Jeff Joker with 2nd career win

At Tour de Hainan Jeff Joker was able to win the 5th part of the race. He is in the race for the green jersey now. Great job against strong opponents, the team is very proud of him.

Must have been the confidence-boost he got when I was sitting :)

Jeff Joker with 2nd stage win taking over points classement

Jeff Joker was able to also win the 7th stage of Tour of Hainan. After hard climbs and high pace in the first half of the stage one double-attack of Wizards Cycling flat riders helped to distance Saywer and Pawlow, his competitors for stages and especially the points classement. Joker won the stage and is on a good way for the green jersey.

Joker wins three and green, Zézé best young rider

The probably most successful tour for the Wizards Cycling squad 2011 ended right now. On the last part Jeff Joker won his 3rd stage and by that also the points classement. Zézé Eesinck became best young rider of the peloton. Barney Stinson sacrificed his podest for helping Joker win the points classement probably by getting rid of Pawlow and Sawyer on part 7 of Tour of Hainan. Thanks for a great peloton, and don't worry that the Wizards will be weaker next time. For sure we will

Team sell-out

Today all riders of the team Wizards Cycling were sold. It's just not worth holding riders without giving them a chance to win as much races as they could while being online for 1/4th of a whole stage race. I might rebuy young riders in the coming days or weeks, but I don't know if I'm gonna ride again during the next months.

Pfui! Stop providing Bergwerk with bad guys who always want to beat Omar and the other cool apes! Ok, they beat nice Omar with you too, damn Eddy!
But no time for stage races... ok, but why not keep somebody like Joker? For occasional 1 day races? With "only" 92 he risks not finding a team for a while anyway unfortunately.

Yes I know. I was thinking of keeping especially Joker, but I don't know... I rather want him to have the chance to straight away find a team. He's a good downhiller, he has much potential though 92, so give him that chance.

Revolution!

Today was announced that Adam Wollfinger has taken over Eugen deBoer's place as Wizards Cycling chairman. deBoer's conservative managing was considered as too outfashioned. Wollfinger quickly agreed to take over. Therefore, we can now show the new team:

Captains:

Zachary Soneau (BEL), 20 years, 72-56-61-53-58, 60 Reg (60.8 Pavés)
Pietr Sykora (CZE), 21 years, 59-66-56-77-66, 35 Reg (62.7 Pavés)

Valuable helpers:

Pakke Adlung (SWE), 21 years, 47-77-67-55-57, 41 Reg (77.3 Pavés)
Dries Ickx (BEL), 29 years, 63-84-63-66-53, 35 Reg (80.1 Pavés)
Arno Wollfinger (CZE), 21 years, 59-76-55-49-57, 58 Reg (76.9 Pavés)

Helpers:

Alexandré Albany (SUI), 28 years, 53-78-72-50-53, 52 Reg (70.2 Pavés)
Armand Annosoun (FRA), 25 years, 43-77-71-49-53, 38 Reg (69.2 Pavés)
Alan Bosh (USA), 21 years, 46-76-54-49-54, 37 Reg (68.5 Pavés)
Renzo Spezileziatti (ARG), 26 years, 56-83-72-46-43, 35 Reg (72.8 Pavés)
Fred Sullivan (IRL), 24 years, 50-83-58-75-51, 40 Reg (77.0 Pavés)

Further rider information will be published over the holidays.

As you may see, the team's specialization goes back to the roots. Hills, pavés, classics.

Thanks for the welcome back, but I probably will only try to go for the pavés fantasy classics in December and then see what January brings.... and yes, wanted to write something for the Joker-victory, but then I've seen you didn't even mention it in the short report I've last read about Yemen :o

Arno Wollfinger takes yellow, green and white at Sachsen-Pavés

Stage 1 of Sachsen-Pavés 2012, Arno Wollfinger was able to win the sprint because of lacking attacks, aggressiveness and someone in his wheel. By this he takes the leader's jersey and will try to defend it as long as he can. Though he can probably lose it tomorrow already.

Sachsen-Pavés: 4th, 5th and young riders' classement

Easily Arno Wollfinger could defend his white jersey until the last day of Sachsen-Pavés. The 22 year old also won our first stage in 2012. Captain Dries Ickx was able to finish 4th in general, also Pakke Adlung and Fred Sullivan did great jobs in terms of aggressiveness and TT skills. The tour was a full success and completes Wizards Cycling's financially best month in team history.

Soneau for his 2nd young riders' classement

Allthough the team has missed the first stages and didn't take the chance to get a possible stage win, Zachary Soneau was easily able to win the young riders' classement at Ruta del Sol making it a profitable tour.

Sykora with an eye for early sprint

Today was Classic Haribo and tomorrow would come Omloop. So the team was up to warm-up in France. The first sieb-chance was missed, and the classic group couldn't cooperate. At the last hill Soneau splitted the peloton and many riders in front started to ride. From Wollfinger's wheel Sykora was able to take the win, after the sprinter group including BSE Marzahn and Team Franconia were surprisingly beaten for 1 second due to a 1%km before the finish line.

Classic season 2012

Omloop Het Nieuwsblad (cat. 4): Arno Wollfinger takes the 3rd after a rather boring race. A group of over 15 riders arrived together in the finish.
Autour de Bruxelles (cat. 2): DNS
Monte Paschi Eroica (cat. 3): Many passive teams, so we take the tempo. Early sieb to get rid of the flat experts, expected betty with the hillpower to ride a fast race afterwards. He didn't, so certainly many riders stayed in front. In the late race, Ickx and Sullivan sieb, afterwards go for the attack. Arno is in the wrong wheel and out. After all, Freudenfeuer wins after a Km 1-escape to take the win due to passive riding of many co-favourites. Ickx 7th, Sullivan 8th.
Rond om Nokere (cat. 2): Weak race.
Milano-San Remo (cat. 6): DNS
Dwaars Door Vlaanderen (cat. 3): Arno Wollfinger ends 3rd after strong attempts from Wizards Cycling.
GP Harelbeke (cat. 5):
Gent-Wevelgem (cat. 5):
Ronde van Vlaanderen (cat. 6):
Scheldeprijs (cat. 4):
Paris-Roubaix (cat. 6):
Amstel Gold Race (cat. 5):
Tro Bro Leon (cat. 3):
Fleche Wallonne (cat. 5):
Liege-Bastogne-Liege (cat. 6):

Wouldn't be too sure about Tro Bonbon cat 3.... if leso finally finally comes to his senses it should be cat 2!
Harelbeke/E3 on the other hand will be cat 5. It's in the WT now, upgrade is normal.
Oh, Scheldeprijs, cat 4
Bruxelles 2? Should be 3 IMO. In fact it is.

The anal Ape goes looking for other errors in other press centers now.

10 out of 92

Wizards Cycling has an aim for 2012. On the way to race no. 1000 we want to make the 100th stage win, also get our 10th stage race win. We're up for it, 92 races are left. The first of them will be Rond om Nokere today, maybe we can win here?

had the same idea some month ago but doesn't look so optimistic any more, would need 18 out of 57 now
