RSF Rider of the year 2010 award

Post by Robyklebt » Wed Dec 01, 2010 8:46 am

This year as well we'll have the awards. Well, maybe... I do this one as usual, the other awards? No. LCB the creator of the other awards inactive, Cerro who took over no time. Allagen did it last year, no idea who'll do it this year.... I'll write the things for the newspaper, but somebody else can open the threads etc. I do this one here.

Rules:

Same as always: Write down 5 riders, the 5 best riders of 2010 in your opinion. No need to give reasons, but of course giving reasons is ok too. But to make it simpler please post the comments under (or above) the list itself.

Example

1 a
2 b
3 c
4 d
5 e

a because he's cool, sexy fantastic, bla bla bla bla etc etc. Will make it easier for me to calculate the result.
And if you change your mind: EDIT your old post, don't make a new one.

Ah yes, if you know english, please write the comments in english, that counts for the notorius anti-english crusader FL too!
The ape then will order Roby to count all the votes that were given until Dec 31st 2010 23.59 CET. And announce the winner later on.

1Jean Coulieu
2 Peer Pils
3 Manuel Clausen
4 Christophe Monfort
5 Martin Tilling

Why did I write German?????? Translating everything now...

Hard this year, probably will edit a lot later, there's many who could come in.
Coulieu: 3 podium on the GTs, 1+2+3, 12 stages, won the 4th GT, the andes plus an important classic, Flèche Wallonne too.
Peer Pils, not the sprinter with most wins, "only" 17 and 3 point jerseys. But won what counts, Milano Sanremo, 3 Giro stages and the points jersey, 4 Tour stages and the points jersey and one Vuelta stage.
Clausen, Gent-Wevelgem, San Sebastian and Lombardia. 2 Giro stages to top it off. Enough for nr 3
Monfort, TdF with 3 stages, LBL. Nothing else. But the only one with a GT and a monument.
Tilling, just kicked Trueba out of the list.... Vuelta, TdS, Romandie, Pais Vasco, 1 GT and 3 important PT tours, California, Bayern, Oesterreich, still fairly important, but already much less, then a few things that he should be ashamed of even participating. But that's basically the managers fault, (of whom I don't think much anyway..) Despite the manager Tilling won a lot finally, including a GT.

1 Jean Coulieu - Siehe Roby, der hat noch Bergtrikot beim Giro und Punktetrikot bei der Vuelta vergessen.
2 Manuel Clausen - Siehe Roby.
3 Esteban Trueba - 46 Etappensiege 2010.
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.

1. Adrian Bonilla... Who else!!! Wins Lombardia 2009 ans Doyenne 2010... The only races that counts!!!
2. Yuri Gamov... Ok, I'll surely put him a bit under 2 but he's in my 5 for sure. GIro win, 4 TDF stages, Tirreno Adriatico!

1 Jean Coulieu
2 Manuel Clausen
3 Peer Pils
4 Yuri Gamov
5 Eric van Gaveren

Coulieu - Top results in all GT's plus Anden. Just the Giro title is missing. Emilia or Lombardia would have made it a "almost" perfect season too.
Clausen - Gent-Wevelgem, San Sebastian and LOMBARDIA. 2 Giro stages. well done.
Pils - A sprinter with guts. deserved to be mentioned here. Took part at the Giro and with good results. Plus Tour and Vuelta stage wins and for sure: MSR
Gamov - Girowinner with under 50 TT. And he won in a way which was just fantastic, against a strong Aldeia. Plus 4 Tour stage wins. And he won Tirreno, very nice. A offensiv riding climber. Some more good results are missing. But the Giro counts a lot.
Gaveren - Unfortunately he was riding during the winter and can't be really put into one year. But he was a dominating rider in his terrain. Must be mentioned here.

1 Jean Coulieu
2 Christophe Monfort
3 Peer Pils
4 Jaco Ysaye
5 Martin Tilling

1/ 3 podiums in the GTs, plenty of wins, and a monument
2/ A GT and a monument
3/ A monument, 2 of the 3 most important sprinterjerseys
4/ Several good wins, but not as important as the others. Plus, I don't like him :P
5/ A GT and loads of semi-important tours.

I tried to go for various rider types. There are other good climbers but no need to vote for them all, only the best deserves a place.
No place to vote for Terranova or Clausen...

1 Jean Coulieu
2 Jaco Ysaye
3 Lionel Terray
4 Emanuele Terranova
5 Yuri Gamov

1 No need to argue about this guy.
2 Extremely successful from the beginning, winning important stages aswell: Sebastian, Cyclassics, Melinda, Plouay, World championship. Incredible run.
3 Look for FL's post. Only he mentioned him before? Weird!
4 In the end: 21 stages, 8 points classements, dominating, winning Giro and Tour stages aswell as Catalunya GC.
5 Kicked Trueba out of the list, Gamov wins Giro, I participate, best Giro ever, fo shizzle!

I have to start a campaign against the votes just for the skills .. The palmares counts , not the skills !
Petit Singe: Aix croit toujours qu'il sera important dans le real life, RSF bah, pas trop ambitieux, NoPik a compris que il n'aura jamais le succes qu'il peut avoir ici en real life, alors il donne tout pour RSF!
