Crag is not a real first name in Austria, no boy was named Crag in the last 40 years here. So it is not a real name. Is it realistic? Well in this combination I would say no

It's more about the first name. If Gip/Alk can change the name to Craig then we can give the British/US nationality.

Hi Whisbone welcome back, in C4F naming goes by "first name- last name" " and not the whole name should be Capitalized.

But we will see what can be done about it.

As far as I know, it wasn't technically possible to use more than 2 upper case letters within the name edit line. Probably a check to add from admin side

The link you posted refers to another case that has nothing to do with poor Cäsar.

And I also don't get it. Cäsar is an existing first name in Germany and Schneller an existing family name. So the name should be okay, no?
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.

Updates I'd want as NC member:
Give us the possibility to reopen archived cases, to fix our mistakes.
Allow us to edit names to fix possible mistakes that users make.

Also. The names had a certain character limit in the past, and it was only allowed to use 3 upper cases I think? How do we handle that right now? Is everything allowed?

This is first policy, second tools. And the policy .. opposed! At some point personal responsibility comes into play. The people demanding a change of name more often then not are not newcomers, but people that should be aware of the rules. Yes the ugly names hurt the eyes of everybody else too... still...

Try to apply the revolutionary concept "common sense". Since it might not be as common as it should be in c4f, call it Donksense!
TaKahito TaKahara is obviously a "trottel"
JohnFrank O'Taka with 4 capitalized letters seems ok, well family name seems doubtful.

But getting back those restrictions seems ok.

I am for restricting it.

1) yeah you cannot avoid doing stupid names with 3 upper case letters but thats than just regular NC work
2) You cannot make meaningfull names with (many) more than 3 upper case letters, so not allowing it is decreasing the trottel rate, we also don't allow special characters like spaces (which for 2 first names would totally make sense)

What if someone calls his rider Sephan Müller and just forgets the t? We need it for this cases.

If somebody is too stupid to write Stephan correctly and check it, as it says when you want to name your rider, the "trotteling" is highly deserved.

Well, in my peloton I'd rather have a German Stephan than a no nationality Sephan.
The goal of the NC is not to punish people is it? I think we're there just to try and make the riders names look realistic. So the goal for me is to have every single rider with an ok name and a nationality.

You don't encourage people to check twice their names when you correct them afterwards. The guys that care will never make the same mistake again. They guys that don't care deserve many "trottels". Yeah it's the beauty of the game that is suffering too but I don't think setting names for them is a proper solution. What you do with all that nonsense names? Think about names that would fit to nation XY? Sounds like just too much effort. Imo there are no first and second level trottels
