Spring Classics 2011

Post by team fl » Wed Feb 23, 2011 11:06 am

It is THE time again! time for the Spring Classics! Races like Milano - San Remo, the Ronde van Vlaanderen, Paris - Roubaix and many more!

First race in this spectactular series will be Omloop Het Nieuwsblad at Saturday, February 26.

Of course Team FL - despite some time problems at the moment - will participate and try to repeat last year's victory (Guus Nederlof did it). Most probably Team FL will start either in the evening/night or in the morning and with the following Team FL cracks:

x1 Chuck Bass
x2 Ronny Beck
x3 Gilles Braas
x4 Pedro Garrido
x5 Frantz Granvorka
x6 Tim Hamberger
x7 Tony Longo
x8 Haruki Murakami
x9 William deWorde
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.

Morning with apes? Probably, if not afternoon.

1 Berlogea
2 Duculescu
3 Duculescu
4 Haryono
5 Montandon
6 Mori
7 Qian
8 Sagyrbayuly
9 Uzielli

Or maybe Feng or Fouché comes in for Olimpiu, a bit more mountain maybe doesn't hurt here.

Ok race at 15h, in a finally not overstrong group. Ciclistas clear favorite, basically before the race it seemed to me like I was the only team that could make the race hard against him. My biggest weakness, the lack of leader, IMO had 5 potential leaders, but all with clear weaknesses. Qian+Iordan the sprint, otherwise the 2 best, Fouché the horrible form, with his sprint and pavé, plus 50 mountains otherwise he could have been an option, although not a very convincing one, Olimpiu the mountain, and Bakhtiyar well, maybe the best leader in retrospect, but somehow not somebody who can beat the others, too similar to others, but with less sprint. So went for Iordan-Qian...Anyway, tried to make the race hard, but failed miserably, didn't really try hard enough, should have tried harder and earlier. Ciclistas with a very good race, attack early, didn't see it coming actually.. if I had, I probably would have blocked. Good I didn't see it, had no business blocking then anymore, even though Qian the hero arrived second in the peloton at the end, if it's for the win the sprint goes differently anyway. So fortunately no Singeblock, Ciclistas with an easy 1-2.

The ape and his team just arrived in Milan, some of the riders might get called to ride the WC tomorrow, but hopefully not too many, best of all, none of course. The team is ready, but still, some time for the whole team together, to prepare and finalize some details always can be used.

Petit Singe will participate, and win, the 14 h edition this year.

Let me introduce the team:

1 Septimiu Berlogea: No, number one doesn't mean I'm the leader. I'll be there to support Baoyu on his quest for 4 monuments this spring. We both feel well, I'm convinced on the Cipressa and Poggio nobody will be able to challenge Baoyu.
2 Fabrizio Conti I'm ready, the team is ready. Qian? I'm option 1, 2, 3 on saturday, Qian will do excellent work for my win, like the rest of the team.
3 Feng Ouyang Just first I would like to clarify that I have nothing, nothing at all against Japan and the Japanese. No problem with Mori, no problem with Uchigasaki. During Paris-Nice some of my team managers comments might have given a wrong impression, asked him to correct that, so far that hasn't happened unfortunately, so I take this opportunity to make my views clear! Now, the race, what? Time is up?
4 Pramoedya Haryono No, no problem, my absence at Paris-Nice wasn't due to health concerns. I'm ready. My role will be to stay with Conti til the end, my day making tempo should start only after the Cipressa
5 Frédéric Montandon It's always been my dream to help a sprinter win Milano Sanremo! Of course I hoped that it would be Cordero, Team Franconia always been my idol. But maybe I will still be there for his win. Aua, I was only joking Mr Ape! Ah!
6 Saburo Mori We're all very optimistic, we know it will be hard, but the whole team is united and will give all. My role? I will be responsible to keep things under control until the Cipressa, no not alone, with Ouyang and Fredi.
7 Qian Baoyu Yes, I'm the second option. If we realize that Fabulous doesn't feel well, or the pace is too hard for him, I will have to take my chance. Petit Singe will decide that during the race. Right now Conti is nr 1, but depending on how it goes it might be me. The important finally is that one of us wins
8 Bakhtiyar Sagyrbayuly: We had good training in the last days, we're all prepared. I know how to bring Conti to the last 500 meters, from there on he'll find his way to win. No doubt. No, I'm not more important than the rest of the team, we all will have our roles, mine just usually is in the last km, when the cameras are on, but that doesn't make it more important.
9 Stefano UzielliAn Italian sprinter winning Milano Sanremo, peferct, even though I'm not a big nationalist. But for Milano Sanremo.. you have to be. I'm really looking forward to my last 6 or so weeks as a pro, all the big classiques, after that I'll continue my bicycle trip around the world. My role Saturday? Me and Pramoedya will have similar roles, we'll be asked to try to cross the Cipressa with Conti, spend as little energy as possible before that. And then help the Bakthiyar and the others bring back Conti to the first group, then keep him in front.

Hehe...

Every year the same. The "big" teams wait. Looked at the teams that have already signed up for the different editions... pah.. barely a "favorite"... they wait... as usual for MSR, 5 editions, too many of course, realized it too late to complain, so most people have time on 2-3 maybe even more times... Hell, even I could start at 3 times. But not afraid to lose, rather lose with honour than win checking the possible groups and chose the one where the winning chances will be the biggest. 99% 14h. The 1% is real life.

I suppose the ICQ usage in Germany is soaring right now, all you little pussies talking with each other to figure out what time fits best.
-We'll have the classic edition, where most of the guys that hope for a classic win will all miraculously appear, which might then lead to some reshuffle from some gutless sprinters and hillsprinter teams that are not in the great ICQ talks, or in different ones, no chance, let's go somewhere else!
-A hill sprinter one, where the hill sprinters will participate, followed by the panic exodus of some other poor teams that feel the challenge of all those hill sprinters is too much!
-Then we'll have the sprinters edition, where all the sprint pussies will assemble,
-2 left, and the chances are big that those 2 will end up specialized as well. Let's hope not, let's hope some of the times get a normal nice mix. But with the pussification of RSF, an ongoing irreversible trend of course, that seems unlikely. No guts, no honour, not riding to fight, not riding to to win, just riding to get the the line in the palmares. Pussies. Just in case I hadn't mentioned that yet.

I'd like to know what kind of edition it is at 10h, the time seems ok for me, but if i'm chanceless, i'll go at 14h and suck conti's wheel.

1- Patrick Bruel the always-bluffing-but-losing mindtrick master
2- Jawad Azizi, the moral winner of the world championships, want to be the moral winner of MSR as well
3- Boris Bondarenko the handsome helper
4- John Casey the powerful puller
5- Anatoly Gouchenko, the downhill dasher
6- Wilco Kelderman, the best young cyclist ever and also our classic leader, he will be able to block a bit
7- Nasser Nosrati "le meilleur d'entre nous"
8- Matt Saracen the nontraining wannabe leader, who might be excluded but for the moment he stays in
9- Masoud Zandi, who doesnt like to talk to journalists

Bad bad franconia...
