Maybe treason (by riding for SM Team most probably...)? One of the only things I know that you can lose your citizenship for. Or he has applied for another citizenship which does not allow double citizenship?
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.

That's actually a good reason to have it as a last name. All over the world, people are named after places and volcanoes have been significant to many cultures. So why not name a rider after a famous volcano?

Danke für die Info. Dein Fahrer ist in Liechtenstein sehr berühmt und ist schwer zu finden. Wenn du unzufieden mit dem trotteln warst, kannst dich gerne bei Leso melden und es selbst versuchen. Bitte Playboy

I have a suggestion: there could be a short remarks section when giving names to riders, esp. for cases like this, when clearly identyfiable names are not that sure at first sight without any background knowledge. In this case Playboys could have provided a link and puff, Hunsrück would have recognised him as Liechtenstein citizen without any problem, instead of reading an Italian name and deciding that's wrong for Liechtenstein.

I think this would make it a lot easier. If the remarks are not understandable, then there is still this thread left ;)
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.

REMARKS? Crazy? It works like this, no?
And if now the poor guy doesn't have a nationality for a few days and then gets it back it isn't a problem either.

Many names are not easy to find if you google after it.
2-3 min per name if its not a name lik matthew taylor or hans schmidt. it would make the work for us easier, if the teams have a thread or something like that, to make us source easier to find.

Then trottel the rider, the guy with the name will then come with the source here and you fucking untrottel the guy... nothing easier than that.

Plus of course there is no rule that says a name has to be real.... just in case you forgot :D
1. OK
The rider’s name is ok: it exists in reality or at least sounds realistic and thus fits to the given nationality. If three NC members click the OK button (names are visible on the list), the rid-er’s name is approved and will disappear from the new name list.
Means a name exists OR sounds realistic. Now how do you want to prove with a source that something sounds realistic?

I quote myself:
(...), when clearly identyfiable names are not that sure at first sight without any background knowledge.
That means not for every name, just for names that are unusual for a certain nationality but exist in reality, like Lorenzo Lo Russo for Liechtenstein. I think it would be easy to implement such an OPTIONAL remarks thingy. And instead of using forum and getting involved in weird discussions, accusations, etc. it would be just that step and would save some unnecessary efforts for both, the NC and the user.

LIke we could introduce a "put in the password" function when you do attacks, just to be sure you really want to do them:)

Hi,
I named a rider Edoardo Istieto. Istieto is a name of a place in Siena. Can you please put his Italian nationality?
