Falling away of riders with 0 Power

Post by Cerro Torre RT » Tue Mar 30, 2010 6:58 pm

Situation from today:

Zachary Pootoogook - Team Bearclaw - 44 mountain value - 0 power
Thor Mithra - Sandow - 57 mountain value - aproximatly 0 power (was at the end of the fiels)

Those to stayed in the peloton at a 9%

6 riders fell away, including

Reto Götschi - Cerro Torre RT - 46 mountain value - 130 power
Vukasin Rajkovic - Cerro Torre RT - 48 mountain value - 410 power

Fighting was Yes at least for Götschi, Rajkovic and Pootoogook.

It is not the first time i had the opinion there may be a mistake in here, but i never could find adecuate numbers to show that. But this one is clear. Powerless riders are much to hard to sieve.

I´ll take a look at this. Maybe i should integrate that powerless rider fall away in flat, too.

Seriously, that would be evil for sprinter teams in races where we only have 8 riders. Apart from that it would be nearly impossible to finish a GT with more than 6 riders when you want to get enough mass sprints to stand a chance for the green jersey given there aren't that many sprinter teams around like last year.

Great Idea, you will get many "yes" from teams who don't chase in any races...they aren't affected by such a change...the number will be very big, mentalita ticos is growing rapidly day for day...

Another thing yesterday during my race.
Arturo and Gabriel with the same energy when they start the hill (the first big hill, not the hill of the end), in the spanish race. Arturo did no tempo during the hill, and Gabriel did 3km in tempo alone on km, with all two kms. A the top of the hill Gabriel 930 energy, Arturo 940. :|

Why not? Maybe he was stronger and so needn´t lost so much energy. That should be correct. I would be borring if everything can be easily calculated.

Furthermore, tempo at the mountain does not cost so much.

Southern Sun Classics 16.04.2010

English forum...

Aber weils nur der Bugteil ist will ich mal nicht so sein: Wie steil war es? Hört sich wieder klar nach Mindesttempo an.

maybe its clever when the minimum tempo for a 46-mountain-400-energy guy is higher than the minimum tempo for a 46-mountain-0-energy guy ;)
