Dauphiné 14 o'clock

Post by gaurain rx » Sun Jun 05, 2011 1:04 pm

Lineup for Gaurain... I have a tittle to defend (Maybe the best tour ever done by the team)... But not really the weapons to defend it!

1. Jurgen Bellinckx : Climber... Goal... actually don't know... We'll see how the rcae goes!
2. Gilles Cordaro : No Javaux, so Cordaro :-)
3. Jonas Deneve : Lowcost teammate nr 1
4. Rémy Gaïolle : Helping Bellinckx is his first... Going in escape possible for him too
5. Corentin Genez : Lowcost teammate nr 2
6. Jeremie Gorius : Lowcost teammate nr 3
7. Tom Legende : Lowcost teammate nr 4
8. Lionel Maréchal : The classic guy of the team!
9; Benoit Pauwels : Reg and TT guy

Cost : 421.250 (good on such a race)

So, Javaux (cost), Spiroux (other goals), Lodewick (not really a race for him) and prebuisson (hesitated to take him but controlling 1 stage completly alone after a big tt would be very hard) stay at home

Anyway, now here is my lineup for the Dauphine, as said before in another thread much too expansive, but cheap riders missing in my team right now:

1. Bamba Anderson (BRA): Third of this years Giro, the man to win the mountain stages and also a candidate for the podium
2. Dante (BRA): Candidate for the white jersey, but mainly here for helping Bamba in the mountains.
3. Igor Camargo (BEL/BRA): Here to make the team even more expansive, but maybe the man in need to help Bamba getting the podium, so he was nominated instead of Dombo. Also the iron lounge of the team.
4. Sladan Asanin (CRO): Reliable classical rider, (mostly) good enough to follow in the mountains and make tempo after a sieb. Anything but an iron lounge...
5. Ion Lupescu (ROM): Chaser in flat and hilly areas and man for escapes
6. Roman Kacza (CZE): Same as Ion, but a bit faster in flat and also a strong downhill rider
7. Alexandre Ciquinho (BRA): A man to finish high in semi-hilly stages, but also a great helper in downhill after hill-siebs
8. Filip Daems (BEL): The grandpa of the team with 226 races, still a realiable helper with an ok mountain/flat/downhill combination. Also a good escaper.
9. Martin Stranzl (AUT): Chaser in flat and downhill areas. His fast regeneration makes him also a good escaper.

So, thats it, a team with no sucker in going to ride hard against all suckers I guess ;)

First two stages are over, and I must admit no big sensation yet.

The prologue was won by the big tour favo Magnar Sörinson of RoXar, one second behind Ruben Hovenicke finished second, Bengt Olafson third, both of Psychopathen. Some TT-specialist did not appear, same didn't some mountain riders of RSS Deutschland and team-Valververde, so best mountain rider was Bamba Andersonof BMG-Allstars with 22 seconds behin Sörinson.

The second stage, a hilly one with a light mountain finish, was firstly dominated by mattiax, which did attack with the whole team on km 1. After beeing catched by help of all teams in the peloton, more team attacks followed. Later he gave up attacking, so a small group of three riders (Neuheuser and Flach of SV Furpach, Gaffet of Nibali Team) escaped at fought for green jersey while BMG-Allstars controlled the group easily. After the third mountain the escapers stopped riding and the peloton was controlled by BMG-Allstars, RoXar and Psychopathen and reached almost complete the "Montee finale". Dante took over the lead at the first severe grade km, which made the peloton a lot smaller. Some singular, unsuccesful attacks excepted, the peloton reached the last km, where Bamba Anderson set the attack for victory, followed by Ramirez and Sengül of RSS Deutschland on P2 and P3 with one second behind. Sörinson finished 7th, only three seconds behind, but due to the bonus seconds Bamba is now second in the overall standing with 9 seconds behind Sörinson and also has the red and the green jersey on.

Third stage, another win for BMG-Allstars.

On the first km, four riders attacked (two of RSV Kagran, two of Furpach), with Cavalera in the group hunting green jersey but Neuhauser (Furpach) and Gaffet (Nibali) missing. Surprisly Furpach rode together with Kagran while Nibali team started chasing, but giving up after a short time. Maximum gap was 5 minutes, but group never tried to maximise the margin, so BMG-Allstars started with early controlling and two "Siebs" to get rid of some riders early. Peloton was still big after this and the group was catched early with Cavalera winning two 4-mountain scorings. After catching the group the peloton slowed down tempo again, which was used by Furpach too Attack with Neuhauser and Strong, Gaiollo of Gaurain RX in the wheel. Those three got the third scoring, leaving Gaffet, Cavalera and Neuhauser with 9 points is this classement.

RoXar, Psychopaten and BMG controlled the field up to the last two km. At the grade, Ramirez of RSS Deutschland attacked, easily followed by Bamba Anderson of BMG, a group of about 8 riders just one second behind. While Ramirez started a second attack on the last km, again followed by Bamba, the tour leader Sörinson of RoXar and Sengül of RSS Deutschland attack out of the second group, followed by Dante of BMG. Sörinson started an early sprint, Dante followed and easily won the stage (his first career victory after throwing one away at the Giro to Kletter), followed by Sörinson and Bamba who just had an eye for the RSS riders which finished on P4 and 5. Fastest man of the last km was Camargo of BMG who gained 6 seconds to the leaders, but was not able to close the gap complete.

Before the long time trial, Sörinson still leads the Dauphine, second is Bamba, new third Dante followed by a bunch of Psychopathen riders. Dante now wearing white, while Bamba still having green and red.

I know - which makes me even more wonder why Furpach rode and why you not even tried to reach third mountain

4th stage, long hilly time trial.

Hovenicke of Psychopathen won by four seconds in front of Sörinson, who easily secured pink, normally for the rest of the tour. Spanish TT-specialist Ocana of furfante placed 3rd.

Interested for overall classement was that Soto Ramirez finished 2:13 min behind the winner while Bamba Anderson lost 2:56 min, which left Ramirez 17 seconds in front of the Brasilian after this stage batteling for P2 in overall with Hovenicke.

Koumbelou of Cantal is back in white jersey, taking it over again from Dante. Both with chances to win the white jersey at the end of the tour.

5th stage, first big surprise.

A stage for sprinters, but almost no real sprinter on the two (2 half ones), both without a team to block at the end, no 80+ flat rider!! Anyway, as tour leader RoXar announced his team would block at the end, chance for the sprinters was there.

KM, a group of 8 riders attacked, but it was somewhat clear that Kagran and Furpach were fighting for mountain jersey. Cantal with two in the group, but decided early to let them fall back into peloton to try a mass sprint. On the first mountain, a mountain specialist attack and joined the group, letting in more and more petty with only a rider of Gaurain and Daems of BMG there to ride for stage success. After winning two mountain scorings with Maxi, Furpach also got back into peloton, letting Kagran's Max score at the third hill. Meanwhile, Cantal let the peloton with slow tempo, but the group did try to come through at all.

Anyway, after the group was back, sprinter teams Cantal and even more Nibali were not able to control the field, which was used by a surprising attack of Chris Handrick, one of the worsest riders around. Handrick, more turtle like cycling pro on every terrain, would not have been succesful, but some km later Tafi and Massignan of team furfante attack, with noone following. The sprinter teams did not react, so the two plus Handrick got a gap of two minutes - which was enough to come through. Nibali and Cantal came to tempo much too late, at the end Roxar and Psychopathen controlled the peloton letting noone escape anymore, which let to a good 8 place of Sörinson, scoring important points for sprint jersey against Bamba.

Tafi took away victory, the first pro victory for team furfante. Handrick came in second (great !!!).
