Very slow connection, km-change, performance

Post by Rockstar Inc » Mon Nov 14, 2011 3:24 pm

Since roundabout 1,2 month i got the big problem htat in deciding moments of the race, for example Sieb-KM and the KM after the sieb or especially in the final 10,15 KM my connection to RSF is so damn slow...
sometimes it takes around 1,2 minutes to load the current race-km...
sometimes my settings like "tempo" or "help XY" don't work, it loads and loads and loads and finally i got a little red screen with the text "this task could possibly not be done" (English translation for "Dieser Befehl konnte möglicherweise nicht ausgeführt werden")

a single problem for me? or do some other guys have the same problems?

maybe too many tasks in special or important moments for the server to react and work properly?

Could be possible. Which time do you ride normally? At the moment not so many users are riding, so i´m not sure if that could be the problem.

in the last few weeks mostly in the evening or sometimes in the afternoon...

hmm, i rode the kharkiv tour in the morning and as far as i remember i had the problem in this tour only one time...

hmm number of users...--->server busy, too many tasks...maybe maybe

On the old server during the giro we had such problems. So user number could be a problem, of course.

I'm quite annoyed by connection problems as well since a couple of months. The problem is, that it's not really relevant since I'm always on crap wireless connections.

But still, when the chat gets refreshed and not the race, or when you ALWAYS have to click twice to give an order (first a red message, then it works), well, I think there must be a server problem.

During the TTT of the Andes it was bad.
Otherwise lately nothing special noticed, but that migh be since my connection is far from perfect even at the best time.

Yesterday, I had also problems with the performace after the Min-takt started. But I don't know if it is a connection problem or a problem of RSF...

problem is still there...some km before and after a "sieb-km"...it takes sometimes 2 minutes till the km is working again...

not sure if it's a problem of my computer or maybe something in the game doesn't work properly

some more guys with the same problems these days?

We have a problem on the 22h race.
Its not about the connection speed, but the whole page is "lagging", the scrolling isnt fluid, and when you write it takes time to appear in the bar... Is it because of the rain ?

Yes, maybe because of the rain.
Can you answer the following questions: Is the site the whole time very slow when you see the rain? Or only after a long time? And when you refresh the whole website, is the site immmediately slow or for the first time ok?
Thank you.

in todays race reloading was ok in the first half of the stage... than it begun to lag and got worse and worse, however refreshing the page, deleting the whole chronik and a different browser have been of no help at all, had the feeling it was especialy slow at "sieve km" wasnt able to do any settings for up to 3 km in a row... the race nopi talked about was on the very edge of beeing unplayable...

cheers deuse...

What do you mean with "lagging"? I think this are two complete different things your are talking about.

that's what i said since november last year...1,2 KM before a sieb and 2,3 KM after sieb-km the whole page laggs...reloading the site isn't possible...my tasks for the riders are accepted 1,2 later then i put them in...if they are accepted..sometimes the red warning displays "this XY may not be whatever.."...writing in the chat like FK said...Letter for Letter...breaks between the showing of the text

Try reload not so often next time. Could be alocal problem, too.

And as i said, the lagging page is could not be a server problem. Only the refresh problem.

Today I tried the F5 tactic when it got slow again. And it helped.

but please, stop this animated weather, it's confusing me ;)

Here too, towards the end (Sachsen Pavés 20hr) it's getting slower and slower towards the end. It doesn't take a minute to reload, but the red insert "Der Befehl konnte nicht übernommen werden" comes quite regularly.
