Team of the Year Award 2010

Post by Lizard » Wed Dec 01, 2010 6:43 pm

Team of the Year Award 2010
Every year the Radsportfreaks-Community finds together to decide which are the best of the best in our virtual cycling world. This year again, we honor the strongest team of the year, that throughout these 12 months could impress by great tactics and glorious victories. Which is the Team of the year 2010?

How to:
Each user may nominate 3 teams. The 10 being picked most are going to be implemented in the final voting.
Nominations: 01.12.2010-15.12.2010
Votings: 16.12.2010-30.12.2010
Formalities: Please only one post in this thread per user, if you would like to correct your nominations then use the EDIT-function. Apart from that please order your nominations from 1-3 and (if you'd like to) put a comment for why the team deserves to win the award.

1 Robyklept/Petit Singe
2 Wookie
3 ...

1 Girowinner against Aldeia, Emiliawinner with Ivan against stronger climbers, Ivans win in canada with a great tactic... often with a less stronger team, but good tactics, well done

2 D1 the entire year. Great results, for example Zakarian at Emilia. A lot of good races.

3 still thinking...

RSV Gera (ehemals Hansa-Team)

Derrick Reynolds - Romandie/Dauphine/Tour de France/Anden/Emilia - Winner 2009 / 2. Giro + 2. Vuelta 2009

1 Hansa
2 Adler
3 Quick

Hansa, there the whole year: Won Paris Nice, the Flèche Wallone, 3 Giro stage wins with Mountain jersey, 3 Dauphinéwins with points and mountain jersey, 3 TdF stages and third in the GC, 7 Vuelta stage wins, points jersey and third in the GC and to finish the important part of the season, double Emilia-Lombardia.

Adler: 4 times D1 champion. 103 entries in the palmarès in 2010, that might be the most of everybody (didn't check all, just few, well, found Kwick with 113 now...) Don't think Adler is an overly impressive tactician, not bad, but doesn't stand out, think even less of him as a sportsman (if that's a word..), there he stands out, on the wrong side, but can't deny the team building skill he showed from late 2009 into 2010. And the team won a lot this year. What's missing a bit is the BIG wins, there is one, the Vuelta, the only GT he participated, won the GC and 4 stages. NOthing in the classics, a 3rd place in Flanders, that's it. And for one day races, that really was it in 2010, he didn't win any 1 day race over cat 2. Züri Metzgete (which still is worth something of course) his highest win. But for Tours on level below the top he was very convincing: Catalunya, Pais Vasco, Romandie, Tour de Suisse. Basically he only missed Tirreno/Paris Nice of the cat 4 tours, rode Tirreno and finished second. 4 of 5 rideable cat 4 tours (I hope didn't forget another one, no didn't forget Dauphiné, it's parallel to TdS) makes up for his weakness in 1 day races. Even though I clearly don't like the guy, he had a sensational year (and broke the Geldsperresystem too) and IMO a strong candidate for team of the year.

Quick: Just beat Ticos, Gaurain is right, in 5 months, and not really motivated months he still has a great palmares, Alkworld, Trueba, but not only, Lecce, there the whole year, GT with Ciganini, otherwise Corvia almost always in the race, Terranova with many wins and Giro points jersey, constant classics and Allagen, so that he wouldn't have to nominate himself. And there are others close too, but couldn't even get into my closer decision. francais, Gala, Wizard for example. Anywa, Quick it is, from Van Gaveren to Ysaye, most entries in the palmares this year very probably, still increasing. But it's not only Van Gaveren and Ysaye, Dewreede 8 wins with 46 sprint, his Pavéstar some wins, this guy some guy is just a win-machine. And while there is lots of junk, there are important wins too: San Sebastian, Hamburg , Plouay 3 cat 5 wins. Ok the 2 IMO clearly weakest cat 5er in there, Plouay and Hamburg. Cat 4 E3 (which IMO is worth more than the 2 cat 5 but that's me), and Piemonte. Lots of cat 3 then. The BIG win is missing, yes, but the quantity of the cat 4-5 makes up for that. Tours, less, Tirreno with Van Gaveren, then mostly stages. The only thing really missing in Kwicks year is: Mangahn, he misses him very much and wants his daddy back  Ah, no.. GTs, 0 GTs this year, some stage wins at the Giro/Tour/Vuelta would make the year stronger, even if the overall win number would decrease a bit. Not even necessary to have a GC rider, just a few stages, maybe a points jersey or something.

Surely say quite the same as the Singe

1. Adler : most successfull team this year I think, Incredible teambuilding, unbeattabble in little Tours!
2. Hansa : Well, Roby said all... Actually, didn't find him really impressive. The only race I remember with him is Dauphiné (where his stagewins are due at 90% to my work). but ok, big palmares so he must be quite good :-)
3. Los Ticos : in a third of season, he won more (in quality and quantity) than 90% of the other rsf teams. LBL, Fleche, Het Volk, 4 Giro stages, Kshmir (where he wins everything exept one stage), 2nd in Flander and in Giro (where he would never lost if he hadn't lost 1 stupud min by being offline)... The most impressive manager ever on rsf deserves a nomination this year I think!

To my way of thinking, the best team, is not who win, because the team has much better, but the manager that win (a lot) with a regular team(compared to other teams)

these are my favorite:

Nopikouze
OLcycle
Demuth
Allenatore Italia - Manager Dainese OG 10 bronzo TTT
Manager SantiNelli WC 10/10 argento TT
Manager SantiNelli WC 3/11 6/11Oro TT
Allenatore Italia WC 9/11 Oro RR

1/ Petit Singe (not his assistant robyklebt!)
2/ Quick
3/ ...

Petit Singe because he's very very strong when he wants to be. Quick because he's able to win in a lot of situations. Third not sure yet, perhaps Ticos or Alk or someone else...

Would be cool, but Trueba can max have 31 wins in 2011.

1. Radler: Big comeback of the master, small number of riders, big success ratio
2. Robyklebt/Petit Singe: Beat Ticos in the Giro, Ticos was gone afterwards, good results in many classics
3. Quick: Always winning, even more often in important races

is that a question of skill? so the answer is allagen. simple question.

1) Allagen - simply the best. i did a restart a februar with 12 young riders, now 19 riders and a lot of victorys, in face of having the restart handicap. damn good. i like rv allagen. beautiful nice guy
2) Quick Step - one of the best manager at rsf, but his winning quote is not good (4,9)
3) robyklebt - is able to ride like a hero sometimes, but he likes to buy guys with a behinderung like no sprint or something like that. giro vic was nice

Allagen... nur so als Tipp. Quoten berechnet man so: 217 Erfolge AUS 1065 Rennen, also 217 GETEILT DURCH 1065... was ungefähr 0.2, ergo 20% macht.

ONTOPIC:

Team of the year:

1. Quick-Step .... best manager out there
2. Adler.. best team for a long long time
3. Alkworld.. very successful, Trueba rocked it.
