I think we can have a calendar committee instead of just one planner and when the planner is off everything is off

Poke had again good ideas, but maybe hard to handle. But i want a place to discuss the Fantasy Race Calendar. So when we have a bad rotation or we have wishes, some advices we can talk here in the future.

My first month is done, so a short recap i my ideas of the calendar.
My fundamental plan is:
- Open for inscription for one week
- Better have splits then races with very less participation
- Variad race types, but more flat then other races

Sometimes i try a few new challenges for teams, for example the races 08.07, 09.07. ans 10.07. are Races for Sprint teams, but if you want to have a ahcnce for a MS all three day you need to coop with other teams or big reg teams.
So we made the full overview of the races:
01.07.: Hilly Race with hilltop finish designed by ECS and TTT Test race for TdF
02.07.: Full Flat Race +4 2 ks before the finsih but clear a normal Sprint race designed by Hansa
03.07.: Flat race with an early sieb km and one 6% 38 km before the finish line, so typical Sprint Race designed by OL
04.07.: Hilly Race, to hard for sprints, to easy for mountain rider typical classic win designed by OL
Real Race Flat
06.07.: Hilly race with a few easy Pave km, classic against 80-70 rider designed by Schartner
07.07.: Pave Race with 3km*** very close to the finish designed by TDM
08.07.: Full flat Race designed by me
09.07.: Flat race with some early short hills, last hard km more then 50 before the finish designed by RKL
10.07.: Flat race with early hills designed by OL
Two real races, both hilly
13.07.: Full flat race designed by Falcor
14.07.: Hilly race with two real mountains in the second half, to long to the finish for mountain guys designed by OL
15.07.: Flat Race with 4% last km, so maybe a attack or a Sprint designed by Falcor
16:07.: Hilly Pave Race designed by ECS
17.07.: Short full flat Race designed by me
18.07.: Hilly Race for classics designed by Tuk
19.07.: Mountain finish designed by me
20.07.: Full flat race desgined by me
21.07.: Light hilly race designed by me
22.07.: ITT and TTT Races designed by Schartner
23.07.: Hilly race with not that steep hilltop finish designed by me
24.07.: Full flat race designed by me
Two real races, both hilly
27.07.: Pave Race 4km *** then 10 km flat designed by Schartner
28.07.: Flat race with early hills designed by OL
29:07.: Hilly race designed by TDM
30.07.: Full Flat Race designed by me
31.07.: Hilly Race designed by Skyzr
All in all 26 fantasy one day races
Flat: 11 (42%)
Hilly: 8 (31%)
Mountain: 3 (11%) with the two hilly hilltop finish races
Pave: 3 (11%) one hilly
ITT/TTT: 1/2

Designers:
OL: 5 Races
Schartner: 3 Races
TDM: 2 Races
ECS: 2 Races
Falcor: 2 Race
Hansa: 1 Race
RKL: 1 Race
Skyzr: 1 Race
me: 9 Races

So we have good and many Designer, but most of the used races are from the far past or me. So i hope we got some more interestet designer. I try to chose everyone who design races.

Maybe we got some meanings here, i will be happy about some constructive feedback.

As we have 1 gravel race per month, I think we should have 1 ITT per month and 1 TTT per month (or every second month).
These "special races" should be in the B-program on days where an one-day-race is in the main program.
So they can be easyly avoided.

The rest of the fantasy program we can divide. the exact percentages can be discussed
40% flat
30% hilly
20% mountain
10% pave
This should be a rule of thumb and no hard rule. So that nobody can whine at the end of the month: "we only had 38% of flat races. the calendar manager is doing a bad job"

Great job, nice post (except that you steal my credits for the race on the 13th :p)

Maybe for the future you could additionally add to the monthly post what kind of fantasy races you still need for the month after so designers know what race type to design?

Thanks a lot Schappy for sharing your ideas with the community.

As I am not sure if you already know or use the tool, here is the link to it: https://cycling4freaks.de/c4f-3.0/calendar-tools

It's not only the map of races that is color coded by altitute or pave intensity but also a table view which is searchable quite nicely (in case you are searching for races by keywords and or designer etc.). It not only includes fantasy one day races but also fantasy stage races (which can be usefull in the off season).

Here to help if you need support with it or you have ideas on how to improve it.
