Stage 4 - group favorites
01. 00:00:00 Giovanni Duprè (pirati)
02. 00:00:00 Lam Thuy (RS Walbeck)
03. 00:00:00 Pavel Kortschagin (Red Wine)
04. 00:00:00 Mark Bench (Claw - CVIII)
05. 00:00:00 Aidan Andersen (Gipfelstuermer)
21. 00:00:00 Foukimoana Rongomatane (Team Lidwinia)
36. 00:00:33 Kamehameha Rapanui (Team Lidwinia)
53. 00:03:38 Matua Ahuatanga (Team Lidwinia)
68. 00:07:27 Akelei Limaalofa (Team Lidwinia)
72. 00:07:27 Gregory Henderson (Team Lidwinia)
80. 00:07:27 Pekahau Haumiatiketike (Team Lidwinia)
81. 00:17:14 Naingimea Itimaroroa (Team Lidwinia)
83. 00:17:21 Toakai Sopoanga (Team Lidwinia)
89. 00:22:25 Alopua Penisula (Team Lidwinia)

I went to this stage with three aims: keep Ahuatanga fit for tomorrow, get Rongomatane safe over the hills, get the mountains jersey with Rapanui. The first two were no problem, the third was. Rapanui was in a lead group with Sopoanga and some other guys and I tried to explain I only wanted the mountain points, but it happened as a surprize apparently when Rapanui attacked for them. Then nobody wanted to work anymore and Sopoanga did all of it. Then I think something technical went wrong, because nobody was replying to anything I said anymore and then suddenly the group was past the next hill and two groups were off, leaving Sopoanga and Rapanui behind. Then I left. annoying... Surely better tomorrow, but I'm talking english in moments I want to be sure I'm understood

19. 00:00:02 Pekahau Haumiatiketike (Team Lidwinia)
40. 00:00:02 Alopua Penisula (Team Lidwinia)
52. 00:00:02 Foukimoana Rongomatane (Team Lidwinia)
57. 00:00:02 Toakai Sopoanga (Team Lidwinia)
71. 00:00:02 Matua Ahuatanga (Team Lidwinia)
78. 00:00:02 Naingimea Itimaroroa (Team Lidwinia)
93. 00:00:02 Akelei Limaalofa (Team Lidwinia)

Aaargh!!! A group with Rapanui went away and had a decent lead. Only in the last km, 5 other riders came across from the peloton and got places 1 to 5... Behind, there were two guys and the peloton where Henderson was 3rd.

7th stage - hilly
01. 00:00:00 Paolo Denardis (pirati)
02. 00:00:00 Garth Brooks (Claw - CVIII)
03. 00:00:00 Aschat Schitkejev (Freudenfeuer)
04. 00:00:00 Jan Kabes (Crissler)
05. 00:01:46 Wassili Rudenkow (Freudenfeuer)
08. 00:01:49 Foukimoana Rongomatane (Team Lidwinia)
49. 00:15:41 Matua Ahuatanga (Team Lidwinia)
50. 00:15:41 Kamehameha Rapanui (Team Lidwinia)
53. 00:15:41 Pekahau Haumiatiketike (Team Lidwinia)
59. 00:15:41 Akelei Limaalofa (Team Lidwinia)
63. 00:15:41 Toakai Sopoanga (Team Lidwinia)
68. 00:15:41 Gregory Henderson (Team Lidwinia)
79. 00:18:37 Alopua Penisula (Team Lidwinia)
86. 00:24:40 Naingimea Itimaroroa (Team Lidwinia)

All was in service of Rongomatane staying with the favorites and he did, so I'm pleased. A group got away and was never seen again. During the race, I managed to keep most of the team together pretty long to support Rongomatane. In the end, Rongomatane tried an attack, but that failed. He was with the best riders and got to 8th in the GC.

8th stage-Small group
01. 00:00:00 Ngok Nhank (RS Walbeck)
02. 00:00:00 Karim Khair (Gipfelstuermer)
03. 00:00:00 Rachim Romantschuk (Freudenfeuer)

05. 00:00:52 Edward Grylls (Claw - CVIII)
11. 00:00:54 Foukimoana Rongomatane (Team Lidwinia)
24. 00:00:54 Kamehameha Rapanui (Team Lidwinia)
44. 00:06:42 Gregory Henderson (Team Lidwinia)
60. 00:06:42 Matua Ahuatanga (Team Lidwinia)
81. 00:31:43 Naingimea Itimaroroa (Team Lidwinia)
84. 00:31:43 Alopua Penisula (Team Lidwinia)
92. 00:31:43 Pekahau Haumiatiketike (Team Lidwinia)

A nice race with a nice group where Sopoanga was the flat specialist and they didn't drop him on the steep hills. In the end, it was 15 kilometers of sur place and a sprint where Sopoangas wheel was covered. Rongomatane was second in the bunch sprint.

