super leistung ari. bist einer der besten bei RSF! Deine Fahrer sind in allen Jahrgängen immer genauso stark wie du es bist und diese Kombi ist kaum zu schlagen!

Roby posted 2 moths ago - did not realize that. but his hope of finally getting rid of the Ari-boys will not be fulfilled.

Ciganini unfortunatelly had to be sold, when realizing that there is no time for tours/RSF in May and June. good for Ciganini - now finally stranded in the harbour of Lecce he will for sure take the Vuelta win!

so the team will go on to his former appearance and will be focused on single races again. the team´s leader Gino Cutunio is on a good way - unfortunatelly stopped training when the first wins came. in Yesterday´s GP Plouay he already had to pay for this weakness when missing the first group after a brutal Nanni-Sieb and the front group around Cerro´s Palmarsson and daSilva was never seen again. Morani took second place in a win of OL´s Chellis.

After falling to Div.3 in June - the team was suprisingly able to remain in Div.3 in July without having raced in June. In August even a return in Div.2 seems to be possible thanks to Cutunio´s win in San Sebastian in a strong 2nd pelOton. So the team might go for peleton1 for the autumn clasics to take some wins over the petit singes...

Gino can´t win every sprint... Leinad´s Carlos Mosquerez unfortunately was stronger that day and took the win from Gino´s wheel.

with Gino not having the best legs and a lot of 70-70 sprinters in the peloton a group going on the last kilometers was not the worst thing for the Ariosteas having Angelo Morani in. in the sprint of a 16 men group Angelo took second behind Radunion´s Sobolev. nice win - close for Angelo.

with Gino still not having the best legs and Obasi (Dream Rider) and Teixeira (Paris XX) in the peloton both not known for being the best in cooperation the team decided to leave the first part of the work to their teams - result: the 1stkm attack of two RIDERS won the race by 8 minutes. winning sometimes can be so easy..


15.09. Grand Prix de Wallonie

the finish of the race showed to be too difficult for Nanni and Morani with a steep pave section on the last 2 km (5***,6**). neither Morani nor Nanni couldn´t follow the best riders, that day the strongest was Roby´s Chinese Qian. 10th place for Nanni.

another day for the "70-70 sprinters". not really a good sprint of Gino Cutunio and Obasi showed to be a lot stronger that day - but the win goes to Heidfeld Teixeira with the early Sprint. Morani 5th, Cutunio 8th.

Emil Karagjozew takes his first win - on Pave! an early group of four could bring 43 seconds to finish line and take a win over the pave specialist´s, who´s teams opened the chase too late. Emil with Form 91 suprisingly won the sprint of the group - respect! strong race by our bulgarian veteran.

a long way of 27km on flat terrain to go after the last hill and with the Alkworlds and Esteban Trueba in the peloton the Ariosteas decided once more not to chase the group and leave the work to the Alkis. the Alkis were afraid of having to race against everybody (the Olmses and Aris in first place) on the last km and decided not to chase as well. So the race was over for everybody behind after 90km when the front group had made it 20 minutes.

technical problems on the last kilometers - Morani should have taken this win. actually a strong race of our team. everywhere present in a strong pelOton i n a long race - but no internet on the last 3km. 2km before the finish alone in front with Cerro´s Palmarsson who is a strong guy but fairly missmatched in a sprint with Morani the race was more or less decided - but no tempo possible by Morani, Lindelöf came up and took the win in a close sprint. arrgh - ärgerlich.

the Ariosteas riding against the bunch sprint on a course where last part was mostly flat. The support in front was not the best - so the sprinter teams made it back. Wookies Pearson showed to be the strongest. Cutunio took 5th place.

a race with hard finish on the last 20 km, made for our team - Cutunio, Morani and Nanni made it in a small front group after the last climb - not many riders around, no problem for Gino and Morani.


23.9. Gp de Bielsko-Biala

a lot of work for the team again - and Gino blows the sprint. afraid of giving Gavazzi his wheel Gino took no wheel. With Morani out fo the race for opening the sprint - Gino decided to concentrate on Heidfeld´s Teixeira in the sprint. But Gavazzi takes the win with the early sprint.Teixeira and Cutunio waited too long.

25.9. Memorial Marco Pantani

the team started at it´s best and tried to make it a hard race right from the beginning in a race with a long 70km sector after the last climb. finally the sprinter´s teams around Gaurain, Sachsen Power and Petit Singe were down by 32 seconds. In the attacks that had to come at the end of the race from the front group a hard tempo set by a very strong Angelo Morani and Gino´s instict of taking the right wheel saved the win.

a close win over Berlin Marks Dino Mavric. during the stage having the work shared with the Berlin guys the Ariosteas tried to get a gap on Mavric and his team on the last climb by a hard Nanni-sieb. the plan worked out and both teams fought hard to hold/close the small gap of 5 in the end 3 seconds - but the attacks in the second group on the kilometer would have actually brought the gap down to nothing - but a Barlow attack in front followed by Gino saved 1 second and rescued the win. Mavric 7th by 1 second. a lucky win actually.

