Schrödinger's Dogs: Alive & Dead

The most overrated team here in RSF will fight for the middle-class cycling sport. Here the numerous fans will be informed about the latest information, transfer-news, rumour and victories (?hm why not). Press chef Klaus Knackstedt and journalist Tobias Feder will inform you quickly about the newest changes.

The former team Dead And Alive is now inactive for nearly 5 years with a short reactivation in 2018.

Our newly established team is called Alive And Dead and will start from Division 7 to reach the top (*hust) again (*nearly). We will restart our ambitions with new riders and the old concept: Funny animalic names, names with many Umlaute and jokes about cats in boxes.

Bad Start into the Ruta del Sol - Start in die Ruta del Sol missglückt
21.02.2010

Expected was at least a top 3 place in todays Mountain Finish for the french Benoit Mandelbrot. He got punished for trying too early and therefore only finsished on the 5th place. All in all it was a very boring stage. No hard parts before the last climb made it very easy for Mangahns Mannen to reach the climb with a closed peloton. For tomorrow the team is looking forward to a hard working stage. Aim is the mass sprint for Alexandrè Grothendieck. Our star journalist Tobias Feder surprisingly showed up yesterday here in Spain and will continue with his Tour Diary.

Feder On Tour - Ruta del Sol - Tag 1

Heutiger Interviewgast: Benoit Mandelbrot

22.02.2010

It was a very tactical stage, a small group with 3 riders was formed in the beginning and nobody seemed to follow, together with the classement teams Team Equipe Mathematique managed a MS (very surprisingly I think) where Grothendieck lost a 5point lead to Henshall. It was the closest final ever and the judges where not sure a long time, wheater Alex or Henshall is the winner of this close final. Furter informations by Tobi Feder:

Feder on Tour - Ruta del Sol - Tag 2 - Die Niederlage

In seiner Vertretung beim Interview: Teammanager Flock:

Heutiger Interviewgast: Flocke (Teammanager Equipe Mathematique)

Oh boy, I really thought you´d get this. Why with Vincze and not hanging at some 60+ sprinter??? Then you win without any problem. Argh! But Alexandré will win for sure, don´t worry.

yeah me too! like written in the forum: wouldn't really make any difference if going on a 60 or 2 riders of me in both cases I just loose with the maximum of bad luck. But sometimes it shouldn't be so I am looking forward to the next chance that will, for sure come for Alex

First Time as Team Leader: Heinrich Heuser - Season Start in Belgium

Heinrich was very looking forward to the real season opener "Omloop Het Blad". There was no special attention for this race in the past (form, etc) but with yesterdays flat training Heuser represents the ("very weak on the chest"...Kielgy) Pavéteam Equipe Mathematique. Behind him there were some solid pavé riders like Bikon (also flat training yesterday) and Vincze but they were not the best help for the hilly terrain today, on the other hand the Lindelöfs Pavé values are not very fascinating and for this reasons Heuser was isolated in the final. Because of early attacks he also (as many) couldn't follow the later winner 4km to the end. But the team is nevertheless very happy about the exciting race and place 17 for young Heinrich

Another Second Place

The start into Langkawi Tour was pretty good with a second place for Alexandrè Grothendieck in a peloton with numerious good sprinters. The team is very happy with THIS second place and the white jersey for Alex. He insted will wear the green jersey today and lend his white to another teammate Lorenz Lindelöf.

Steinitz returns to the team

87 58 nono that's not Benoit Mandelbrot. 58-87 Stefan Steinitz returns for the rest of his career to the team where all had started. The Team is happy to welcome back Stefan. He will be a big help for Grothendieck as well as for the young Heinrich Heuser.

Podium for Mandelbrot

3rd place in the general classement for Benoit Mandelbrot in the Langkawi Tour (second Podium in Langkawi in 2 years - last year Michael Kronecker). But it is no big success for the team as the rivelry was not that great. Alexandre on the other hand did very great work with a second and 2 third places he finished 3rd in the spirting classement but the first victory for Alex has to wait still.

Pfui, that much financing, illegal deals I'm sure, you used your mathematics to make 2=87 or so again, unfair.

