Re: Team Franconia

Post by Rockstar Inc » Sat Jan 21, 2012 3:09 am

After disappointing results and improvement in the training young sprinter Wolmar Ehrensvärd had to leave the team last night. He's the 4th of the last 5 attempts to create a strong sprinter from the youth-class who had to leave the team before he went 24. Only Paulino Varela survived the big requirements and payed it back with 19 victories and 5 point jerseys till now. Should be a signal for young guns: "Train well, improve enough and you get a hell of a team around you to be successfull".

With the money earned for selling Ehrensvärd the reigning time trial champion of the world Lars Peterson from Denmark joined the team. He rounds up our squad and is bought to deliver results in the spring and in the middle of 2012. Peterson told the management that he would love to ride San Luis for the team, but the decision was another one. Peterson will ride his first races in our jersey in february.

Giro Padania 2012, one stage win for Jack Marston, but no chance to win the point-classment, cause at the other sprints Marston wasn't able to get on the podium

13th classic victory for the team, "Shoot-Out" Jack Marston delivered at the GP de Fourmies. He repeated the victory of Pawel Raczinski from 2008 and topped the 2nd position of Paulino Varela in 2011.

Rockstar Inc will participate at single races the next days, Tour of Britain skipped cause of the classics and semi-classics. a start at Hokkaido is possible, maybe the team chooses the ITT at the isle of man as preparation for Durbo for the worlds

Fantastic result at Franco-Belge for the 23-year old Sprinter Nathan Bloodgood, not only 2 stages and the youth-jersey, no also the precious point-jersey and as masterpiece the yellow-jersey could be brought home. At the last stage a group of classic-riders finished 5 seconds in front of the Bloodgood-Group, but fortunately young Wladyslaw Luschnyj from Freudenfeuer wasn't able to win the stage, with a victory he would have stripped Bloodgood from 2 jerseys.

Next new signing, Ted Blatchford joins the team next to his former teammember Jeremy Renner. Blatchford and Renner rode together in the junior-class and are now reunited as Pros at Rockstar Inc. Blatchford got next to his brilliant riding in flat terrain a strong sprintskill and will have several rolls in the team, from earning some money in the sprints to "be a pain in the ass" of attackers everything is possible. Also a leader-position in the next spring is possible, at least in the lighter pave-races.

October, Paris-Tours all over. 3rd victory is the clear objective, next to the US Nats and maybe some good results in Beijing

Time Trial Machine Luke Durbridge left the team this evening, his plans for the future were too different from the visions of the team management. Durbridge was handed out his papers and released after he or maybe his new team payed the release-fee. Durbo won two stages, 2 young-rider jerseys and the Elk Grove Tour in his younger years. A start at the worlds in the netherlands wasn't possible thx to a useless manager called pirati who didn't line-up a team, neither for the TT nor for the road-race.

October, Paris-Tours all over. 3rd victory is the clear objective, next to the US Nats and maybe some good results in Beijing

After a disappointing season Jack Marston was able to deliver. The team could ride in full-strength with 13 riders and controlled the peloton and get the sprint. In the sprint Bloodgood led-out Marston who was able to cross the line first. Marston will wear the us national jersey for the next three seasons.

Only three victories for the team led to result which is and can't be the objective for the team. The management had a meeting with the DS and the riders where this season was reviewed and analysed.

New Signing for November, Sam Witwer will join the team and will be addition to the depth of team, other then most of the other riders he will focus on light hilly terrain, to be a successfull adding to the team.

Nathan Bloodgood won two stages and the point-jersey at the tour of moldova. Due bad weather conditions the hilly stage has to be cancelled, therefore no chance for Ahmed Thutamt to ride for a stage or for Bloodgood to earn another 10 seconds with a victory in a reduced sprint. 10 more seconds and Bloodgood would have reached a podium-spot in the GC.
At stage 1 is was a good cooperation with team burton and team cheers and Bloodgood took the wheel of Clancey(Luebeck-Oilers) and stage 2 was controlled by Team Ruhrgebiet for his time trial rider, who should win the GC later with a victory in the 2nd half-stage, in the sprint all contendes watched each other, so 50 meter sprint and Bloodgood was able to win a second time and secured the green-jersey.

Still looking for some new recruitments. Another young sprinter and another type of rider are still to come. The management is waiting for the right moment to sign. Money is on the bank and some retirements are close.

Anson Mount signed as new sprinter for the team. The negotiations with the rider were really short, the main problem was to release Mount from USA Cycling where he was under contract. The fee was the main factor, but the team and USA Cycling were able to make a deal were both sides are satisfied with.

Disappointing Tour of Kiwis, only one stage-win for Marston in really strong group, in every other group 3 or maybe 4 stages would have ended in a sprint, here only the 2nd one.

Sterling West won his first race at the previous Tour of Maroc, where he was able to sneak into the win at stage 1 out of an early breakaway and kept the green jersey for three days. Thutamt got a Top 20 position in the GC, but nothing to report more about it.

Finally success is back where it belongs. Nathan Bloodgood was able to win the Point Jersey and one stage at the Tour of Kerela. Pos 3 at stage one and a well-timed sprint-victory at stage four brought him enough points to win the jersey against Appa Sherpa(Alpha Centauri) and Lucien Pinder(Oxfam International).
It was the 316th victory and the 61th point-jersey for the team, Bloodgood got his 7th stage-win, his 3rd point-jersey and crossed the 3.000 eternal points.

Tom Henderson signed a contract with Rockstar Inc some days ago. Henderson is another flat rider with good abbility in hilly terrain, he will be a good add for the next seasons. Skills: 53/74/71/54/53, Pave 67,2 and Regeneration 52.

Ahmed Thutamt left the team at the 28th of November, he was under contract from 22.07. till 28.11. He was a very relyable helper for the sprinters and got himself one palmares-entry, a 3rd place in the GC of the small tour "Correze. Best Skills: 74/80/56/49/50.

The Team will skip the Tour of Japan and participate instead at a few smaller tours and some single-races. Teambuilding and preparation for the new real season, starting in january

Very different opinions and statements could be heard after the Ijen-Tour. Some say: "hey we won a stage + the youth-jersey, so it was a success", others say: "we missed our main-objective, the point-jersey, so it was a big fail.
Nathan Bloodgood won the opening stage, but was stripped of the jersey at the last stage due a weak sprint at the final stage. Opposite feelings for young rider Sam Witwer, Witwer was able to win the youth-jersey at the age of 21. He was able to hang on the group of Bloodgood at the hilly stage and earned 2 bonus-seconds at the last stage which gave him a 2 second lead in this classment.

Another new signing, young us-guy Misha Collins got his contract at the 4th of december. Collins has a great recuperation and a hopefully soon a big engine at flat terrain.
Jared Padalecki is now the last dinosaur from the great 2011/2012 flat-crew. According to himself he got some good performances left in his tank. The management will decide from day to day how long he will remain in the team, depends on the possible replacements at the transfer-market or youth-market.

Jack Marston added two more green jerseys and 3 stage-wins to his palmares after the Tour du Laos + Sri Lanka Tour. Both tours quiet hilly or mountainous so the team focused on the flaststages and were successfull with it. Jack Marston lacked results, it was almost a whole month ago when he won a stage at the tour of kiwis, so it was important for him to manifest his position as nr. 1 sprinter in the team.

Colin Cunningham won his first race and repeated the victory from of Paris-Roubaix Winner Luiz Muchacho at Pavés de Noel. Cunningham survived all ascents and the pave-parts and attacked out of a small group a handfull km before the finish, he kept away the chasing pack and rode alone to the finish.
