Re: Designing questions

I got a problem with the map tool. Designing a track in Google Earth as usual, I saved the .kml file and uploaded it. No hight information, which is normal as the file just contains none, but so far it worked. What did not work is the length the stage editor calculated. In RSF, its 6 km shorter than in reality, and if I type in the correct length, the race ends at teh center of the earth. What is necessary here is a posibility to adjust the length manually. The editor than has to compare his calculated length with the one i typed in to set the mountain and sprint marks and to show the race progress correctly. As it is right now, it shouldn't be that difficult to implement that little recalculation.

The length works correctly with gpx files.
It should work with KML too, I must look the code and corect it if I find why.
I must say that I didnt test a lot the KML Files.

Maybe the best way is that you send me first the KML file, so I can test it.

If it's made in a free Google Earth version, the answer is simple: It's impossible as the .kml contains no hight information.

But you can add the height and change it to a gpx file.

Probably different methods to do this.

The RKL method (thanks to iBan)

Download http://www.gps-track-analyse.de/index.html
Download and install microsoft.NET framework 4.0 (the GPS track analyse needs that)
Run the programm: (gps track analyse)
Open the kml file.
Add height:
1 click Höhenwerte
2. click SRTM DAten zuweisen.
3 It shows you which files you need to download.
4 Download the files either from one of the sites shown in the dialogue, or from here http://dds.cr.usgs.gov/srtm/version2_1/SRTM3/ Unpack the files in a folder, always the same one obviously.
5 Click Prüfliste aktualisieren
6 Click SRTM Daten zuweisen
Then you can save the file as gmx, now it has height.
And, that's what makes this programm so good, you can use it to check the exact percentages, shows a nice profile, change the scale to see it more detailed, or cut it into 25 km bits (Track trennen) to see it better etc.
Kraftsystemrevision! Include the distance!
Basics reform: Give blue a chance!
Don't punish bugusers. We all have to use bugs, since most of them are declared as "features"!

I'd like to draw some running, but it tells me that my password is incorrect, I'm using the same one on which I access the game, why?

If you change it recently (sitter or something other) you have to wait until 2 days
