Tour de Suisse - 10h

Post by Alkworld » Thu Jun 07, 2012 6:32 pm

Team Alkworld is looking forward for a nice, competitive Tour de Suisse and almost can't wait for it to begin. The line-up will be very likely the following:
1) Pablo Picasso - already a famous painter, looking out to be a famous cyclist as well
2) Eliseo Alberto - he's also fast in Switzerland
3) Facundo Cabral - pretty scared of the downhill sections at the Tour de Suisse
4) Joaquin Camacho - a bit scared of the mountains, but likes the descents
5) Miguel Cervantes - not expecting any windmills to fight in Switzerland, therefore should be able to win here
6) Esteban Echevarria - the cheap guy, doesn't feel like home in Switzerland
7) Antonio Narino - will be busy doing the usual: work
8) Oscar Romero - just loves the downhill sections at the Tour de Suisse
9) ?
Well, no idea who'll be number 9 here. This will depend on who else signs up here. Possible cadidates are Tupac Amaru, Juan Montalvo, Jorge CarreraAndrade or even Miguel Otero.

The RV Zahna is also on the start, with the following riders:

1) Nikita Saidov
2) Ilya Kljujew
3) Kasim Ganiev
4) Timur Alijew
5) Horst Krempel
6) Prosper Merimee
7) Fabian Eberle or Jacek Moryc
8) Djalil Hidirov
9) Justus Billig

Let's see what's in the GK is possible.

A really long and tough first stage today with a big group gaining more than 10 minutes, but then only fighting for the mountain jersey (which in the end went to Picasso for today). In the final climb there were the three obvious favorites Picasso, Saidov and Müller. Picasso was really lucky then to block two attacks by Saidov and another one by Müller and could easily win after his own attack 3km before the finish line. There also has been some movement in the GC mostly because of BsgExtreme being offline for the whole race. He missed out the chance to gain at least a minute on all the other classic riders with good TT skills.

Therefore the Alkworld favo check for the GC looks like the following:
***** Kostelic (TheDreamTeam)
**** Targaryen (BsgExtreme)
*** Breukink (ONCE-Team), Cervantes (Alkworld)
** Kljujev (RV Zahna), Yeah (PankoTeam)
* Prüm (Team Suessem)
Kostelic has a really strong team and excellent TT skills, Targaryen also with a good team, but didn't use his chance today to gain time. Cervantes, Breukink and maybe Kljujev might be able to gain time on the flatter stages, but are already behind Kostelic. So let's see what really happens now :-)

We'll see ;). But i'm not favourite i think, i made some errors today in the last hill. It doesn't matter, i just want to learn before the TDF.

Those are of course only my two cents. Everybody feel free to renounce your role as a favourite ;-) Actually I forgot to consider the regeneration skills in my favourite check. With that in mind, Breukink, Targaryen, Kljujev and Yeah might even move up a little bit, Cervantes and Kostelic a bit down, as there is another difficult stage after a hard TT.

And that went still pretty badly ;-) The 2nd attack was pretty useless, as I attacked with the wrong rider, where barely anybody was hanging. This was costy in even two ways, it extended the gap by 30s and it weakened Eliseo. And only a little bit was missing in the end. Next days will be better, I promise ^^

Alkworld passive worked a lot better today ;-) The combination 10-9-6 looked pretty steep for Alberto and Romero and they even lost 32s to the Kostelic group, but the two experts for chasing made the win for Cervantes possible. As that only happened on the last 2km, it was unfortunately no longer possible to launch some funny attacks.
My revised favourite check after three tough stages now looks like that:
***** Kostelic (TheDreamTeam)
**** Breukink (ONCE-Team)
*** Cervantes (Alkworld), Kljujev (RV Zahna)
** Targaryen (BsgExtreme)
*
Kostelic has lower reg than Breukink, but he also has three more in climbing, the better team and is the better TT rider. And going above the reg limit, wouldn't mean that he'd lose time on the following stage. Targaryen moved some spots down after being off on the mountain stage on Sunday and losing even more time yesterday.

Your attack was quite risky. If I attack with Alberto at the same km, Kostelic wouldn't follow, your two helpers would have been gone and Kostelic would easily lose 40s. So I guess you can help me win tomorrow's stage as well ;) But anyway, as it went well, you are one step closer to winning this tour.

It's getting boring. Stop whining and start fighting, this tour is far away from being over.

in my mind alk is right!
kostelic with still very good chances. tomorrow he can close the gap to cervantes and breukink and at the last two mountain-stages he could get yellow back ;)
