RSF Against VPNs

Post by luques » Sun Oct 14, 2018 6:03 pm

Hello everybody!

This time talking about something serious as I am thinking to limit the access from well knows VPNs and Proxies.
What I would like to limit, especially, is letting people change their IP nation too often.
So that if you are caught being in Canada one day, in Poland the day after and in Uzbekistan the third day and the IP is from a VPN, we block you.

Be careful, I am saying we block, not ban. It will be up to the FPK then to decide case per case.
In a future, I am thinking to implement this automatically, if you are changing nation or your IP comes from a known VPN you are blocked (something that services as Google does since ages).

I don't want to arrive to the limit that you have to check your mobile phone for a 2 step authentication.

Why this?

Mostly, to counter multis, it is really easy to play with 2 teams having 2 different browsers where one has an extension for IP hide. The game doesn't see that, stars don't appear as IPs are different.

Now the question and as well the poll. Would it be for you so uncomfortable this? I am telling again, this is just for limit cases, when we detect too many "strange" things on the IP.
The ban is NOT a direct consequence, consequence would be a temporary block in order to understand what's going on.

I fear I didn't explain myself that good, so if you have questions, ask!

Lots of votes going one side.

Think also for yourself, if in your environment, school/work whatsoever, you are using VPNs and you may get bored about this ;)

btw check "Amateurteam": is it "clean" or not?

For me what is written here should be used already to identify multi teams...

Will open a dedicated thread to define this rule, will probably need some help with translations ;)
