This morning i reset my team because i lost a lot of money from my participation in the TDF.

I created an auto-team and after going through the market i was suprised to find the riders i sold before the reset, as i didn't think they will be available in the market again.

Now that i sold most of my auto-team i lost money due to taxes, and after some reflection i found out that i won't be able sustain all the classics i have and i will face the same issue of losing money again and not able to participate in races unless i sell riders.

I would like to know if it is possible to force a reset of my team before i move to div5, and if it is not possible i would like to request my team to be deleted so i can create another one, even though i will lose my promotion to div5 which has a way better market.

Hansa told me the ranking should only take into consideration only the current riders of the team, if that's the case the ranking should show 671 points instead of 2890 points, hence i won't be promoting next month, although it is not ideal but at least i would be able stay in div6 and reset after 15 days, but it's an option if the 2 fist ones are not possible.

Thats the team he is talking about, he shouldnt go up to div 5. Not much time to fix.

Team name changed, now it's Team M, right now first place in D5, 2890 points, despite having 0 active riders.

Almost a month since this bug report.

What has happened?

Nothing it would seem. But maybe in the background the bug is solved? Just not retroactively for Team M? Nobody except Alk nows. In other almost as old bug reports we can see nothing has changed, in older ones probably too, but didn't bother to check.

9 days ago Alk wrote this in the manual thread on why he isn't the man to redo the manual...

1) Time: my time is very limited, and time used for something somebody else can do is not used for things only I can do.
2) We don't know all the details how the game works. This requires some shared knowledge by all of us. Code sometimes helps, but doesn't always help due to its complexity and the nature of software

Bugs would seem something that only you can do? If not, find a helper that can help you go through the code to find the bugs.

Like this long term it's just... depressing. Bug reports are not written for ones amusement, it's the attempt of some of us to help the game. "Volunteers, volunteers" is the battle cry we hear again and again. Bug reports writers answer the call and.. yes, nothing happens.

What should happen after a bug report is posted:

1) Answer by Alk announcing that he will look into it.
2) Alk (or Gipfel or AAD, don't know about their access, their division of work) looks into it.
3) If Alk is unsure how something should works he asks for advice (see number 2 of the quote above)
4a) Alk solves the bug
4b) Alk decides it's not a bug and leaves it as it is
4c) Alk agrees it's a bug but doesn't solve it (for whatever reasons, too complex, not important whatever)
5) Alk announces the result of his work here.

And step 1 should be done fast. Within 24 or ok, 48h.
After that of course this doesn't have to be done within a short time. See no 1, in the quote time is limited, he's busy with other stuff, wants to finish that, no problem. And if then after one month like now, we're still not advancing, others can send a remainder. But like this? We don't even manage to get step 1 done?

What's the use of even reporting bugs anymore? Because by not even doing step number 1, that's what we're told, don't even bother.
So we have this bug here that nobody knows what it is, we don't know if this Team M now will move up to D4 or be relegated to D6 due to no activity, the owner had to make a new team since he wanted to stay in D6, we don't know if this happens in other cases too, only in D6? everywhere? Something the manager did? Who knows.
We have perfect 21 year olds in the D6 market, where they shouldn't be.
We have other bugs (or suspected bugs) that were reported that got the same reaction as this one here.

The community is ready to help you here, we saw that when Gipfel opened a "list of open bugs" thread too. Some solved soon after, a short flurry of others reported there, but since there too nothing is happening anymore... reports are dying out. That doesn't mean there aren't any bugs...

Maybe Alk is doing step 2, I don't know. And that's the point. Nobody knows. Is it so difficult to keep us informed? A short "noted" would already be enough. The motivation bar we all have on our forehead would immediately go up! Like this? It's getting redder and redder, why take the time to figure out what a certain bug does exactly to be able to report as precisely as possible, to write a report if then you get greeted by a wall of silence and no activity can be discerned.

Timing was certainly not ideal in this case, but "unfortunately" it's summer time, which is the worst time of year when it comes to C4F development and admin tasks.
Fixing stuff is for me practically only possible while I'm at home on a PC, which now in summer was quite often not the case. Even now at home, there was little time left to be used for C4F next to family (long school holidays were invented to torture parents!), work and catching up from all the time away.
But the good news is that this will be better the rest of the year, with the little one at school, less traveling and more good reasons to stay inside. I assume it's similar for Gipfel (at least the not-having-time part) and currently the two of us are the only ones able to fix the software issues. We had offers for help, but the last I know, those potential helpers also didn't have the time to get into C4F development. And no criticism here, getting started actually is way harder than just continuing with the next fix.

Anyway, about that current issue: Is it about team points after a reset? Or after selling riders?

Look I understand time issues. And know you already worked a lot on it and still are. So if stuff isn't happening immediately that's ok. But just a short "Got it, will look into it when I find time, which might not be soon" would be already enough, if then in summer you don't have time for this until now, ok, that's the way it is....

It becomes a problem when there is no "noted", got it, just nothing, we're feeling like we're yelling into an abyss here.. (or at least I do)
Just schedule 5' for the bug forum every morning, check on your mobile, make a note for yourself, write "READ" in the thread, go your way. And when you find time, look at that note you made.

As for details here:

Reading what Casablanca wrote it happened after he sold riders.
He made a reset, then traded a bit, found out he was too expensive, couldn't do a reset because he had just done one, then sold his riders in an attempt to stay in D6 so he could do a reset after a while, can't do that in D5, so sell to avoid promotion. But the points stayed so he was promoted to D5.

There was another mixup between teamId and userId in the code. As a consequence, all the new teams after national teams were created didn't get their points updated when selling a rider. That should be fixed now. Rankings were recalculated based on rider points now. Team M was moved down to Div 6 again (no substitute promoted).

Takas points now didnt update, his season points are different from the sum of his riders points, should be fixed TODAY as its important for going up the division.
