Andris Nauduzs joins 15+ alltime list

With by now 17 stage victories - 8 of them were achieved with Wizards Cycling - Andris, former sprinting star of this team was able to join a list of very sucessful riders. This list consisting of all riders in the RSF-universe with 15 or more stage victories is highly rated and we want to congratulate Andris for this.

Ruta del Sol

In this early pre-season tour the Wizards showed more absence than class. Unfortunately we did not manage to wake up early enough - this is so ridiculous... nevertheless some good aspects, but no victories even though a must-win on stage 3. Nevermind, since we also missed Kat. 4 classic race Omloop Het Volk afterwards, which is about three-times worse. Today on the Autour de Bruxelles we want to show we can also shine by good riding instead of absence.

Kato takes his by far most important victory at Paris - Nîmes!

Finally our cameroon hero Kato Wolfsong, classic captain for the Giro, was able to show what he´s got to show. At the third stage of this year´s team highlight No. 1 Paris - Nîmes Kato could attack as the only at a 4% climb on the last kilometre. By this he was able to get the stage before Gerard, Mamic and the other favourites. Almost one whole month without victory ended with this great Kat. 4 stage win! YEAH, KATO!!!!

Frenchman wins - who thought it would be Nicolas?

Nicolas LaCroix, flat rider, pavé star, strong climber for a non-classic rider and of course frenchman was today able to win out of a four man group at the 6th stage of Paris - Nîmes. Since yesterday´s words by Allrad it was quite sure the first group to go will do it, so we thought of Nicolas. As he´s french he was on fire today. Alex Goop (Team FL) was the one who attacked in the final downhill part, where only Nicolas was able to follow. From there on it was a game of two almost equivalent riders: 54 vs 55 Sprint, 83 vs 82 flat. Nicolas though is in fact the stronger climber and had for sure more stamina left. He was now the one to work first and didn´t take the chance to attack at the 5% before the finish - he said to Alex they´re going over the finish lane together. This is was really happened then, a camera finish which made almost not sure who was over the line first. But it was Nicolas, so he takes his first victory in his home country. Great!

Paris-Nîmes

Paris-Nîmes is the first important tour for the Wizards 2010. We are very glad to say that it became an interesting 8 days cycling show with many highlights aswell for the fans and our team. We happened to be very successful with 2 stage wins and the team classement. Top 5 and the white jersey were not to be gotten by Philippe. The overall winner is Carlton Myers (Allrad).
Because of our good performance we made a huge step onto the plateau of the first division and are confident to be able to save ourselves a place in the first division for the upcoming days and weeks.

General classement:
6th: Philippe Laviniere
Team classement: Wizards Cycling

Stages:
1st: Nicolas LaCroix, Kato Wolfsong
2nd: Philippe Laviniere

Laviniere in crisis: Leader to be dropped

Because of awful training Philippe Laviniere, supposed-to-be-leader for the Giro, Tour and Vuelta, could be sold quicker than he can say Aprikosengelee. At the end of the month deBoer will decide if Philippe has a future in this squad.

It takes you until the end of the month to say Aprikosengelee?

Don't punish bugusers. We all have to use bugs, since most of them are declared as "features"!

You know Philippe doesn´t speak German. Could just be he needs some time to pronounciate this word correctly.

LaCroix underlines potential

Our 23years old special helper Nicolas LaCroix did it again today: at the 70th Giro del Mendrisiotto he could after a great collaboration with Jan Raas and Malte Hakonsen win a breakaway group sprint. By this he was able to show after his great win at Paris-Nîmes - also out of a breakaway - his shape and potential for the upcoming months. We are very positively suprised and looking forward to see him grow by his experiences.
The victory is a great help for the fight against falling into division 2, since Philippe Laviniere might be sold this month.

Laviniere to leave Wizards Cycling

Today our past hope for the Grand Tours, Philippe Laviniere, was sold. His training wasn´t good enough, so we will give another rider a chance to participate in the upcoming tours. He is a former rider for US Lecce.

Name: Wesley Sneijder

Sneijder is a nice rider i think, completely without any soft spots! But it's always nerving when the young talents exercise that bad!
Hopefully Sneijder let you forget Laviniere...

Milano-San Remo

One month, two big aims of this team. With Paris-Nîmes we could achieve two stage wins in a nice manner, now we are to discuss the first cycling monument of the early spring season: Milano-San Remo. A great race even though with few teams of three different parties: 1. BSE Marzahn - Merz Racing - Robyklebt, 2. Celtic Club - Los Galacticos, 3. LosTicos - Poison Dwarves - Wizards Cycling. I guess this explains the race quite good. The first party was trying (though Merz did not try too hard) to finish in a mass sprint, the second group (though Celtic had to go offline quite early in the race) wanted their hill sprinters to make it and the third group were the typical classic teams.
After a split by Sneijder at the Cipressa the sprinters were never to return, which was not to be expected, after the Valico le Manie was ridden too slow at all and the peloton stayed together. After breaking the peloton LosTicos, Poison Dwarves aswell as Wizards Cycling had four riders left. The deficits in sprint aswell as climbing became an advantage for our team since we did not have to ride at all. A mistake takes our chances finally: At the Poggio Kato, who was already working before, blocks the 4%. To do it better Basil needs to block and no rider should be in a wheel. Then we could´ve easily attacked in the downhill, since the winning group with Thomas Guggisberg and Teddy Epeho would not finish first with Basil blocking. There are more mistakes to list, but I guess this should be enough. A very good team presentation on this Saturday without the necessary balls to risk what you need to win. Next year will go better - for sure.
