of course a normal field, where he has no chance at all is a disapointment.

In conclusion of your other posts you should have voted here for one of the guys of your team, Allagen. Maybe a Findelkind because he was not that successful like all of your other helpers...
