Market Manipulation by Los Chicos & fantasticos

Post by Gipfelstuermer » Sat Mar 02, 2019 6:47 pm

FPK announces the following penalties:

Los Chicos: BAN
fantasticos: PENALTY SUBMITTED: FINE OF750000, WARNING: YES

Short grounds for the judgement:
fantasticos used Los Chicos Account to buy riders from the transfer market. We did not classify this as a multi-case, but as market manipulation, which is unfair behavior as well. As such, the penalty for fantasticos is a fine, but no ban. Los Chicos got banned to prevent the same thing happening in the future.

A bit of background on this:
FPK has enhanced the multi-account detection and does not only rely on reports from players, but can create cases itself. As such, we have several cases pending. However, please continue to report any suspicious activity by creating cases in this forum. FPK cannot observe everything in the game.

What's the difference between market manipulation (like in this case) and multi accounting?
Is it another word for "farming with a second team"?

And does Los Chicos having been fantasticos partner in bug-using in this case
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5444
an influence on this case?

Well, obviously all of the three things involve unfair usage of a second account. Trying to define the three things:

multi accounting = usage of a second team, typically for racing
market manipulation = bidding on / buying riders from transfer market only to disturb other players
farming = buying riders from transfer market in order to sell them to your own team later in the process

So yes, if you want so, market manipulation and farming only makes sense with a second team, so they are basically sub-categories of multi-accounting. In this special case, the statements of fantasticos and the usage of los chicos were credible enough, that the main purpose of the multi-accounting was not the market manipulation but the creation of a second team for los chicos, so basically unfair sitting. Overall, the intent of the market manipulation was not very strong. (There are different categories of "intent" in the law as well, e.g. indirect intent, conditional intent, wilful intent, ...) Having said that, 750k is still a significant fine, we hope.

Of course we take into account everything we know about a team.

Answer very confusing in this part:
that the main purpose of the multi-accounting was not the market manipulation but the creation of a second team for los chicos, so basically unfair sitting.
So los chicos has a first team and fantasticos tried to build him a second team? :?:
Then what's the first team of los chicos? (If that's information that can be made public)

ok ok ok, let me rephrase that: the main purpose of the multi-accounting was not the market manipulation but the creation of a new (not second) team, i.e. 9 riders, for los chicos, so basically unfair sitting.
