Giro d'Italia 2026

Hi,

Tuk, Hansa and myself will start designing the Giro, if that's ok.
Stage 1 is already close to finished, but just like last year there will be a regular IS and a Red Bull km. Can you do this manually, Gip, or is there a way for us to include this?

Stage 1 looks like this so far, still have to check the final kms, but went based of the gpx retrieved from the Strava profiles uploaded on the official Giro site:
(Still haven't figured out how to link the profile, sorry)
Image

Please let me know if it's set correctly. As you can see I just put a Label over the Red Bull km for now. Will now finish the rest of the profile by checking the climb profiles and last kms.

Cool and yes, you can do it if you set the Project to "Grand Tour".

Just a hint for the profile code: they are unique over all past and future races, so best include the year in the name, giro26stage1

Right click on the picture in the editor, copy url, Forum click on the little image icon, insert the URL. Forum noob  I believe in you

PS this is the worst way ever someone presenting a Profil

Done and added. One additional thought: like last year, guess the tour will not be shown as Italian in the calendar. Last year Albania, this year Bulgaria. Do we keep it like that? Or how do we change it to Italy?

Is there any way you can override it maybe and change it to the way you put it? Will use it from stage 2 on in any case.

Finished from my side for now. Added labels. Climbs are really non-existent, guess they just need to put KOMs on the stage to have a red jersey wearer. Kept the climbs like on the gpx, seems pretty accurate. Profile, done according to your guide this time:

Image

GENERAL QUESTION:
Last 3kms according to the Giro site:
Image
Seems like 1/-1/2 here, or at least closest to that. Original gpx said 0/1/1, but cut off a few 100m because the last gpx km isn't a full km, last km should definitely be a 2. 1/-1/2 the way to go here? Set it to that for now. 1/0/2 works too (looks more like the actual profile I must say), but then the height isn't right for the end. Summarising question: You prefer 1/-1/2 or 1/0/2 for the last 3 kms?

Thanks!

Interestingly, la flamme rouge says 0.4% for the final km :D

Is there any more info or just the image. Because on the image I cannot see any numbers.

At least it might give a hint on the exact finish line which can then be verified on LFR

Final should be 1 / -1 / 2, you up to 21meters in 3 km things are clear. If you have a doubt with the profile don't verify with the profile of LFR which can be weong but with the official roadmap if it is available on Giro website

I can change it in the database

Please do :). Guess stage is done after that, will keep 1/-1/2 for the final kms, so without any additional feedback, the profile from my previous message is final.

Why exactly is it not possible to edit this by the users themself? It's not like its the index of the table itself. Is there another technical reason?

It's a unique key, but not the primary one. The main reason was that the profile pictures are also named with the profileCode. Technically it would be possible (some effort because of the multiple places).

Stage 1 finished then. Thanks Alk.

Stage 2:
Image
Lyaskovets Pass desribed on official Giro site, should be accurate to what we have here. Other 2 passes earlier in the stage: No profiles to be found after a short search. Kept the gpx now, which matches the Strava profiles/slopes.

Last 3km:
0*/6*/0

Image

Slopes should be accurate. As for the pavé, looks like this on both kms:
Image
Also important to note that is only a ~250m section in both kms. A little torn here between * or **. Any feedback welcome. For now * because only 250m and seems pretty easy.

Agree with this approach. Some might even argue no * at all in that case, but if Giro organisers flag it, they seem to think it is somehow relevant, so I think * is OK.

I think the effect between 6 and 6* is much more in C4f than in reality for a 250m pave so i wouldnt do pave there. On the flat km it should be fine

Would put no cobbles at all for this. It is short and mostly no impact how it is shown

My personal opinion from real-life experience: 6* feels like 8 (no pavé), just makes the climb harder. But maybe that was mainly because of my very low speed.

Stages 3 and 4 are up for review. Stages 1 and 2 are added in the race editor, but something went wrong when I tried to add stage 3, linked stage 2 again first to #3. Changed that, but ever since I get an error whenever I try to save anything in the race editor:

Technical Error

Error Code: 0
Error Message: Minute tact (130) starts after the race ends after km127

Don't have any 127km race or km130 mintact... Help please :)

Fixed itself, but couldn't do anything for about 10 minutes. Also stages kept cloning themselves^^

Any feedback welcome. First 4 stages now added into the race in the race editor, so unless there's anymore feedback these are final from my part.

Stage 20:

Stage 21:

Annoying finishing circuit with 8.5km length. Added a 0 after every 2nd lap to make up the extra distance. Final km on paper only a 1, but has a bit of a ramp at the end. To make up for it, I have set it as a 2 for now, but I'm open to discussions on that

3rd category: 9 - 4 - 2 - 1 (in-game 3)
4th category: 3 - 2 - 1 (in-game 4)

+ 1st category summit finish: 50 – 24 – 16 – 10 – 6 – 4 – 2 – 1 (in-game HCC)

Maximum amounts of points at the finish: 50 – 35 – 25 – 18 – 14 – 12 – 10 – 8 – 7 – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1
Medium amount of points at the finish: 25 – 18 – 12 – 8 – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1
Least amount of points at the finish: 15 – 12 – 9 – 7 – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1
The amount of points at the intermediate sprints for the maglia ciclamino is always the same: 12 – 8 – 5 – 3 – 1

(all same as last year if I see it correctly)
