Hi
Since a few days i try to create/design my own races. Hope one day i can help for big and real races.
Gipfelstürmer was my teacher and Luques did the rest. Thank you !
Just in learn-mode im at work (Just for fun) on a Fantasy Sicily Tour. (9 Stages)
Today i present you my first design, my first race/stage:
1a Tappa: Messina - Siracusa

- 1atappamessina_siracusa.png (4.85 KiB) Viewed 13310 times
I'll save this one in the Database and i hope to receive some feedback from the Pros !
Tomorrow i present the second stage.

Short comment:
1) You don't need to link the stages with an attachment, you can do it directly.
copy image location in the editor, gives you something like this
http://www.radsportfreaks.de/radsport/p ... 1535561097
Then put the picture thing
around it and:
2) Use recalculate elevation!
Then on the left under elevation you see the elevation your track has, under calc. elev. what it is at RSF. The automatic percentage calculation doesn't work perfectly.... for example you lose 4 meters for 10 km in a row, so in reality you'll be 40 meters lower, at RSF it will be 10 times 0, so you stay at the same elevation. So you need to correct those things by hand in the percentage column. "profil%" in the editor. In this stage above, you are below sea level quite a few times. Or at the mountain at km 93 you are at 194 meters. The track says 227... last km from 157 to 227 so exactly a 7, for some reason the autocalculation said 5... check for stuff like that, that you never deviate too much from reality.
3) A bit more information in the profile would be nice. Name of the climbs? If you don't know, no problem, put in nothing, but if you know, better to put in the name of the pass. Same for intermediates
4) Starting city: Don't write it at km 1, as you can see then it looks like it's out of the profile... of course it's not cut off, you still can see it, but nicer if it's all on the right of the vertical line. (But ok, not too important really)
For the rest looks all nice, most important thing IMO number 2! Recalculate elevation.
And it's a bit a "waste" to make this tour, since a 9 day tour has really little chance to be ridden (unless you put it in the december tour competition and it wins). Ok, it's just for practice, no problem. But why not make some one day races too? Even if just for practice, they could be used anyway, if possible after some little corrections (use recalculate elevation!)
Otherwise can't think of anything right now... welcome designing and have fun!

I worked on the first stage... for real there are many elevation mistakes.
But.... it seems like on Km 152 we are really under Sea level !

Very nice for a first tour I think. If you follow Roby's advice, you can create some great races.
Your Sicily Tour, you can use for the December Competition if you like. Other than that, one day races and really short tours of 3-5 stages have best chances to make it into the race calendar. This is because fantasy races are mainly put between real life races. However, good timing to create some races now before the winter season where fantasy races are really needed.

What is this new fashion of using the climb categories as numbers for counting the hills ?
Circuit looks nice, but surprised by the flat km at the top, and I like the small hill in the middle of the downhill

Well, i think in a one day race the categories are not importan. My idea was to give more money at the first hill to have an aggressive start in the race.

New one !
Designed a 4 day Tour at Hawai.
The start is easy and we should have a sprint.
Princeville-Kekaha (105 Km.)
Careful, possible Sieb at Km. 70.
***************************************************************************************************************************************************
Stage 2: Honolulu - Honolulu (169 Km.)
Another flat one but we can gain a lot of time with intermediate sprints. Maybe yellow by a rider who wins the intermediate sprints ? Open...
Last 5 Km. 0/-1/4/-3/0
**************************************************************************************************************************************************
Stage 3: Flat....but....there is "something" in the middle of the race ! Go for red ? Go for yellow ?
Kailua Kona - Hilo (164 Km.)
******************************************************************************************************************************************************
Last stage... something must decide this Tour of Hawai ! There is a HC mountain...but than ? Enough time to come back ?
At you to ride...
Stage 4: Hilo - Kailua Kona (200 Km.)
Cat 1: Km 99-114: 3/5/4/3/5/1/6/3/3/6/7/5/5/3/1/3
Last climb: Km 189-192: 1/5/6/2
******************************************************************************************************************************************************

Greetings to Zürich, the great Canton where Donkeys are on average more intelligent than humans!
2 things, old things, just hadn't really noticed before.
1. Why not add your name, or an abbreviation of it under designer. That thing that appears on the left top, RKL for example for Donkey stuff. Nice to know who is responsible for the great race or abomination that we ride!
2. YOU, only YOU are responsible for the stream of outraged users that will flood the forum on the 9th. Complaining about their finances that disappeared. Reason: New York (Little Italy). in the title of the race, no special characters, only numbers, normal english letters, no ä ü ö, é à etc. No parenthesis. No commas I think. No points, but ":" is ok. not the quatation marks, the thing in between. Normally I would have corrected it and left an angry abusive message here, but the editor right now is sort of in hospital, awaiting treatment, stuff that usually works isn't, changing profiles. Maybe it would have worked to avoid the bug if I still had done it, even if the old profile would have appeared, but thought fuck it. The bug is easily corrected nowadays, just run a script some programming wizard told me. But still, no more ( ) in the race title anymore!
3 You saved it as newyork(littleitaly). Here too if I remember correctly, only normal letters, small not capitalized (correct there) except _ no special characters. Seems to work anyway, but probably best avoided in the future anyway.
