Vikings Berlin

Post by Berlin Marks » Mon Jul 21, 2025 12:52 pm

Okay let’s bring back the Team presentation, since we can finally say we are back and staying. In the past we had like 45 comebacks and always disappeared again after 10 races.

Now we are back since January and we still have fun. We survived this comeback with a div 6 market where all riders been deleted from the market. So we bought youth riders and had a lot of patience for those 2-3 month until our youth riders became big boys.
Our Headquarter will still be in Ljubljana, Slovenia and since with a Belgian touch of riders as we had
in the past.

We also got a new Jersey:

Our riders:

Remcothe remcodeThys or even called „the downtraining guy“.
Current skills
79-69-76-50-57 39 reg

Down trained already: 2 times downhill, 4 times TT and 2 times sprint. 26 years old. He studied IT, that’s where the first nickname come from.
He’s our Leader for short tours and classic day one races

Jula „Maverick“ Mavric - 26 years current Slovenian National Champion
Current skills
67-69-78-50-75 47 reg

Our leader for sprints on hilly stages. Our plan was that he train as well as his dad did. Dino Mavric became 72-73 with 77 sprint on his best days. Let’s see how far Jula can go with a bit luck on training days.

Andreas Möller - 33 years
Current skills
77-78-57-54-65 42 reg
In the end of last season we got a shot on Andi at the transfermarket with a reduced purchase. I guess we could have got him even cheaper, but we wanted to give him form setting at least. So we got him for 1,7 mio.
Yes, he’s old. But we wanted to give him the opportunity to be a leader since he was only a helper in Team Allrad. With Remco we have a really good Duo for a few months

Lucas Leclercq - 25 Years
Current skills
69-79-72-51-59 50 reg
Our young classic rider, we hope with 59 sprint he will get some shots for stage wins too. At least he needs a bit luck on training to become a real 70-80 rider.

Andrej Novak - 22 Years
Current skills
62-77-61-47-54 37 reg
Another cheap young classic with a bit lack of flat skill. He will be mainly a helper on one day races with his low reg skill.

Johann Koch - 21 years
Current skills
57-76-73-54-66 51 reg
Future captain on classic stages. He started with 54-73-73 and 66 sprint. Trained +3 mo, +3 fl so far. We are still not sure if we go for >90% flat next month or >90% mountain. Probably mountain and hope for luck on the flat side

Amadeus Pichler - 28 years
Current skills
60-85-74-51-53 57 reg
He’s our allround helper with high reg to keep the peloton together or bringing back our captains.

Marcel Vukovic - 27 years
Flat helper
Current skills
51-86-57-49-55 37 reg

Nic Bizjak - 29 years
Flat helper
Current skills
46-83-67-52-40 35 reg

Pretty new in our team is:

Willi Mitlehner - 22 years
Current skills
49-72-72-49-54 61 reg
we bought him on a reduced purchase of 1 Mio, he’s a cheap helper in the flat and the first rider who rides in the peloton on tours, his high reg helps

Léopold Meunier - 20 years
Starting skills:
55-71-75-77-61 reg 39
Our new future leader. He’s the first rider for our team with this profile of a rider. Our goal will that he becomes a 7x-7x-78 with 8x TT. Only 39 reg which makes him a bit cheaper, but he will need team member who gonna ride for him. With 61 sprint he also will get some shots on stage wins

We are still unsure how we should train him. Mountain and TT would make most of sense we think. Trying to get 2-4 more flat points at the age of 22 is also possible, but is it worth it to train flat instead of TT in his second year. We will see.

Stay tuned

Good and solid teambuild, but you will be expensive pretty soon. Try to add some 25-30k salary riders and maybe a good sprinter to make money. Good luck my friend

Thank you! Yes it’s planned to get some cheap helper and maybe a sprinter again. Maybe like Bob. 75-80 flat and 80-85 sprint. :) but first we need some money again. Sold my sprinter and a helper to get Léopold

Project Leopold: first jersey, podiums … and big changes coming?

