Le Tour 2026
Two weeks to go. The hype is building.
My fellow cyclingfreaks: ask not what the game can do for you - ask what you can do for the game.

Re: Le Tour 2026
Did anyone start with designing already? I could probably contribute somewhere around 5-8 stages

Re: Le Tour 2026

A bit weird to start with the final week, but those stages seemed easy to get done this week already. Rest of the final week will be done a bit later. Not the most details for the climbs, so I took what I got from drawing the route myself and it seems close enough

Saturday the Tour starts! We still have a few stages to design.

Re: Le Tour 2026
Had a quick look at stage 6 and saw that the final km is a 4. According to the official site it looks more like a 3 to me.
Will try to check a few other stages too, but not sure how much time I can find. Feedback from others is also welcome

Re: Le Tour 2026
Hi all,
I originally said I would help design, but due to a death in my family I didn't find the time nor motivation to do it. However I will doublecheck some profiles. Some thoughts:
Stage 1: Looks ok to me
Stage 2 last km has 700m à 7%, but the other 300m are dh and flat. Looking at the profile the kms for this looks like it's for the punchers, if Pogacar didn't go solo on the penultimate climb. I recommend downgrading the last km to a 5%. There is also a KOM km166 on the rsf design with no red kms before but a 10% the km after. Would put the KOM km167, and the climb is there is 2km+, 150m height gain over 2kms, so needs a slight adjustment there too.
Stage 3: Final climb is completely wrong according to the official tdf website. In reality we have a 200m height difference but in rsf we get to 240m. Last km should be downgraded to 5% instead of 7%. Only uphill, 50m height difference. Penultimate km looks like a 7% instead of 6%, second to last km seems like it might even be a flat (1-2%) km. Please re-check.
Stage 4: Looks ok to me
Stage 5: Looks ok to me
Stage 6: Last climb: Last 4km is never 6%, don't see where the 6% km184 comes from, should be orange or even black km there. Km176 should be 4% max, not 5%. Rest looks quite ok
Stage 7: km137 should be 4% instead of 5%, for 2 reasons: 1) It is 1.2km 4,4%, so rounding off should be 4% anyway, 2) with the insignificance it has irl, I would make it impossible to sieb there anyway, to get the most realistic scenario possible. Rest looks good.
Stage 8: Looks ok to me
Stage 9: Have to get back to work so only short final kms check (rest looks ok at first glance anyway): last km perfect, 4km before go down 10m too much it seems. I would suggest making km184 a -2 instead of -3.
No more time to check more for now. I trust that either Tuk did a good job on the other stages or other critics bash him enough to get more accurate profiles!

Re: Le Tour 2026
Tnx Falcor for checking:
Stage 2:
I disagree on the 3KOM, this is the climb:
The official statistics from the organization (A.S.O.) for this climb are: Length: 1.6 kilometers; Average gradient: 9.3%; Maximum gradient: 13%.
1 km 10% seems good to me, i dont understand you are saying the climb is 2km, i doubted to made it even 11%. Thats olso the reason i had the finish not 5% but 6%...i changed it to 5% now
Stage 3:
I adjust the final climb.
5% is to less i adjust my final 7% to 6%
The official final climb: The real finale kicks off in the last 1.7 km. From this point, the road rises at an average gradient of 6.5%, with several shorter, steeper sections exceeding 7%.
Stage 6:
Last climb is more off than the rest of my climbs.
I will adjust this, before 22:00 its done

First of all thanks for the designing work by the way, forgot to mention it earlier
As for stage 2, this is the cat3 climb and a bit before it:

As you see here, while the climb itself is only labelled as 1.6km, the road goes uphill for over 2km, with the blue part being a tough run-up that is not an official part of the climb. The total height difference over 2km is over 150m, meaning the total incline spread over 2km should be 15%, for example 7-8% or 6-9%. In this particular case, based on my expert finger measuring, it the height difference looks pretty even between km4-km3 and km3-km2, so a 7%-8% seems more accurate. In reality, with the slight downhill after the top in the same km still, the first km is probably even steeper than the second, but I completely understand the 2nd km having more impact here, hence I recommend 7-8.
For stage 3: I show another screenshot:

As you see, it shows the height difference "onder de vod", as we say in Dutch. We are at 1745m height exactly 1km before the line. At the finish, we are at 1794m, meaning there is a 4,9% incline, to be precise. This km should always be a 5%

Re: Le Tour 2026
Hi Falcor, that’s clear—thanks!
Stage 2 has been adjusted; the elevation gain for the entire stage is better now, too.
The final climb of Stage 3 has been completely revised: it is correct now.

I didn't have the time to follow all the discussion... Are discussions still ongoing? Or is everything final?