with the upcomming star in the hilly sprinter scene YewMeng Jamaludin (Team Lulu) in the peloton Angelo Morani got his chance for an attack on the last kilometers of a race that was actually made for sprinters but did not any sprinters at it´s start. Lulu´s Zulkefli actually a better sprinter than Morani is, refused to work - so Star Trek´s Spock and Motorizzati´s Loitzl could made it back to the front duo and the four reached the finish together. Morani won a very close sprint.

with Morgenstern and Cutunio being the favorites for a sprint the Ariosteas and the Oberrads did not succed to keep the bunch together on the last kilometers. Morani made it into the group of 7 made by the Wookies so the chances were still good for Ariosteas. unfortunately Angelo lost the fight for Brihi´s wheel against a strong Corey Barlow - so already for the the 2nd time in the month the Wookie´s take a close win over Angelo, who was convinced to take this win.

spring season 2011

March

traditionally racing one of the classic tours in March the Ariosteas had a good Paris - Nizza by winning 4 out of 8 stages of the race (2 Cutunio, 2 Nanni) and Gino taking the points jersey. also more or less traditionally the team was unfortunately not able to take part in the spring´s best classic of Milano - San Remo - very hard for all the Italians in the team.

April

Absolutely not traditionally for the team is taking wins in the Ronde and in Roubaix in April. What a month!

Ronde van Vlaanderen 03.04.11

as leaders set for the race were Raggi and Morani but our young Bulgarian took the win! and what a win! the attack at km 2 was good for the win - first only with a small gap and only joined by Claw´s Baumgartner later joined by RP´s Nordensköld and Peniata the four made it a bigger gap. the favorites in the peloton waited a few meters too long to start the chase and so the the group of the 3 could make it with a gap of just 4 seconds. Anev took control of the sprint and took the first win for the team in Flandern (ok - Poalini won it 2008 in peloton 2), where the win has been so close already twice before (Fondriest beaten by 1 second in 2007 and Kracholev loosing the sprint by inches in 2009).

Never close to the win the Ariosteas were in Roubaix. this year being an outsider team as usual a big group in the beginning of the race could make a huge gap of 25 minutes with Giovanni DellaRocca in the group for the Ariosteas. the chase in the peloton mainly organized by BSE did not really work as it should have. So 30 km before the finish it came clear the riders in front could seriously get their chance to win the race. With a lot of hard kilometers already in their legs the remaining cobblestones made the group smaller and smaller, especially with Alkworld´s Vargas fighting hard for the win on the last kilometers. Only DellaRocca and Adler´s Agondo could follow his attackes and Giovanni taking the sprint on the Velodrom of Roubaix with the last he got in his legs. what a win! actually unbelievable - dellaRocca not being known for strong pave riding at all so far, he now clearly is the Pave star on the team.

the season highlight for Cutunio and most of the team´s riders with good form at start of Amstel the race was dominated by a hell strong TVE team - who seemed to be doped over the top on this day. So the Ariosteas really started to fear a strong attack of TVE´s Niederer in the finish. So it was not really a good sign Cutunio had to fight hard to stay in the front group on the Keutenberg, Aldelio falling back there and not being able to make it back against the TVE train and Nanni not looking like having the legs to block attacks on the Cauberg near the finish. But finally the race turned out to be far open on the Cauberg as it has been every year - another rider taking Nanni´s Job of blocking the attacks on the Cauberg and no attack really going far away on the last kilometer it turned out to be Cutunio being the strongest in a sprint of a group of 25 riders. strong win by Gino! and already the 3rd big win for the team in April.

with Nanni having his best legs the Ariosteas had good hope for taking another strong result at L-B-L too. But having riders like Purnomo, Leso´s Levasseur, Berlin Marks Kruycks and Elstrom of Pedrocito in the race (all of them 76 mountain and 60+ Sprint) and very strong support for the hills it came clear it would be everything else than easy to win the race in Ans for Nanni against this group of strong classic riders who would make it back for sure after an attack in the last hills and still being able of riding a good sprint all of them. A quite race in the beginning started to be more interesting with an attack of Leso´s Tanguy after 50 kilometers which formed a group of 10 riders, with Anev for Ariosteas (again) looking for another surprising big win. With Team Lulu behind refusing to work the chances for the group actually were good but they blew it in the end by waiting one for the other to speed it up. So the peloton came back right in time and Lulu´s Purnomo turned out to be the strongest of classic riders of the day - beating a strong Nanni in a 2men sprint only by inches in Ans. So another good result for the team but too close to the win for being really pleased with it.

but - what a month! more or less accidently the team will probably make it back to Div.1 after having not been there for exactly 1 year. but for sure this will change again soon and the team will go there where it belongs and where real star teams of RSF are in - to the Wurstdivisions.


p.s.: the only rider beside Purnomo who could take a win in April so far against the unbeatable April-Ari´s was Roby´s Qian - in a sprint! pah!
