Tour de France 2022 - 22:00 - Late Evening

Post by Bear » Mon Jun 27, 2022 7:39 pm

Bearclaw Cycling starts here.

Most likely off for some days. But no problem. Will be an average team going for stages:

#1 Wil Ruprecht - leader for mountain stages and GC - 85-63-76, 60reg (100k)
#2 Jesper Börjesson - 53-76-77 (34k)
#3 Arnaud Demeester - Pavé leader and flat rider - 50-86-79, 83pavé (54k)
#4 Kay deWolf - flat rider - 50-79-77, 58reg (39k)
#5 Mikael Persson - young 60-80 - 61-77-78 (45k)
#6 Kalle Rovanperä - young sprinter - 48-59-78, 81sprint (39k)
#7 Joel Smets - flat rider and leadout - 49-85-79, 64sprint (48k)
#8 Roan VanDeMoosdijk - Pavé leader and flat rider - 50-86-79, 83pavé (53k)
#9 Brage Vestavik - Mini-classic - 67-77-77 (55k)

expected around 467k - might go cheaper...

Maybe I decide to make some changes. Twan still in the hunt but probably too old. Joel also could be a problem with 33years and Brage because he is just not very skilled. Danish Mads Korneliussen would like to join the TDF team and also Cas is in the mix because he is cheap. Or Mattia to add another flat rider...? We will see... for sure cannon fodder in the mountains

Hi,

the Galacticos will join. Probably with the best possible team - maybe even the new sprinter.

Possible offline times at the beginning and last week but still better than to miss the tour completely.

Final team lineup:

#1 Wil Ruprecht - leader for mountain stages and GC - 85-63-76, 60reg
#2 Jesper Börjesson - 53-76-77
#3 Arnaud Demeester - Pavé leader and flat rider - 50-86-79, 83,9pavé
#4 Kay deWolf - flat rider - 50-79-77, 58reg
#5 Mattia Guadagnini - flat rider - 50-86-79
#6 Edward Muggridge - helper - 51-77-78
#7 Mikael Persson - young 60-80 - 61-77-78 (45k)
#8 Kalle Rovanperä - young sprinter - 48-59-78, 81sprint (39k)
#9 Roan VanDeMoosdijk - Pavé leader and flat rider - 50-86-79, 83,6pavé (53k)

Joel probably downtrains... so better to take another 86
Brage just a weak classic... so I can just go without classic rider, will work more or less too... Mikael will be good enough.

My Salary: 442,147 (still high for the lack of classics. pavé riders are expensive, but fun...)

Results of Stage 2:

02.07.2022,22 :00 Le Tour : Le Tour Et. 2 : Roskilde - Nyborg: Flat Stage
1. 00:00:00 Andre Rascon (Rhodan Underdogs)
2. 00:00:00 Gjord Ryttersgaard (Rhodan Underdogs)
3. 00:00:00 Sylvain Dupond (Rennes-Bretagne)
4. 00:00:00 Hakon Brusveen (Vuvuzela)
5. 00:00:00 Moshe Levy (RS Coesitz)

Summary: Some teams off. Only Olaf with two riders in escape. He got all mountain points and will wear the mountain jersey for stage 3. He also came first at intermediate sprint. Also Coe sprinted with his leaders. Bearclaw control for the first part of the race. Later Rhodan and Rennes as well. In the end also Bearclaw again. Nobody tried to escape. Easy mass sprint.
That was another story. Rhodans train for Rascon looked very good from the beginning. The 8X sprinters on each other it seemed and far behind. Then Rennes made up a little train. With 200m Sylvain Dupond opened the sprint, Gjord following. Kalle also started to sprint at 200m and was far behind, dont know why, approx 985 energy and average form. He did not even got past these 5X sprint riders. Dupond got not really close to Rascon but overtook weaker riders without a problem. With 50m to go Gjord sprinted to second. Good day for Rascon. Stage win and on the way to green jersey already.

No stats this time... not really motivated. Maybe we have these stats in react someday automatically :)

Already 8 stages in the books. 3 stage wins for the Galacticos so far which is pretty nice but unfortunately won't change much in the fight for GC.
Alejandro after 2 stage wins and a good pave stage is 40 seconds in front of Mor.
How much more time will he need?
I don't know but it should be a pretty big amount. I am counting with about 3 more minutes.
The other GC contender Poke is already 1:21 min behind Otxoa and therefore pretty much out of the fight now.
Coesitz other leader Lavyan is just the helper and will have to fight to get on the podium.
For podium we also have Wil Ruprecht (Bear) in a very good position after a strong pave stage.

My current prediction:
1- Asrael Mor
2- Alejandro Otxoa
3- Wil Ruprecht
4- Ariel Lavyan
5- Geronimo deRazza

Green jersey looks a little more interesting with Rascon currently in the lead with 160 points ahead of Brusveen with 127 points & Otxoa with 97 points.
Both Rascon & Brusveen seem to be interested to win the jersey and especially Rascon looks like he has good chances if he continues to go for intermediate points. Not many classics stages so pretty much the only thing he can do. Otxoa will continue to come closer with that many mountain finishes coming up. Only problem is my team will get tired some day and might have to give up some of the upcoming stages.

Fight for red hasn't really begun yet. Otxoa in front with 15 points. Mahrez with 11 points behind him was the early leader but doesn't seem good enough to win the jersey. Today might be the first day we can see who might be interested to win the jersey. Otxoa will have to rely again on the points he can get on the last mountains. We will see if this is enough.

So far a successful but not very interesting race. The GC situation doesn't help for an open race.
But at least already more fun than the Giro ;)

I share most parts of your prediction, but I still think you underestimate yourself...

I guess:
Red: Otxoa
Green: Otxoa
White: Sotomayor

Top 5 GC:
1/2- Asrael Mor/ Alejandro Otxoa
3- Geronimo deRazza
4- Wil Ruprecht
5- Ariel Lavyan

I think after the mountains: nothing changed regarding GC. Otxoa was able to take more time, it will be very close I guess.
Poke chances for red were going up, so I would add one of his mountain guys (whoever he takes to go for it) will ride for the mountain jersey too beside Otxoa. Green will be a nice fight between Otxoa and Rascon I guess. Favo on white now Hunter of Vuvu - I guess if Vuvu goes for him, there are high chances he keeps it.

Well GK didn't change a lot the lasts days, I don't see how Coe can lose it, so the goal will be to get as much stage as possible, but 4 for the moment is already nice.

Now:
1 x RSC Spree
1 x Idéfix
2 x Bearclaw
2 x Rhodan Underdogs
4 x Pokemonogatari
5 x Los Galacticos

Only Vuvu, Olaf & Coesitz without stage-win so far... GK more or less a fight between Mor and Otxoa now - but you never know what happens.

Fight makes it sound like there is a real chance to win... With under 2 minutes of advantage & just 3 mountain stages left that is pretty much impossible to get another 2-3 minutes. Also deRazza now stronger than Alejandro so probably I'll have to be happy with the 5 stages that I already got. It is pretty nice and now trying to win at least green jersey somehow. Maybe even red but that seems hard considering the better form of Geronimo.

Maybe some other Galactico can win a GT stage from an escape ;)

Good tour for my finances at least. That is also worth something :)

Ít´s over when we cross the finish line at Les Champs-Élysées. Until then, I will be careful, especially with such an experienced manager. So you can see it as a compliment :) And please: let´s not talk about money
