15th December. I am on time. Wooohoo.

Some thoughts:


January Tour: Arakan Tour. Now 11 days instead of 13. Did OL already mention which days to be cut? And was there a wish for a particular time? Otherwise I put 4 editions but different times than December Tour to be fair.

TDU: Early this year. First stage race. 4 editions seems logical. Times can be discussed.

Valenciana / Besseges: We had 2 editions each last year. I think Valenciana could have 3 this year (more active teams than last year this time) and it's higher category than Besseges.

Mallorca Challenge: First relevant one-day-races of the year. 5 editions during the week and 4 editions on weekend still the equilibrium? I think so.

Cyclocross: Selected the 4 races in which all of the big three (MVDP, VanAert, Pidcock) have announced their participation. 2 editions when there is a parallel stage race. 3 editions when there is no parallel stage race and it's during the week. Probably no Cyclocross in February then, except maybe the World Championships in the Czech Republic.

Designing real tours is a bit different. More time needed for finding information, checking percentages and bonifications. You can post your design in this thread and then others can comment/help.

Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race exact same route as the one i drew for this year, also climbs and sprints at same spots as last year

Mallorca Challenge races (all gpx on website):
Calvia same as last year
Ses Salines seems to be a new one
Serra Tramuntana shifted a bit comared to last year, less flat in beginning, but some extra flat after last climb/downhill
Andratx new course
Trofeo Palma same as last year except 8 more completely flat km added to the finish

i could start with the new courses of Mallorca Challenge tomorrow, would be great if someone could assign (a copy of) last years profile for Trofeo Palma to me

Feedback would be nice, the Menglers Hill is 78 m Ascent with an average of 3.8 % but with a max of 14 %.
I made it now with 3% and 5%, seems for me the best way but feel free to correct me.

I got the gpx by email, but they are kinda trash. so, I redrew the final kms when needed, but did not re-do the whole race everytime.

You asked for a little feedback.

You can rename the stage to give a nice name without the '_'

About Menglers Hill, it's not easy, as it's a quite irregular climb.
I just checked the details of the climb, and from its really bottom (before Angaston), I'd draw something like : 1/1/3/2/2/0/1/3/0/6
6% at the end because the last km seems a lot steeper (with 250 near 12%), but that's only my interpretation; in fact most sprinters wouldn't be dropped there, so 5% is totally fine to me too. The rest is irregular but quite flatish (the steep sections are really short).
It's not easy to design such climbs

Can be 9 riders, no problem.

Explanation: Each recurring event has a pre-specified number of riders. That's usually the number shown in the PDF (unless I change it manually). For real races and off-season classics it makes life easier because it is normally the same every year. Only for Dec- & Jan-Tour it is different, because it's designer choice and can change from year to year.

The tag is not 100% ideal for that, because the database cannot know the name and number of riders for Dec and Jan Tour. But I would suggest to keep the tag even for Dec and Jan Tour, because it allows us to have the race history (I included that for the December Tour now with full history 2009 until today).

Very early this time (because of Christmas Holidays and January seems uncontroversial so far).

All unchanged, except Jan Tour 9 riders.

a few climb categorizations were left out and replaced by other and IS also moved and were added



Trofeo Palma
roadbook shows a few new IS and no cat4 at km21 like 2023, but instead one later, also added 8 more flat km


those were the easier ones, other ones following next few days, maybe one more today