9th stage - Mountaintop finish
01. 00:00:00 Filippo Brunelleschi (pirati)
02. 00:00:00 Kai Kletter (ByZickl)
03. 00:00:02 Lam Thuy (RS Walbeck)
04. 00:00:22 Torstein Gulbrandsen (CC LdeMar)
05. 00:01:08 José Januario (Gipfelstuermer)
07. 00:01:21 Foukimoana Rongomatane (Team Lidwinia)
38. 00:12:14 Kamehameha Rapanui (Team Lidwinia)
46. 00:16:02 Akelei Limaalofa (Team Lidwinia)
61. 00:16:02 Gregory Henderson (Team Lidwinia)
82. 00:35:05 Naingimea Itimaroroa (Team Lidwinia)
88. 00:35:05 Alopua Penisula (Team Lidwinia)
90. 00:35:05 Toakai Sopoanga (Team Lidwinia)
96. 00:35:05 Pekahau Haumiatiketike (Team Lidwinia)

A very good final stage where Rongomatane managed to stay with the almost-best for the entire race and where he climbed to 4th overall, for the final classification. A good race. A group went away and was caught back because a team was making tempo from the start. Then the favorites started goign early and a group with Rongomatane struggled to return. But they did and some climbers were toast and all exploded on the final slope.

2nd stage - mass sprint
01. 00:00:00 Fabio Botero (Rake Racing)
02. 00:00:00 Gregory Henderson (Team Lidwinia)
03. 00:00:00 Steffen Graf (Dynamo Malta)

97. 00:00:00 Fakatoafe Teikauea (Team Lidwinia)
115. 00:00:00 Rahi Kahausibware (Team Lidwinia)
121. 00:00:00 Naingimea Itimaroroa (Team Lidwinia)
146. 00:00:00 Foukimoana Rongomatane (Team Lidwinia)

A very good result with about the 10th sprinter in the field. There were some groups away in the busy race. Kahausibware failed to get away at the start, but halfway, Itimaroroa did get away. He was not helped in a lead group, so he dropped himself again. From then on, Lidwinia was quiet. Until the sprint.

74. 00:05:27 Rahi Kahausibware (Team Lidwinia)
75. 00:05:27 Matua Ahuatanga (Team Lidwinia)
84. 00:09:37 Akelei Limaalofa (Team Lidwinia)
125. 00:09:45 Alopua Penisula (Team Lidwinia)
139. 00:09:45 Gregory Henderson (Team Lidwinia)
158. 00:19:12 Naingimea Itimaroroa (Team Lidwinia)
189. 00:47:43 Pekahau Haumiatiketike (Team Lidwinia) (HD)

Foukimoana made sure he got another top-10 finish. That's good. For the rest, nothing much happened. Sadly Haumiatiketike lost too much time and finished too late to continue.

I haven't been able to be there for the last stage, because I had to cycle myself (won!). The Team Lidwinia race was disastrous, but that's fine. Rongomatane ended in the 7th spot. in general.

Nukufetau News wrote:Transfer frenzy seems endless

With almost 2% of the entire population under contract at Team Lidwinia, Manager Winia found yet another average rider to add to the stocks. The name as exotic as his achievements. Ogilani Sogivalu (25) signed for a period of 50 days as a stagair with Team Lidwinia. He comes from Nukufetau.

Last season, he won two stages in the Tour of Easter Island and a time trial in the Vuelta de los Galapagos which includes a section of pedalo racing where he he caught up with 3 riders who started before him. His greatest achievement, however, is his 7 month time trial from Kinshasa to Belgrade and back. Rumours go he only used one bottle of water. No refilling details are known.

At Team Lidwinia, he will be the 11th Tuvaluan rider in the roster. He will make his debute in the Languedoc. "I expect to win the time trial by a margin of at least 5 minutes," according to Sogivalu. Team mate Matua Ahuatanga is not so sure about that and will take him under his wings. "We'll see when he first races professionals," he says, referring to him recent races against school children and book keepers. To be continued.

