1. Michael Vorderegger ...... 45 - 77 - 66 - 57 - 44 reg 40 age 25 --- flat helper
2. Simon Gruber ............. 50 - 68 - 51 - 53 - 48 reg 42 age 23 --- helper (filler)
3. Roland Hofacker .......... 51 - 72 - 51 - 56 - 52 reg 36 age 23 --- helper (filler)
4. Toni Dachsbacher ......... 55 - 70 - 52 - 51 - 43 reg 38 age 22 --- helper (filler)
5. Martin Mühlgruber ........ 58 - 68 - 49 - 50 - 44 reg 37 age 23 --- hill helper
6. Alexander Geiersbichler .. 59 - 72 - 53 - 49 - 48 reg 39 age 23 --- hill helper
7. Andreas Mittereder ....... 62 - 74 - 63 - 49 - 55 reg 62 age 22 --- future classic driver (with sprint), top helper with reg for reisinger at vuelta
8. Jakob Fuchs ............... 62 - 77 - 65 - 53 - 44 reg 63 age 22 --- future classic driver (with flat), top helper with reg for reisinger at vuelta
9. Hannes Reisinger ......... 77 - 51 - 68 - 65 - 47 reg 65 age 22 --- hill specialist excellent reg with good tt, the man for white and top 10

costs: ~340k

pros: three main with good reg, good hill values for age, cheap
cons: bad flat, bad downhill, hill values not competitive with favos

goals: (in order of importance)

i) Reisinger top10
ii) Fuchs and Mittereder top40
iii) Reisinger white
iv) 1 mio profit
v) win a stage

What do you think about my team (pros, cons) and do you think the goals are realizable

BMG will also ride the Vuelta at 10 o'clock. Team will announced tomorrow, but it will be cheapers than at the GIRO and the Tour, because of lower GK and stage chances (because good old Rhodes is here again). Looks like it will be a farewell tour for Dahlin, maybe with Joris, maybe not...

i) Reisinger top10

Depends on the field. Will be very difficult to bring him back if he once loses contact to the group of favorites. Will be isolated very early. Top 10 not much likely.

ii) Fuchs and Mittereder top40

Don't waste your energy for that. One top 10 stage result from one of them would make up for bringing both under the Top 40 at the end. Drop them in the first stages, so that they are far enough behind to being allowed to go in an escape group. Then try your luck with them on the attack.

iii) Reisinger white

Depends on the field. If there's only one 24-year-old climber with 83-85, i guess you will have no chance.

iv) 1 mio profit

no salary costs is good, but you don't have riders to regularly reach the money ranks. You would need ~40k per day (plus Top 15 overall). That would be ~ one 3rd place or 2 riders in the Top 10 each day. Very unlikely. You don't even have a rider who could go for it in the sprints. Don't expect too much profit. But you could earn a little at the intermediate sprints and mountains. Go on the escape every day. But don't sprint too much at the intermediates (unless it's for the fight for wearing the mountains yersey). Then they'll lose interest in breaking away with you.

v) win a stage

Even that, very unlikely. Except out of a breakaway that makes it to the finish.

I switched my team about 20 times and never been happy with it, but now I made my final decision. Forget what I wrote about beeing cheap, I don't want to be isolated all the time in the mountains, so my team is more expensive now, but more powerful. Maybe I digged my own grave, but who cares. Here we go with the team for Martin Dahlin's farewell GT:

1. Steve Gohouri (Burkina Faso)
2. Patrick Andersson (Sweden)
3. Kjell Carlström (Finnland)
4. Rafael Montenegro (Columbia)
5. Peter van Houdt (Belgium)
6. Igor Camargo (Belgium)
7. Joris van Hout (Belgium)
8. Martin Dahlin (Sweden)
9. Erik Thorstved (Norway)

Oh, here comes the favo... Casagrande, what a Huber :D Fasulo, what a sausage :? Maybe a 85 mountainer would be better now than Plato, don't you think?

Really nice article.
in der steilen Abfahrt 3 Kilometer vorm Ziel nutzt Rhodes die Gelegenheit und schüttelt Dahlin, der scheinbar so etwas wie eine Abfahrtsphopie hat...
