Hi Freaks,

during this year's Tour de France, the game is popular with >130 active teams and sometimes 50+ teams active at the same time (Tour de France teams + spectators + parallel race). Therefore, it is time to upgrade the server for better performance, which will cost 240 EUR for 2 years. For transparency, this is the cost to upgrade from IONOS VPS S (EUR4/month) to VPS L (EUR14/month) and the contract duration is 24 months.

As you know, the game is for free and ad-free, and will stay like that. But to have less lagging and better performance, the server upgrade would be required.

For all teams who donate EUR 10 or more, we have some small reward:
1.) You will get a small symbol/emblem/label on your team page showing that you support the game.
2.) If you want, you can design a fantasy race for the 2025/26 offseason and we will 100% make sure it gets included in the calendar at your favorite time slot. (If possible, we'll also put it on a date you select.)

In case we receive more than EUR 240, we will also guarantee to invest that in the future of Cycling4Freaks (e.g. further server upgrades, or advertisement for the game, or similar).

Just don't use PayPal, and you can type a name.

My asset manager told me that I've already spent too much money at the Tour de France for the Team FL salary and could not donate for the Server Upgrade. I fired him and did it myself.

I am in no position to spend in-game money either.

Was in half way in my DnD session. I rolled a D20 -> Nat20
Had to roll damage in close combat because of missing spell slots. Maybe I'm a lucky again for a second roll after a beer or two.

Upgrade is started, not sure when the additional power is fully available, but it seems to be on its way

And we have EUR 90 more than we need.

So we will save that for now and depending on how performance looks like after the Server Upgrade, we'll decide what's the best use of those funds.

Game works much better, thanks for the upgrade.

Since Schappy can win tdf stages now, I'd actually say the game works worse!
