Club 100

At De Panne, where Dries Ickx finished 5th, Wizards Cycling finally cracked the 100.000 points mark. Over 5 years of RSF, in which we found friends, had interesting races and some great wins have unfortunately found a new climax in one of our teams' weakest seasons ever.

Uhm.. this is weird

Arno Wollfinger won the 1st stage of Vuelta al pais Vasco. I seriously don't know how this happened, didn't expect it and went offline 1km before the finish just to see now he won the stage. Cool tour start, unfortunately we didn't make it to the opening breakaway group but this is way more than to hope for.

Arno in someone's famous footsteps taking Paris-Camembert

Arno Wollfinger, son of probably the most famous "homegrown" Wizards Cycling rider Adam Wollfinger, wants to follow in his footsteps it seems. With his already 3rd career stage win in the well-known classic race Paris-Camembert he shows off some great talent for the right wheels. After Berlin Marks AG didn't show up to win the race, the race was open between the other teams. Tim Wintersted joined the breakaway, but after seeming hopeless stopped the work (sorry group, just no options were left). The group was caught before the last heavy hill and after a sieb by Fabricia El Verger (Auxilium Torino) everyone could've won. It was Ilvari Kirjonen's (VeloClubDouchy) attack that cemented a duo-win tonight. Arno follows as the only contestant to win a sprint 100 metres after Kirjonen already went. Except pavés races April starts to become a good month for the team. We are looking forward to the ardennes classics and some other races now hoping to win at least one other big one day race this month.

Soneau wins Romandie stage 2, takes yellow for at least one day

Zachary Soneau finally was able to win a stage. Today he was the luckier sprinter in the finale to Moutier and takes Yellow, Green, White and the stage. Hopefully we can save Green and White, if we're lucky even another stage is possible. Furthermore, a new rider was bought. The new belgian talent Wilco Westermans will join our squad next month and could fill the gap we have in downhill.

Soneau brings Wizards Cycling back to success

April, even though the team was weak on the classics, was a gorgeous month for our team. After many months without greater successes we could not only win Paris-Camembert, Soneau makes Romandie the best tour of the year. He wins one stage, the green jersey, ends 3rd in general classement and by that wins the young riders' classement aswell. Hooray!

Wilco Westermans wins Rund um den Turm

An outstanding fighter is somewhat you could call Wilco Westermans. The 21year old classic rider was able to win Rund um den Turm (cat. 3) in his very first professional's race. This guy is hungry for victories, he will want more for sure. After catching a group that wasn't wanting to let Wilco join he was riding almost 30 kms a few seconds behind to catch them. 9 minutes were given by the peloton and lately the group changed to the fresh riders. Wilco rested as we knew he probably was not gonna fight hard enough to stay in the group after the last mountain. Another unsolidary act started, Radsportgustl's rider was dropped and the group hardly waited. He could come back, but weakened. Wilco didn't like the arrangement and was quite dead after fighting to stay at the 8% so he waited for the group to go to Flamme Rouge and take a lucky wheel. Everything went well and we earn our 2nd cat. 3 win 2012 after Paris-Camembert.

Btw if i want to ride for a hillsprinter (which i dont have at this very moment), i think i know how to handle it, but thx.

Transfer window was opened for another rider

After Wilco Westermans, Enzo Gabbana was the second rider to fill in the gaps in our team. He will also be riding especially classic races. The young Italian could be one of the maybe best ensemble of Wizards Cycling classics ever to ride together.

At Dunkerque Zachary Soneau was able to keep his run going winning yellow and green by getting the first stage. Tomorrow we want to keep that!

Wollfinger takes Soneau's jerseys

On stage 2 of Dunkerque Arno Wollfinger was able to land in a group containing Guy Sibille and Francis Castaing (both Celtic Club) and was uberlucky to win the sprint before the bunch against his two competitors. We don't know how, but Arno now takes stage, yellow and green jersey!

Wollfinger with 3rd stage win for Wizards

Celtic Club did strong attempts against Arno's chances for the maillot jaune. Too much help from other teams were enough for Arno to stay in the race when Guy Sibille started Celtic's final attempt on a downhill before the finale. Wollfinger chases him alongside a tigri etrusci rider and wins the stage before HangSan Allrad (BMG-Allstars). Tomorrow we will try anything to save yellow.

Wollfinger takes Dunkerque overall

At Dunkerque's last stage we worked hard to let no one go and push for a bunch sprint to keep yellow at any instances. BMG wins the sprint, so both sprinter teams get one stage, both deserved. Arno couldn't take the points classement though, but winning three stages and the overall makes Dunkerque the most successful tour of this year so far. After a long time and for the first time 2012, we could make a general. Thanks for a very nice peloton, it's again great to ride in the afternoon section with some active, fair and aggressive-riding teams.

On the run

Pakke Adlung not only initiated but also won out of the final group to attack 11kms before the finish line at GP Gulbene. The sprinters were fighting hard to catch a 10 man group involving Alan Bosh and Wilco Westermans. The only one that didn't feel tired was Pakke, who went with Barry Gibb (bergwerk) and Renzo Spezilezziatti (who did a perfect job to save seconds on the 4%) aswell as Felix Musiol (fohlenpower). We saved 8 seconds, end 1st and 4th and save four men in the final group. MONEY BITCHES!

Wilco Westermans wins his 2nd professional race

At Rogaland GP Wilco Westermans wins his 2nd professional race, yet again out of a breakaway. After last time Alan Bosh was set up from him, this time Bosh pulls Wilco in position. The 4 riders left were riding a perfect breakaway, though Wilco believed he had not enough chances and started tactics. A group including him attacks, Aart vaDenBergh (TheChosenOne) and Wilco can make it with 5 seconds to the rest of the breakaway. In a photo finish Wilco wins another one day race, and another non-cat.1-race! Awesome job, Wilco!

Circuit de Lorraine: 3rd and two classements

At Circuit de Lorraine we missed the chance for a stage victory, nevertheless it was a very successful tour. Arno Wollfinger ends 3rd in general classement, Wilco Westermans was already 99% through on day 4 in the climber's classement and the team classement goes also to us. Even though we missed the last stage we are glad to have tried everything before and the wheels on day 5 possibly were good ones, as we saved our ambitions. The financial success of the tour is huge and a little more than one million credits. Our next rider is in reach already, we need to find the right one now. A leader shall be bought.
