Afternoon Post Giro Criterium in France 2025

Post by team fl » Tue Jun 24, 2025 12:00 pm

Giro is over. So what's left important in the cycling calendar in 2025? You're right, Lombardia of course. But what's that thing inbetween? It's the Post Giro Criterium in France! And as there is not much to do in summer anyway, let's ride that.

x1 Fürchtegott "the Fürst" Fürst, in France like a Fürst in Fronkreisch!
x2 Alex Aleilefaleula, in France for the Ciclamino (!)! (green red weakness)
x3 Calcedonio Cantagalli, in France for Alex although that didn't help much in Italy too
x4 Rik Ribbens, in France to finish a stage race for once
x5 Lautaro Lucifero, in France to be even more devilish than in Italy
x6 Manfred "Manni" Matt, In France to prepare for the spring 2026
x7 Quincy Qinnuayuak, in France because he was not in Italy
x8 Santiago Souberbielle, in France for flat stuff
x9 Yossi "Yoshi" Youshimatz, in France as a Swiss Army Knife

Goals: Waste even more money than in Italy. And scare the shit out of everybody in the GC with the Fürst.
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.

Will most likely move here, since 18h was too easy for us :p.

x1 Michael "Ice cold Mike" Redrocks, our Canadian leader with literal ice in his veins.
x2 Enno "Big Show" Oper, our Estonian leader and fan favorite.
x3 Magnus Jensen, our Danish dynamite taking a bigger role
x4 Thibault Kerken, our Belgian future Ronde van Vlaanderen winner
x5 Giacomo Sartore, our Italian debutant
x6 Michael "Iron Man" Goris, our Belgian motor, who only missed his first ever race for the team yesterday!
x7 Jordan Henkey, our pacemaker from Down Under
x8 Loïc Callard, our Belgian GT debutant
x9 Nikola "Kozo" Kozomara, our Serbian devil-in-a-box that will beat Alex for Green

Goal: see where we can get in a loaded field with our 3 leaders (Mike, Enno, Kozo) & hopefully get our first tdf stage win!

Another fact is some people know what's the Tour de France, but they don't know what's cycling as a sport lol. Stupid Giro with one mountain.

Donks here, his blue book did its job, so he know knows all:

1 A. Dixon: Leader with 86 mountain
2 F. Glück: Flat helper, 85 flat
3 É. Lachance: Second leader, 86 mountain,
4 M. Lanfredini: 60-80 with 62-85
5 N. Lüthi: Classic, 72-76 with 59 sprint
6 T. Onkelinx: Possible future 60-80 with no reg, 55-84 right now
7 C. Roy: 60-80 with 66-84 and lots and lots of reg
8 P. Taiaroa: Flat helper, 84 with 54 reg
9 D. Toulet: Sprinter, 80 sprint

Also going to Lille, in the pre-selection, and ready in case somebody has a positive doping test (false positive it would be):
P. Gallego: Future classic, 63-79 with no downhill.
W. Ganambarr: 60-80 pavé hero, 59-80 with 66 sprint
D. Kebede: Hill sprinter 60-78

T. Uru is has already booked private accomadation in Lille too, he's not in the pre-selection, so no chance for him to start, the organization wouldn't allow that we fear, but he really wants to ride the Tour it seems. So he will go there anyway, even if there's no chances to be selected. 75-75-70 right now, and his salary won't decrease enough anyway.

Goal is the GC win. If not, then at least a stage.
Kraftsystemrevision! Include the distance!
Basics reform: Give blue a chance!
Don't punish bugusers. We all have to use bugs, since most of them are declared as "features"!
Got a carrot from FL. But they threaten to take it away now.

Since it seems that we will have a 15h TDF the Alpacas most likely will join the party!

#1 Alessandra "Ceviche" Luna, trying to win her second GT and keep her undefeated streak in cat 4+ stage races.
#2 Caden Caradhras, main helper for the mountains.
#3 Aurora "AA" Aguilar, for the vibes and to help when she's not under reg.
#4 Spiros Galatis, maybe a stage win, maybe just another helper... Only time will tell.
#5 Kiko Vallejo, probably his last race for the team, so he wants to shine.
#6 Camilla Cortez, we don't know what to say about this one... She just hates training and DH.
#7 Isabel Ripoll, will join the team as a motivational singer.
#8 Mercedes Sosa, another flat helper.
#9 still undecided, the final candidates are Maximiliano Hernandez or Eva Peron tbd by field strength.

Goals: Waste money and try to win the GC with Luna, a stage win would be nice as well.
Alpacas > Llamas

It seems CircleCycle will join the afternoon too. So we already have

Alpacas - possible GC favourite with Luna
Big Donkey - double trouble with Alex and local hero Émile
CircleCycle - favourite grumpy afterooner is back
Falcor CC - Big Show and Ice Cold.
Schappy - Zuk and no regeneration for the win!
Team FL - princely times in the afternoon

Now we need more cannon fodder!
