Post by captain ahab » Wed Jan 05, 2011 9:35 pm

are there any news out about that special race?(the legends race with retired riders...)

will it be only for the veterans or high division teams or open for anybody?(aka do i have to search in all the irish pubs for brendan and seamus and the rest?)

some questions are in my mind.

we need some facts about this beautiful tour. i would prefer that we can create a list of 9 old heros of our teams and then we ride this tour ;)

Everbody (with ex-riders) should be able to ride this race.

One question: Shall we only allow the race for teams which have 9 (or 7 or 8) old riders or is it okay to have teams, which ride only with 2, 3 riders?

Another question: Which values the riders will have? The best they ever had or the ones they had when they retired?
sprint victories:
2007: 33 (30 since buying licence in april)
2008: 54
2009: 36
2010: 47
2011: 34

The Fantastic Four: Ewen McBright, Perry Niclas, Aigars Cakls & Frederic Iatiknu

Yet another question: How do you define the ex-riders? Only riders sold at an age of 34+ who retired in the team or also riders which retired on the transfer market. Is it always the last team to get the rider or the team where he ride longest or where he made most of his career points?

The riders which you find in "old riders", which belong to your team.

They will have the skill they had as they retired.

first i though that we can create a list with the hall of fame of our riders with the best skill level of their life. for example a team with fuchsbaum, daniel lopez and peter leupold. but the problem is that they did not retire in my team and the other problem is, that a lot of old riders retire with very bad skills.

but okay, now we have the rules. so tell us something about the stages and is the salary for free?

Another Question...

A lot of teams, like me, renamed their teams but in the statistics you find them under your old team names...

What about that? Could I still ride the tour with the guys I sold when I was called differently than now?

Is it no extra race, is it? So we still have to choose if we ride the special race(s) or that of the regular calendar, don't we?

Buhmann said it is an extra race and we can ride another regular race with our normal team if we want.

Funny. Interesting. Maybe we can build on that for future possibilities of more than one race per day for big teams...?

i like the idea of riding with the hall of famer. perhaps we can ride once a year or a month a hall of fame race. and i´m not sure what is the best solution, to ride with retiered riders and the last skill level of the riders or a race with the personal hall of famer and with the best skill level. For Example, Fabian Fuchsbaum is a real Hall of Famer, started his career in allagen, went to quick steb at the end of his career, solt again 1 day before a 34 year old rider and retiered from the transferlist.

so he is not able to ride a hall of fame race but he is one of the famous RV Allagen rider in history. so i prefer the idea of creating a list with our personal hall of famer and send this list to buhmann. what do you think about that?

Absolutely nothing

Advantage for those who keep their riders until 34. Can't have Oesch, Zhou and Zeus, too bad. Could have kept them.

same here...only riders that retired in the team and with the values they had, when they retired...

the worst case scenario would be a rider that had sucess in more than one team, when two or more teams would start to claim that rider...

i am also for no salaray,no credits and no points for that race-just a little nostalgic race and just for fun

okay you are right. no salaray, no credits, no points. just a fun-race. Perhaps the winer of the traditional race will get some free lizencedays or something like that.

So I guess "Old Men Classic" is the one? It shows up in the race calendar, but it doesn't seem possible to sign in for it yet. My old men are really looking forward to it :-)

: In the middle of January we make a specific tour. Parallel to the normal races. The special of this tour is, that the teams which want to ride won´t play with his current but with old riders. Means: I will ride with “Marco Pantani”, iban with “Stefan Schneller” and so on. When the race starts and the profil will come soon.

ah okay, so it´s no old men tour, only a race? but the idea is still very good.
