New riders

Post by Robyklebt » Tue Mar 02, 2010 9:35 am

For new interesting riders, and if possible not form ones own team... if the new guy is good, other managers will see that too and post him here, if you're not important enough or the rider not good enough... spare us and don't post your newest star here :D

Robys picks for 21 year olds in March

-Carlos Gardel, Alk 55-74-79-56-56 36 reg. Very complete, has everything. Downhill and 56 sprint, if he trains that could be a real star. 1,813 the price. Very nice, Roby wants him!!
-Benoit Chellis, OL 56-74-51-60-66 49 reg. 2,263, very expensive, Roby doesn't want him! But he'll be Grandlac succesor, similar skills, but starts with 2 more in the mountain. Will be the leader, with his 66 sprint will be a typical OL parasite, will get his results, has the potential to become a better Grandlac basically.
-Gino Cutunio, Ariostea: 56-73-68-52-65 46 reg. No TT, so a bit cheaper, 2,065. Similar starting skills, but will become a different rider, will become the new Renti, 70+ with 70+ sprint. Note to self: Avoid Ari races if you want to win..
-Kjell Lindelöf, Kaju 55-73-77-47-45 46 Reg, 75,1 Pavé 2,295 Pavéstar for Flanders 11? Will be 34, should be no problem. If he goes up to 80 flat he'll have 80 pavé, mountain 70+ can be expected too. Will have to win solo with his sprint probably, but nice offensive hilly pavérider. The question, will he still be there in 13 months?
-Enzo Locatelli, LARAPANA, 53-73-56-47-66 46 reg. 73,3 pavé. Same thing, Flanders 11, less pavé, but winner sprint. Unknown team, new french team that has had good results, so get's mentioned here. Not sure he even realizes that he has one of the potential favourites for Flanders 11 in his team. So will see what happens with the training and the team, 2,138 the price, good I think.
-Didier Chatelain, ZL 73-54-77-48-46 51 reg. Good enough flat, good downhill, good reg. Nice rider, plus I like the name. Usually don't like ZLs climbers names..2,892 normal.
-Marijn Vandewalle,CCS 73-54-74-49-50 50 reg Same rider basically. 2,918, a bit more expensive, TT and Sprint slightly more. Both are close to the "standard" climber that Roby would buy if he doesn't look for something else (reg usually) for Roby that is 73-54-77-50-50
-Babacar Kolda, fresim 73-56-79-54-53 45 Reg 4 max skills, only sprint not, and sprint is close, only 3 under the max. Excellent. With his TT (that I expect will be trained) could become one of the favourites for the Vuelta, Andes and the rest of the winter. Tour at 25 already with chances too. 45 Reg enough, might need a good support rider though, but a young one is there already. 3,042 good price. The question is only if fresim will keep him long enough and if he does if he will be online enough.

Generally not that many young riders that I really like, saw no sprinter that I think is really really good either, some like Franconias too much Reg, others like Neutrogena not enough flat...

I agree with you Roby, Benoit will be a parasit (i want him without ITT because it's expansive, but that will be interesting in some cases to have the 60skill).

I want to put some guys to complete your list :

Hans Guckindieluft, coni-team 56/74/60/77/61 45(reg), whaou ! with a good training this guy will destroy a lot of tours during the winter, for sure !

Piedro Souza, Gismo 56/72/72//76/63 (56reg), the Souza Connexion. Not a bad reg skill. Interesting follower leader.

Ingmar Skagen, RP KMT 56/73/56/53/66 (39reg), good manager. Same profile than my Benoit, but maybe not the same aim in training ... We'll see. That will be hard for him to be a really offensive guy with this reg.

Gino Cutunio, Ariostea 56/73/68/52/65 (46reg), a good young rider, a good manager. Victories in few months.

Andreas Stauff, Franconia 50/56/70/47/82 (48reg) With Team franconia, a sprinter is always becoming a winner. Andreas will be dangerous, always dangerous in MS.

Julian Dattl, Hansa 56/74/69/76/48 (46reg) A monster, a young monster.

Mmh.. sure?

I think both lack sprint. And Caduff with 74,2 is far from the top Pavéskill, that would be 76,2, no? But ok, 73 flat, so he still has 77 hidden pavéskill.. still, not THAT brillant either..

They both need over-average training, especially Caduff is a typical helper I think.

Caduff, +15 Flat, which should be no problem in that huge timeperiod -> 84,7 Pave.
Ok, nowadays there are those superfreaks like Frick or Blaschykowsky, but that is still enough to fight for the win.

