Giro 2011 - 20:00

Post by el Galactico » Fri Feb 18, 2011 1:52 am

Last year i was the first i guess...
So at least have to become second now.

Last year i had a great Giro with Luna, Astana, Steel Riders, Hypo, Strohhut, Neutrogena and Poison 20:00. My first GT and still the best one, even if i was not able to win a stage.

2011 i hope this Giro can beat the one from last year. Hopefully with the same friendly teams and the same action in the field.

My goals are a bit different from last year:

- win at least 1 stage
- win a stage with Callado
- GC Top 5 with Araujo

Therefore we builded our team the past months. With Sebastian Araujo we hope that we found the follower of Ben Gourgue with the same success.
Callado will 34 years old in May and we hope that he holds is actual skills up to then. One stage win would be great to make the triple of a stage win in every GT perfect. Problem will be his helpers, they are old at the moment and we have no followers for him, maybe there is the possibility to buy some from the transfermarket.

Nevertheless the Giro team seems to be nearly complete. (Changes have always to be expected):

1 Sebastian Araujo Climber and GC candidate then 25 years
2 Slevin McGuigan mountain helper, leader for classic stages then 32 years
3 Inacio Araujo classic rider, helper 26 years
4 ???
5 Arturo Sarrabal helper for light hilly stages 24 years
6 Joaquim Tigre flat helper, escaper 27 years
7 Johnnie Walker flat helper 29 years
8 Alexandre Geniez TTT+TT leader, flat helper 25 years8
9 Guilherme Callado sprinter, mountain helper 34 years

I really hope that nothing unexecpted will happen. So who will join me at the Giro in May??

I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I just don't fucking know if I am gonna to ride the Giro or not. Slowly it's emerging a certain tension inside myself. Will I be really able to let pass the Giro without me? I know it would be some stress for me connected with a partizipation. That's why I for so long felt kind of certain that I will take a journey through the alternative program with the prospect of short-termed commitments and varying starting times. But my heart... Oh...

The Steel Riders are back in action since march. So, they will join the Galactics and all the other teams, which are planning to start at 20h.

The goals for the 2011 GIRO are quite simple:
1. fun
2. Top 5 GC
3. win at least ONE stage
4. couple of days in maglia rosa would be nice (like last year with saban)

Team nomination is also easy. Take the best riders you have, that means:

1. Remilekun Ayodele; Climber and GC-Rider
2. Nnamdi Asomugha; classic rider and main helper in the mountains
3. Uikelotu Kemoeatu; classic rider and our sprint star
4. Dermonti Dawson; classic rider and gap closer
5. Jan Adamczyk; classic rider and gap closer
6. Waclaw Jelen; waterboy
7. Maurkice Pouncey; flat rider and waterboy
8. Arlington Highsmith; flat rider and waterboy
9. Kraig Urbik; flat rider and waterboy

Team salary totaly over the top.... 535.974 credits....

Hopefully I will not have to sell to many riders after this... or even to start from the beginning...

CU all at the starting line...
