Yes please, Bürgi should just ride some tours against Peter, he can teach him how to take his wheel to win

And yes, I really wanted to stick to the climbers, but both very average training, with their starting skills there had to be some better training performance to really win something, else you see only top 5 classement positions and horrible financial lacks... and yes, van Amstel btw my training favourite! Though for his skills he doesn't win as much as he should
Well, in fact I am just weak this year, didnt win anything so far in comparison to glory 2010.

well think that Eddys training was more the higher average, 86 at 27? not that bad. Andrew not that bad either but okay, both with big reg very expensive even if they are not world class. But Eddy could still win Tours with his TT skill and also maybe a stage here and then. There are not that many really great climbers by now. But without those climbers the teambuilding for classic oriented team much easier, more really good helpers 60-80s and stuff like that. With my 2 climbers this year most of the time. just 1 classical rider, 1 good 60-80, 1 good flatrider thats all of my quality riders, then this Hugendubels and Mikulastiks, Kibilius' and Keagans just to keep the salary as low as possible. And my team getting older and older.

Yes that's the point. When I look back to when my team was most successful it's probably not strong leaders (though one good rider was always in there) but especially rather expensive helpers.. maybe should go back to this!

New rider for August

Since we didn't get the rider we wanted we took the chance to buy another one. Decent skills, finally again a good downhill rider, that's nice. And a cool name aswell, so he's got all we want.

pah, i liked eddy and stockdale, ok one gone why not, but now the second... pff. not training well, yeah, eddy not a superstar.. but stockdale with his 6x tt was good, too much reg to stay cheap, but who wants to be cheap when you can win? classique riders are for trouserboys, plus they are lazy, see alighieri.

deRoemer: "We will remember this day as the national 'Skullz predicted the wrong winner' day"

Awesome night for the Lizards in San Sebastian: Current world champion Tom van Amstel was able to break the curse of the rainbow jersey and made his first win after the world championship by defended last years' teams' trophy in the classic race Classica San Sebastian. After Clausen has beaten once only there Emanuele Terranova, vanAmstel was able to payback Volosjuk for the very nice stage win at De Panne's first stage 2011. Of course there is no trouble between the riders, vanAmstel even said: "Vitali is a little older than me and earlier in my career I could learn much from his races, he was a very talented rider early in his career." For now the whole Netherlands-trip ends after the way back home with winning San Sebastian, Lizard likey!

Two in a row: Peter takes Yellow, Green and Stage in Poland

First stage of Tour de Pologne, and after years we guess it's the first time a rider of Wizards Cycling can get the first stage of a tour and we start tomorrow with three jerseys. Jeff Joker was able to sprint for 10th taking the white jersey for the best young rider, Peter takes his 3rd professional victory. A great start in this tour after winning San Sebastian yesterday, we hope it continues like this!

1st time 14 riders in 5 years team history. Did we finally stop raping finances?

Marvin Nieuwendyk joins the squad today. The young flat rider will be another good helper for the sprinters and a man for early work during tours. Here are some data:

Jeff Joker new sprint star?

Already as neopro Jeff Joker was able to win a stage and the points classement at the Caucasus tour. Now with 22 years of age he is by far the most successful US-american U25 rider and into the current Top 10 of the US-boys. We hope he will be nominated for the coming world championships to show if he's got more aces in his sleeves left to be taken.

Peter is also still there: 4th career win

28 years old dutch sprinter Peter de Vlamingh was today able to win at the single race Dwars Door De Antwerpse Kempen in front of NoPikouze's french sprinter Patrick Bruel. The one day race was Peter's fourth career win. After the race he said: "I am very happy to win today. It isn't a special or important race, but after many disappointments in the last days the win means much to me. I can still win, and I want to win more. I'm on my top and want to show it once again!" We will see at the Vuelta where Peter wants to run for Wizards Cycling aswell. Congrats to Peter!

Tom rides for maillot jaune

At Tour de Limousin Tom van Amstel, our classic captain, did a fine though insufficient job on the first stage. He made up for it on stage 2 winning in front of Slevin McGuigan and takes Yellow and Green for tomorrow. Congrats for the stage, Tom has chances for another win possibly so we will do everything to keep him in the race.

van Amstel for general and points classement

Tour de Limousin came to be a great victory. A big financial plus and great success. One stage, the general classement and the points classement went all to Tom van Amstel who was the little dominator in France. We are very proud of his success and looking forward to the Vuelta a Espana.

van Amstel finally with Vuelta stage win

A financially and in terms of prestige horrible tour for the Wizards finally gets a stage win. After several days of hard work van Amstel took a deserved stage for the team which finally lets us relax a little now. Not more to say though ..

Vuelta a disaster

At this years' Vuelta a Espana finally Wizards Cycling returned after skipping last years' race. The race though was a disaster for the team. All in all we got 2 stage wins, one by Stinson, one by van Amstel. Possible have been probably 7 or 8 wins but then again almost any time possible the riders were able to finish 2nd in every sprint. Three 2nds in mass sprints, three then in classic races. Horrible tactics and riding by the team manager aswell. So all in all, in a weak field Wizards Cycling showed a weak performance aswell. Now it's time to look forward to make it better in the future.

More like I can't remember a GT that wasn't declared a disaster by him :D
But started with his sprinter, good! Next time it will work.

Not true. Giro 2009 was superb, got a stage (didnt expect it) and got 2nd. Vuelta 2009 also good, 5 wins and two days gold jersey. Though the last tours were a disaster because of weak team managing. And that makes a tour bad after all.

No races for Lizards?

Due to my working conditions right now I will probably not be able to ride more than 1-3 races each week, also meaning there is no big chance for even a little tour. Very very sad, grrr. Top motivated and no chance to show it :D

Team to stop racing?

Okay, right now it even gets worse... this week is like the busiest in my life, I don't know if afterwards I'll be able to ride races... my last was like 10 days ago already, no time anymore at all. It could be that I need to sell the old riders and restart riding at another time...

Tom van Amstel sold

Wizards' classic rider of the season, Tom van Amstel was sold. The first world champion of our team will be honoured in the hall of fame for achieving this special victory. He also repeated the victory at San Sebastian from Manuel Clausen and won stages at two Grand Tours. For sure he won less than possible, e.g. his 3rd place at Amstel Gold Race where he could've won, if only 1sec faster... nevertheless, he was a great rider, training hero (started by 54-72-74-50-64) and we will really miss him. He kind of was the heart of this team during the last year, maybe from feelings even more than Clausen was though by far not as successful. Thank you Tom for 14 months in business, we appreciate your work and hope we can find someone at least close to your classy riding!