Post by Berlin Marks » Sun Aug 24, 2025 12:25 pm

The first half of August really didn’t go our way – the Tour de Pologne was a disaster. Being offline too often due to the manager’s job meant we completely missed some decisive moments.

But things turned around in Denmark: Léopold won the white jersey at the Danmark Tour and finished a strong 4th overall – a big step forward for him.

Mannschaftswertung: OMG Berlin
Jungfahrertrikot: Léopold Meunier (Vikings Berlin)
Sprinttrikot: Marco Petros (Pokemonogatari)
Mountain Jersey: Thomas Aebersold (Hansa)
01. 00:00:00 HerbertGeorge Wells (Alkworld)
02. 00:00:01 Stefanos Tzimas (Narrenparty)
03. 00:00:02 Jonas Hopfenstein (OMG Berlin)
04. 00:00:44 Léopold Meunier (Vikings Berlin)

—————————————————————————————————

At the Hamburg Cyclassics, Jula Mavric grabbed 3rd place. Let’s be honest, the “trick sprint” was more embarrassing than glorious – but hey, it’s still a podium.

01. 00:00:00 Raphael Schlattinger (Hansa)
02. 00:00:00 Alex Alailefaleula (Team FL)
03. 00:00:00 Jula Mavric (Vikings Berlin)
04. 00:00:00 Baltazar Latczewski (Atletico Lula)
05. 00:00:00 Aashirman Joshi (SV Furpach)

—————————————————————————————————————
Amadeus Pichler got it just right in his race Coswig - Wittenberg. He managed to find the perfect wheel, and with a bit of luck FC Porto kept the speed high on the final kilometer. Amadeus then launched his sprint and came away with the win – strong stuff!

01. 00:00:00 Amadeus Pichler (Vikings Berlin)
02. 00:00:00 Filip Droppa (F C PORTO)
03. 00:00:01 Natalija Nedaschkiwska (stevens)
04. 00:00:01 Zarek Molko (PandaCycling)
05. 00:00:01 Okabe Rintaro (stevens)

—————————————————————————————————————

Big changes soon???

Meanwhile, the rumor mill is heating up. Word is there could be a major shake-up in the team. Apparently, Mavric, Remco, and Möller might all be leaving – the idea being to bring in proper support for Leopold, while also trimming the budget to keep building towards Project Leopold in the coming months.

On the shopping list: two classics riders, a cheap domestique, and a veteran sprinter.

Bye bye Remco

Remco’s Last Dance

Result – 2025-08-25, 21h, Leipzig–Jena
00:00:00 Remco Thys (Vikings Berlin)
00:00:00 Thanasis Phaiax (Crazy Vikings)
00:00:02 Remi VanVreckom (Fraegg)
00:00:02 Robin Kool (RideforMoney)
00:00:02 Andreas Möller (Vikings Berlin)

And so the announced shake-up begins. Yesterday, Remco rode his final race for Vikings Berlin – and he left in style. In Leipzig–Jena, he jumped on Phaiax’s attack (Crazy Vikings) and the duo worked together brilliantly. With a bit of luck (and a somewhat sleepy peloton behind), Remco had just enough left in the tank to outsprint him at the line. A farewell victory, fitting for a true leader.

For a moment, we hoped this might change the inevitable “release drama”… but it wasn’t to be. Letting Remco go was a tough decision: he’s been a true captain, always putting the team first. And of course, who could forget his legendary downtraining sessions – eight times reducing skills before even turning 26! A true cycling4freaks original.

His palmarès with us: two stage wins and one overall victory.
Not the biggest numbers, but Remco’s value went far beyond stats – a rider who gave us character and stability when we needed it most. Known in the team bus for his battle cry: “Better slow and steady than not steady at all!”

We thank you, Remco, for your time in the blue and gold. May your next team give you the platform to unleash your full potential. Until then, your last dance will always be remembered.