Mjölnir, not a brillant sprinter, yes, but you can win RVV without it. Colding, Stefansson, Scheichelbauer. Sometimes it's enough to be very, very strong, and Mjölnir has best prospects to become very, very strong. 65-87 like Eeckhout maybe, who knows now.

Let's see a bit how those guys developped...

Not the type of rider I thought he would become, but of course 64-85 is nice too. Already 2 wins, hate him. Kill him. Will never be a real star I think, but a very good support rider that can go for the win too, as he's shown.
As expected basically. 72-79, 66 sprint. No wins yet, but a few days in yellow and already 1700 points.
-Gino Cutunio, Ariostea: 56-73-68-52-65 46 reg. No TT, so a bit cheaper, 2,065. Similar starting skills, but will become a different rider, will become the new Renti, 70+ with 70+ sprint. Note to self: Avoid Ari races if you want to win..71-74 with 75 sprint. The expected horror rider. Already 3 wins and one small tour win.
The answer to the question is: No, of course Kaju sold him already in April. Got a new team in June. So now 61-79 with 79,3 pavé, not a bad rider, but not what he could have been. Now it's a good helper, for hilly races and for pavé races, nothing more. Could have been MUCH more.
Exactly the same, sold in April, 61-78 now, still 66 sprint. From a potential Flanders winner to a normal support rider, like Lindelöf. A shame. And in both cases the training wasn't really bad when they were sold.
-Didier Chatelain, ZL 73-54-77-48-46 51 reg. Good enough flat, good downhill, good reg. Nice rider, plus I like the name. Usually don't like ZLs climbers names..2,892 normal. He, very strong start, first 13 training took mountains, now 5 trainings nothing at all. Still can go up of course, still open.
-Marijn Vandewalle,CCS 73-54-74-49-50 50 reg Same rider basically. 2,918, a bit more expensive, TT and Sprint slightly more. Both are close to the "standard" climber that Roby would buy if he doesn't look for something else (reg usually) for Roby that is 73-54-77-50-50 Doesn't exist anymore and CCS stopped? A shame.
Sold after missing the last moutain training in April. 80 mountain and 59 TT 4+4 training with 21, above average, then 3+1 in the first 3 trainings in April, above average as well, taking risks, then misses one and bye bye. Boring.80 mountain and 59 TT beginning of 23 could still have become a 90-60... or a 86-60 or something. Which for example in the Tour at 14h would have been one of the favorites. But 1 training for too many managers seems to be enough to kick riders.

Generally not that many young riders that I really like, saw no sprinter that I think is really really good either, some like Franconias too much Reg, others like Neutrogena not enough flat...
Basically only 2 riders have really become what was expected, Chellis and Cutunio. Gardel other training than I thought, but successful, Chatelain right now ok, neither a failure nor a superstar, but at 25 he still can improve.

New riders in August:

Climbers:

Not a bad month to buy a climber actually. Will be 24 for the Andes, can fight for grey, then 30 for the Giro, 32 for the Tour and 34 for the Vuelta.

JhonFaber AlvarezBedoya: Poison Dwarves, almost a guarantee for superb training. 73-54-78-53-54 and 47 reg. Good rider, will he train TT or flat with 21? Very complete anyway, no real weakness at this point.

John Demong: Renault Magnum 73-51-78-52-56 49 reg. Very similar to Alvarez Bedoya. The flat a problem, but expect that to be trained with 21. Then good enough reg, very good downhill, some TT and 56 sprint.

Dion Frazer: Equipe Risque: 73-56-75-53-52 65 reg and 60,8 Pavé. Has everything, perfect flat, downhill good enough, TT one below the max, sprint good enough to have chances to win a climbers sprint. And 65 reg. Training flat or TT the question too.

Other climbers either to many weaknesses or in teams that are not in D1-4 and are not known enough yet. But all together doesn't really look like a great climber generation.

Sprinters

Karim Boudra, Elaska: 50-59-74-52-82 40 reg. Very good sprinter, 50-59 perfect. 74 downhill, good for recovery and for the -1 -2 downhill sprints too. Reg is good, TT 52 no problem.

Patrick Dawson: 50-59-78-56-82 with 36 reg. Perfect. 56 TT not necessary, but doesn't really hurt either, doesn't cost that much. Otherwise pefect mountain-flat combi, perfect sprint, reg good, 35-40 good, until 45 ok according to me. Downhill a nice bonus for recovery etc. Excellent sprinter.

Then a few other interesting ones, but those 2 just stand out.

Rest, classic rider etc somebody else can search..