1st stage - mountainous finale
01. 00:00:00 Gino Cazino (Berlin Marks AG)
02. 00:00:00 Johnny Bartsen (BayernPower)
03. 00:00:00 Stephane Derouille (Riding Stars)
04. 00:00:00 Giuseppe Pes (equipe)
05. 00:00:01 Reza Soleimani (Bankai)
15. 00:00:48 Foukimoana Rongomatane (Team Lidwinia)
39. 00:06:37 Rahi Kahausibware (Team Lidwinia)
67. 00:16:17 Akelei Limaalofa (Team Lidwinia)

81. 00:16:17 Kamehameha Rapanui (Team Lidwinia)
89. 00:16:17 Fakatoafe Teikauea (Team Lidwinia)
110. 00:16:17 Matua Ahuatanga (Team Lidwinia)
139. 00:26:53 Okilani Sogivalu (Team Lidwinia)

A funny race. A group with 15 riders, including Penisula and Kahausibware, got away and seemed to go for the win, but one climber pulled it apart on a climb and one by one, they were caught back. Then there were some attacks uphill and one by Rongomatane downhill, but none stayed away. On the downhill and flat section in the end, a small group managed to get away and sprint for victory. rongomatane won the sprint in a bigger group.

Complaint filed against Nukufetau News

According to several unknown reliable sources, a complaint was filed by the Anti-Defamation League for Bookkeepers against some hateful content written in the Nukufetau News. The Anti-Defamation League for Bookkeepers finds the following text offending and deliberately discriminating and hateful against bookkeepers.

“"We'll see when he first races professionals," he says, referring to him recent races against school children and book keepers. “

The Anti-Defamation League for Bookkeepers will try their best to get this offending text removed from the article or they will demand a rectification. When this will not happen a formal complaint will be filed against the Nukufetau News.

We will keep a close eye to the outcome of this matter.

Hooglandse Courant (page 18, 2nd column to the right) wrote:800 Book keepers slaughtered

800 book keepers have been slaughtered by Tuvaluan mercenaries in an "appropriate response" to "evil actions" earlier this day. Most book keepers have been impaled in public places. Two stages today. Didn't know that was possible.

49. 00:15:00 Rahi Kahausibware (Team Lidwinia)

84. 00:26:01 Matua Ahuatanga (Team Lidwinia)

123. 00:26:01 Akelei Limaalofa (Team Lidwinia)
150. 00:36:16 Alopua Penisula (Team Lidwinia)

A decent result. I let all the team work for Rongomatane (not knowing the time trial was also today). Rongomatane managed to limit the losses. The rest were in grupettos

4th stage - group and mass sprint
01. 00:00:00 Norbert Zima (Medvedi)
02. 00:00:00 Godtfred Holmvang (Sfr Erbach)
03. 00:00:00 Jovan Summer (Lorient)
04. 00:00:00 Sebastian Leiter (Chense)

30. 00:00:10 Naingimea Itimaroroa (Team Lidwinia)
36. 00:00:10 Kamehameha Rapanui (Team Lidwinia)
45. 00:00:10 Matua Ahuatanga (Team Lidwinia)
90. 00:00:10 Akelei Limaalofa (Team Lidwinia)
96. 00:00:10 Rahi Kahausibware (Team Lidwinia)
121. 00:00:10 Fakatoafe Teikauea (Team Lidwinia)
146. 00:00:10 Alopua Penisula (Team Lidwinia)
149. 00:00:10 Okilani Sogivalu (Team Lidwinia)

The day that I expected nothing of. An easy stage with a little up-down at the start and a flat finish. A group went away. Kahausibware failed to get in there and that meant the stage was over. Then, by the end, a large group escaped and took half a minute that was not brought down anymore. The group broke in two and the last half was brought back. 7 men stayed away. Itimaroroa tried to attack in the final km and that was it.

117. 00:28:38 Alopua Penisula (Team Lidwinia)
121. 00:30:23 Naingimea Itimaroroa (Team Lidwinia)
131. 00:30:23 Matua Ahuatanga (Team Lidwinia)
132. 00:30:23 Okilani Sogivalu (Team Lidwinia)

Well, this Tour is over. Just not what I expected. Rapanui, Kahausibware and Teikauea tried to be in respective groups, but it was all too hard. Rongomatane was just behind the favorites.

153. 00:00:01 Naingimea Itimaroroa (Team Lidwinia)
157. 00:00:01 Toakai Sopoanga (Team Lidwinia)

There was a 19 man group with some Tuvaluans: Sopoanga, Itimaroroa and Haumiatiketike that got a big advantage, but due to some parasites, it didn't keep it. Then, 13 new ones escaped and they did. Henderson won the bunch spribnt for 14th place, but what does that mean?

52. 00:10:17 Akelei Limaalofa (Team Lidwinia)
59. 00:10:46 Pekahau Haumiatiketike (Team Lidwinia)

Matua Ahuatanga is in poor form and the rest is subtop. That's why this was all. Limaalofa and Haumiatiketike rode 75%.

An ok race. With a lot of hills, I knew I had to be in a group to make sure I was around IF it managed to make it to the finish, but it was a stupidity-group fightiong for a jersey that was not there and stuff like that, so they started attacking and attacking... By the end, Rongomatane failed to be with the best andthat was it.
