Tour de Suisse - 18h

Post by flockmastoR » Mon Jun 07, 2021 11:04 am

8 teams participating at the 18h edition of Tour de Suisse. Young gun Taavi Tamm (GUDE LAUNE) uses the race for the preparation for the TDF. He also has big support by Dave Robinson (84-60-71) and Siegfried Schwerdtner (82-67-68). The captain of Hansa will be Jonas Kreuzer with 85-51-76 and 58TT having Jochen Metzing as helper and second thread. The very hilly second TT can make things a bit different too, all in all Tamm looks to be the favorite for that stage. waerl comes with the best climber in the field and a very good support by young climber Kiabcoc, and a very good 70-80 combi that looks strong for the next days. All of these riders have good sprint skills making them great stage hunters in the intermediate stages to come today and tomorrow. Sam Brand (Fau Cycling) can also be an interessting candidate with 60TT and good flat skills, depending on how the intermediate hard stages are riden he can have chances as well.

Stage 1:
No big surprise, Franz Schwackhöfer can win the first ITT and wears the yellow jersey. We will see how long he can stay in front. He is for sure not ready for such a hard profile but he will nevertheless fight.

GC standing after 1/8 stages:
00:00:00 Franz Schwackhöfer (Alive And Dead)
00:00:30 Simon Zudrell (Jäger-LeCulture)
00:00:33 Konstantin Pilz (Jäger-LeCulture)

Days in yellow:
1 Franz Schwackhöfer (Alive And Dead)

Stage wins (Riders):
1 Franz Schwackhöfer (Alive And Dead)

Stage wins (Teams):
1 Alive And Dead
Boaz Trakhtenbrot:
  • Winner Giro 2022
  • 10 GC wins
  • 16.609 Eternal Points

Stage 2:
Was not seeing the whole race, but looked like a nervous begin with groups and high tempo from the start. As I showed up there was a 3 man group with 2 Freudes and 1 Hansa who were riding for the mountain points and not having a big gap to the peloton. In the end the +9 +10 8km to the goal split the climbers and Taavi Tamm was distanced. Sam Brand (Fau Cycling) took over and forced some attacks until step by step each climber was distanced in the flat finish. He won the stage solo getting some time to the other GC contenders. Franz Schwackhöfer was able to keep the yellow jersey but lost some time to the climbers.

GC standing after 2/8 stages:
00:00:00 Franz Schwackhöfer (Alive And Dead)
00:00:46 Taavi Tamm (GUDE LAUNE)
00:01:01 Sam Brand (Fau Cycling)

Days in yellow:
2 Franz Schwackhöfer (Alive And Dead)

Stage wins (Riders):
1 Franz Schwackhöfer (Alive And Dead)
1 Sam Brand (GUDE LAUNE)

Stage wins (Teams):
1 Alive And Dead
1 GUDE LAUNE
Boaz Trakhtenbrot:
  • Winner Giro 2022
  • 10 GC wins
  • 16.609 Eternal Points

I really would love to have Sam in my Team - but this great Rider belongs to Fau Cycling.
Taavi couldn´t keep up with Sam at the mountain - Sam really seems to be in great shape for the TDS, even if his manager is mentoining he is not here to fight for the GC... by the way, Taavi is only here to have a beautiful view on the swiss alps ;)

Stage 3:
5 man group with Remo Grass (Jäger-LeCultre), Robert Lafondu (Team darsseul) and Danil Wassiljew (Freudenfeuer) who stayed in front after the pullers quit their work. In the back GUDE LAUNE, Alive And Dead and waerl were riding for yellow, the GC and their chances in a classics sprint. The gap was constant at around 8mins for a long time, after some hilly km the tempo was forced in the back but the group could survive with 2 Seconds in front of the bigger classics group. Remo Grass could win the sprint in the group and win the stage.

GC standing after 3/8 stages:
00:00:00 Franz Schwackhöfer (Alive And Dead)
00:00:46 Taavi Tamm (GUDE LAUNE)
00:01:01 Sam Brand (Fau Cycling)

Days in yellow:
3 Franz Schwackhöfer (Alive And Dead)

Stage wins (Riders):
1 Franz Schwackhöfer (Alive And Dead)
1 Sam Brand (GUDE LAUNE)
1 Remo Grass (Jäger-LeCultre)

Stage wins (Teams):
1 Alive And Dead
1 GUDE LAUNE
1 Jäger-LeCulture
Boaz Trakhtenbrot:
  • Winner Giro 2022
  • 10 GC wins
  • 16.609 Eternal Points

Stage 4:
Just a 2 man group with 2 riders from Jäger-LeCultre were attacking at todays medium hard stage. Freudenfeuer started to chase and soon tempo in group and peloton was out again at 3min gap. 50 km to the finish Nöbauer and Detreköi from Alive And Dead were attacking and hopping for a sleepy peloton. But it soon was clear this is not the case. Hard chase immediatly with no chance to bring the riders to the goal first. At least Detreköi ended in the group with Wolfowitz and Schwackhöfer and the group was able to get back to the front group after the last downhill. A last km attack trial of Wolfowitz failed and in the final sprint Jack Robinson (GUDE LAUNE) won.

GC standing after 4/8 stages:
00:00:00 Franz Schwackhöfer (Alive And Dead)
00:00:42 Taavi Tamm (GUDE LAUNE)
00:01:01 Sam Brand (Fau Cycling)

Days in yellow:
4 Franz Schwackhöfer (Alive And Dead)

Stage wins (Riders):
1 Franz Schwackhöfer (Alive And Dead)
1 Sam Brand (GUDE LAUNE)
1 Remo Grass (Jäger-LeCultre)
1 Jack Robinson (GUDE LAUNE)

Stage wins (Teams):
2 GUDE LAUNE
1 Alive And Dead
1 Jäger-LeCulture
Boaz Trakhtenbrot:
  • Winner Giro 2022
  • 10 GC wins
  • 16.609 Eternal Points

I was mainly on the app and won't check stats from past stages as there seems to be no interesst here. Franz was able to win both TTs. Didn't think he has a chance against Tamm in the second hilly TT. But was just riding 100% and was not fit at the start today. Anyway 2 wins and several stages in yellow was good enough for a stage race without beeing able to ride on laptop at all.

GC standing final:
00:00:00 Oscar Gomez (waerl)
00:00:22 Jochen Metzing (Hansa)
00:02:28 Taavi Tamm (GUDE LAUNE)
Boaz Trakhtenbrot:
  • Winner Giro 2022
  • 10 GC wins
  • 16.609 Eternal Points
