Le Tour de France 2011 - 20h - Field 1 - First Stage
02.07.2011 19:30: The telephone rings ... the team manager who just came home around 10 o clock in the morning prepares for his first Grand Tour start ever.
Riding with a team built around Karl Falterhöcker and Daniel Exenberger the most obvious aims of the management are stagewins but the team also hopes to have a little look for green and 2 good GC places.

20:00 to 21:00: The race starts comfortably only a 4 riders group is attacking in the first kilometres and gains a maximum of about 12:30 mins which does not seem too much for the team manager hoping to get a little bit of help by Gonzos who also has chances today.

21:20: Gonzo doesnt arrive ... the team has to kill some of its riders totally to gain enough time on the group

21:40: On the last 3 before the finish the team management gives the order to attack with Falterhöcker and Valbuente from the field - Only 2 riders follow and there is a gap of 40 seconds

21:50: The Gap holds up and Karl Falterhöcker wins the first Grand Tour Stage for Team Chense

Total Result:
1. Karl Falterhöcker (Chense)
2. Enrique Muniz (Rhino Cycling) +0:08
3. Morgan Mugabe (francais) +0:32
4. Mate Ferenc (Team Phoenix) +0:32
13. Daniel Exenberger (Chense) +0:40
17. Stefano Valbuente (Chense) +0:41

Notable losses: Gonzos (87-57 61 TT and 86-60), Pirati (84-56 68 TT and 84-59), Maurice (79-51 78TT) have all lost 2:10 on Falterhöcker which means already 1:38 to the placed mountain riders.

More news to come when the manager has arrived at his own place again.

Some short update about the results for the Rest of July and the beginning of August:

Falter could not secure the green jersey and fell short to Rhino Cyclings 94 sprinter.

Then on the 31.07. the team headed to Poland for 7 days where we fought for white and gc ... finally we got noone of them:
Falter finished 3rd on the deciding stage which means he was overall 2nd place finisher in gc - Schadler got the 2nd place in the fight for white behind Ostis Loerts.

Today on 8th of August Mr. Josef Schadler gained his forst stagewin in a slightly chaotic hilly race with some paves in Britain ... Rüpel finished as a nice 4th and Falter got the 16th place (already 4:51 behind Josef)

Break for Team Chense: First only the team management wanted to go to Valle Senales for some thinking etc. but after the last good results we decided to allow the riders to come with us so the team will regenerate and have a break until the 15th of August or some days longer.