Mandelbrot siegt in Südafrika - Schwacher Trost

Benoit Mandelbrot takes his 3rd victory in south afrika, but it is not really satisfying, as the real concurrents are in Italy and France that time. The Team wanted to start there too but it wasn't possible. Mandelbrot started with good form in the race and therefore the Equipe managed the group nearly alone. On the +7 Mandelbrot rode his attacke and noone could follow. In the end he had 23seconds to his 2 followers and a minute to the next bigger group with the Lindelöfs.

Interview: Herr Mandelbrot.

Good results in the last days, but no second season win

Trofeo Bizkaia Image
Mandelbrot in bad shape could finish second on the last climb of the season. The Team controlled the peloton together with Luna and TeamDeutschland. But the team was to weak so Mandelbrot was isolated for too many km. The second place was therefore a good result and Mandelbrots third podium after the win in South Africa and place 3 in Langkawi.

02. 00:00:11 Benoit Mandelbrot (Equipe Mathematique)
03. 00:00:12 Maximilian Kletter (RSC Unlingen)

more important:

Gent - Wevelgem Image
Heinrich Heuser in Top- Form and after missing P-N, T-A and MSR the only season highlight the team could start at. Not many spectators thought that Heinrich could even arrive in one of the first groups. It was an interesting race and the Team seemed really strong, after the Kemmelberg, the first group didn't count more than 30 riders. 3 of them: Lorenz Lindelöf, Stefan Steinitz and Heinrich Heuser. The tactic then was really simple. First attacking with who seemed for everybody, better rider Steinitz. As expected everybody on his wheel and some km later Heinrich rode his attack, 3 riders on his wheel who didn't showed any intention to ride or catch the riders few seconds in front. Heinrich managed it alone, catched the best wheel in the sprint but was too weak for the victory. Place 3 is the greatest sucess this season (more worth than Mandelbrots place 1 and 2 in sausage races together)

23. 00:00:01 Stefan Steinitz (Equipe Mathematique)
24. 00:00:01 Lorenz Lindelöf (Equipe Mathematique)

GP Harelbeke Image
Heinrichs big races in Belgium (or those he could ride) all ended very successfull. After a late escape he could cought in the sprint he managed to finish 4th against way better sprintig skills.

02. 00:00:00 Magnus Wiklander (TEAM LAUSITZ)

Rider of the Month

First we have to add the Rider of the Month for February: Istvan Vincze. (winner of the Hungarian Championship)
Not many races - Not many good results. So the only stage winner takes it and wears the Hungarian Championship Jersey for the next months.

March:
Nominated:
Benoit Mandelbrot: 456 points this season, 3rd place Langkawi Stage (kat 2), 3rd place General Langkawi (kat 2), Stage win Oudtshoorm - Avontuur (kat 1), 2nd place Trofeo Bizkaia kat 1)
Heinrich Heuser: 489 points this season, 3rd place Gent Wevelgem (Kat 5), 4th place GP Harelbeke (Kat 4)

And the winner is: Heinrich Heuser

Interview:

Retired heroes alcoholics?

No, this is not an April 1st joke. Harro Heuser and Adam Wollfinger were seen in a Budweiser-Pub in Praha drinking on their new liberty as non-active cyclists. The two became pretty drunk and hardly came home to the hotel. Wollfinger´s statement to the press: "We were just having fun like everyone else does, but usually we don´t go out drinking the hell out of it too often." Heuser didn´t answer the questions so far.

3rd Podium in a row - no Victory still

Pais Vasco - First Stage

Some Statistics for APRIL:
Races 3, Stage Place 3: 3times (how great)

Red Jersey for Mandelbrot

Etappen:
1.: -:-
2.: -:-
3.: 1x Stefan Steinitz, 1x Lorenz Lindelöf

Gesamt:
12.: Benoit Mandelbrot

Berg:
1.: Benoit Mandelbrot

Amstel Victory for Mandelbrot (field 2)

First victory in a classic race for Benoit Mandelbrot. He won the Amstel Gold Race with 2 seconds to his teammate Sergei Larin (first race-first great race). Lorenz Lindelöf finished 15th and made the race to a very sucessfull (financially and athletic). But its also a bit disappointing that we only could start in the second field. With the points the team made today, we will qualify ourselves for the Wallone field 1, which is season higlight number 1
