bergwerk / newbie GoAussies

Post by Gipfelstuermer » Tue Jan 16, 2024 5:29 pm

As FPC member I would like to protect the newbie GoAussies (13 races) from the below:
bergwerk(15:59): such a team is really shit for a tour ... chaos would be Programm ... so really better he will stay off ... for a 1-day-race ok, but not for a whole tour
Gipfelstuermer(15:32): The guy seems to be hard to beat. I wish other teams would quit because I am there ;-)
r TAKA(14:46): Literally quit because of goaussies but he's not even there
bergwerk GoAussies 0 what a fuc........g team!!??? sell sprinters, buy helpers ... so not nice
Situation: GoAussies brought a relatively strong sprint train with relatively weak helpers. He was offline the first stage. bergwerk won the stage.

Everyone can have their opinion about team building, sprint trains, etc, but I think those comments are unacceptable, especially vs. a newbie. I don't know if he has a forum account or does even know how FPC works, so I open the thread for him.

I let other FPC members decide whether it's worth opening a case and I will abstain from the Voting.

Can we IP check this "newbie"

Last race I had with him(he also won), he was offline for 59% off the race. A newbie coming back just in time? Possible but unlikely.

2023-11-27 bergwerk GoAussies 0 start again with a TEAM not only Sprinters plz .. and play on and ask

We are checking for multi accounts on a regular basis. For example, last year, we solved 36 (!) multi account cases in FPC. This year, already another 3.

The meaning of the words you have used is similar in German and English. Just think about if you would want others to use the German words to describe your team.

It feels like bergwerk didn't use those awful words to describe the team but used it to describe the tour when such a team is there.

Personally don't even see the insults here. BWs English is shit though, so maybe he wanted to?! His clarification isn't leaning into this direction though.

"Such a team is really shit for a tour" - I mean, yes. Factually correct statement. It leaves Aussie with all the work alone or coukd create complete chaos. Alternatively people work for Aussies pretty save win because the sprint system is 99% predictable.

"What a fucking team. Sell this, buy that". Another statement I can get behind and don't see the slightest insult. His team is terrible. Truly fucking shit.

I could even try to argue that what BW does here is the opposite of insulting. He's trying to help. In his bad English and he uses some curse words. Shit, f-ing, dumm. Ok, bad words, we don't like to see here. You're getting the point across, slowly but surely.

A final word. RSF is a relatively easy to "destroy" a race. May it be whats/bitiberts mass tempo and IM stealing, Enzanos non stop siebing every mountain, or Aussies mega train. I hope none of you are stuck in a tour with someone who just doesn't care.

It's easy to write about creating solutions. But we've been in all in situations where we cried first and tried finding solutions later if at all. Some even celebrated bugs. ;)

I fully support getting behind newbies. I fully oppose teams which are here to destroy.

GoAussies still just has 13 races to the point. He has been accussed of destroying a whole tour before the tour has started and quick accused him of being a multi without any evidence. What's bothering me is the harsh way of how bergwerk told him that his team building is bad. He already had him in the race once (?) and already lost all patience, while literally any afternoon team is explaining bergwerk how the sprint system works since months, not being ultra impolite (ok making fun of him for not getting it after beeing told multiple times), never using words like that. Not knowing the language well is no apology for insults in general (see RABO case).

I hardly see a personal insult here too, but addressing the general way to protect a newcomer might still be worth this topic.

easiest way i can think of is a (general) transfer restriction to not allowing you to buy another 83+ sprinter if you already have 2 83+

that part of the discussion is probably more suited for a different section of the forum tho

Punkt.

Just for the protocol: FPC has decided to cancel this case. GoAussis does not seem to be offended and bergwerk explained his thoughts and was reasonable about it.

Still, try to be respectful to each other even it a player is not playing the way you expect him to, as long as it is not against the rules. And remember, bad teams may only see obstacles while good teams see opportunities.
I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said.
