starting early with real race design, doing TDU now, editing this post as the stages get finished
Prologue
Image
ITT
mintact km 1

Stage 1
Image
first climb of Menglers Hill is from a different direction that only meets near the top, so different percentages for that one, after that it is a circuit, no sieb km in whole race
flat
mintact 128

Stage 2
Image
even tho it says flat, the Cat1 climb is 5, 10
flat
mintact 126

Stage 3
Image
categorization is hilly, but will probably be won by climbers with a 9, 10 at 110, 111 and light downhil afterwards
hilly
mintact 108

Stage 4
Image
1, 2, 3 finish
flat
mintact 120

Stage 5
Image
circuit race, first climb is different as it only joins the lap near the very top of the climb, during lap it is a 3, 4, 2, 2, 2, 2, 8, 3 with the mountain points on the +8
hilly
mintact 94

I like that we have 20h for Tours back.

But i am not sure we want to offer overlapping tours one at 19 the other at 20h.

For me its fine thats my 2 favorite times but i just wanted to discuss if thats what we really want to offer.

I don't see a problem with overlapping tours for one day. I would probably rather take part in both than miss out on one of them. But that's my personal problem if it came to that.
****EDIT****
I realised San Juan is no fantasy tour, so nevermind :D
***END EDIT***

But I would like to take the chance and address the number of races per day. During the January Tour (4x) you are currently planning 4 more one-day races with 4 time slots. Do we have enough teams that this is realistic, especially on weekends, or shouldn't we reduce to max. 7 or maybe 6 races?

exact same setup as Dec Tour, one one-day race every day with 4 timeslots, no issue for Dec Tour

did some checking: nothing yet on San Juan, nothing on Mallorca Challenge, nothing yet on Marseille, Cadel Evans seems to have a wrong route on Flamme Rouge since this year they seem to have reversed the direction of the outside loop

GP Sven Nys
Image
Profile: http://www.radsportfreaks.de/radsport/p ... =gpsvennys
Lap: +2** -2** +2 -2**
Description: This course is characterized by a lot of up and down as they basically ride around a small hill on the cycling center of Sven Nys in Baal, Belgium. Typically, the whole course consists out of deep deep mud, except for the little hill in the middle of the course, which is on asphalt.

Min-Tact: km1
Duration: 36min

Vlaamse Duinencross
Image
Profile: http://www.radsportfreaks.de/radsport/p ... uinencross
Lap: 0 +3* -3* +2* -2
Description: Vlaamse Duinencross starts on a flat, asphalted road, but then it goes straight into the dunes with a really steep, sandy hill, where riders can hardly ride, but have to walk. So +3* seems realistic there. Then it goes up and down, up and down, lots of sand and then we end on the asphalt again.

Type: Flat
Min-Tact: km1
Duration: 35min

22.01.: Flandriencross
Image
Profile: http://www.radsportfreaks.de/radsport/p ... driencross
Lap: +1* -1** +1** -1* 0
Description: The Flandriencross starts and ends on a flat road. It's quite short, so I doubted to put it as a 0, but ok... can put the 0 as it is a relatively long course overall (I rounded up from 4.1km to 5km ^^). The course is characterized by a lot of mud and grass. In the middle there is a smal hill, where they go up, down, up, down, up down... difficult to simulate that in C4F, but I thought the -1** +1** is fair enough.

Type: Flat
Min-Tact: km1
Duration: 41min

Mallorca Challenge has an official website now. It seems like all 5 tracks are different from last year. Some small changes (Trofeo Calvia same hills but 5kms shorter). Some bigger ones (Trofeo Palma without a hill in the end).
I think I can draw it this weekend.

when i checked, it had the website, but everything was still the 2022 stuff, now it has the 2023 stuff and even has openrunner routes for every race, so can just import the official gpx files into the editor

Mallorca:
You could check old editions too, possibly some re-use the route from earlier years.

I won't be designing anything until the 9th of January.. just general info.

Will finish Dow Under tomorrow (or technically today) and then draw Cadel Evans manually as i doubt that Flamme Rouge will fix their route.
But the official website has a very nice interactice map, so should be pretty easy to draw.

No complaints or needs to change anything if I saw all correctly. So think we can regard the PDF as final.

Will try to put some races online tomorrow.

Vuelta San Juan has some maps of the stages on their website, but not very detailed and no information about climb categories and sprints at all, this year there is no TT in it but there is a rest day before the mountain stage

didn't find anything about Marseille

Online:

Available real races
Offseason classics
January Tour
Cross
Races until the 10th

CHECK EVERYTHING!

January tour stage 1+2 cut, thought was in a thread, was a PM, took me ages to check there.... I didn't rename the stages, normally would, (or tell the designer to do it) but not enough time, holidays...

WEird times for Atlas and Down Under, same 19-22, no idea what I was thinking when making the proposal, but nobody else was thinking either it seems...

Anyway, check everything, mistakes even likelier than usual!

Doubt I will put more online before the end of the month, next update most likely on the 9th of January. (right now nothing to put online anyway as far as I know) (Ah, one TTT, don't plan on a 1 day TT, 2 kind of hilly pavé plus cross, don't plan on more pavé either. )

didn't find any Roby mistakes, only one designer error because of Pave + climb category on Sanma cycling Cup

San Juan profiles are now on Flamme Rouge, but without any sprints or mountain categories, summary for form settings in case anyone wants to set form for it:

22nd: 2018 stage 6 with last 3 km cut
23rd: 2020 stage 4 but reversed and 12 pretty flat km added to the end
24th: no reference in older editions, flat stage with a few +2 and +3 near the finish, 175km total
25th: no reference in older editions, flat stage with a pretty long double hill ending at km 88, one or two sieb km in that double hill, but 110 flat km to go after that
26th: RESTDAY
27th: standard San Juan queen stage, 173km this time
28th: no reference in older editions, flat stage with one tiny 3% hill with 100km to go, 138km total
29th: standard final stage circuit, but only 7 instead of 9 times, so only 112 km

NO ITT

I will change it in the database after my stage. We also saw issues at today's cross race with -3*

Have changed the km 145 of Stage 11 (from -3* to -3) and km 111/112 of Stage 8 (from -3* to -3)

Should be fine now, for the best I know it is just buggy at -3 if it is buggy at -2 too please tell me, think there is at least one -2* there too

design rules for Andes and such are no pave on -3 and steeper, Cyclocross races in december with -2** were also fine i believe

Yep, -2 was ok so far.

Races on till next Monday, check as usual.
The criterium for Down Under in on the 15th, seems on the 14th in reality, but we have a rsf winter classic there...

Back home now, so can design again too, but right now not eager to design San Juan, maybe next week... if somebody else feels like it, go for it.
