MIT of course not as cool as Humuhumunukunukuapuaa, but I think it deserves 5 editions, not only 4. For example 9-14-19-21-23. Why? Shorter tour, so potentially more teams interested. Also, no parallel tour, so it might actually have more teams interested than Humuhumunukunukuapuaa.

Similar for San Juan as it is a real world race. Can have 4 or even 5 times, especially if you move Festival of Cycling between MIT and San Juan and not parallel, which is another suggestion from my side. Then it can be 5x MIT, 4x Festival of Cycling, 5x San Juan.

14 h is perfect for the MIT-Tour, like it!
I would also be happy to ride San Juan at 14/15h. 9+14+18+21 is absolutely possible IMO.

MIT 4 or 5 editions:

Last year the Philippines had 38 participants, this year Humuhumunukunukuapuaa 39 (if the thing is correct and I added correctly)

So I'd stick with 4 to be honest. Even if I think generally we have better participation than we had last year, one day races seem to have more participants than a year ago.

January last year then we had 30 participants with 4 editions. Again, we seem to have a bit more participation than a year ago, but is it enough to go back to 5 like we had 2 years ago? Not sure, that's why I'd say 4 sounds good, but 5 might indeed work.

San Juan, yeah, more than 3 seems ok. Being parallel with the festival, I'd say 4, not 5.

Ah, the festival you say? Come on, we want the real replacement, then let's stick to the real dates, even if it's a highly unimportant race. 2 of them actually, San Juan isn't important either.

And in the end it's a bit a question of balance too, don't make artificial perfect lines for those that like to/want/can ride stage races. Making the points difference between stage racers and one day racers artificially bigger. Choose! If you ride the Austrlian festival, can't ride the Argentinian thing.

If we had decided to completely drop Down Under, but go for a complete fantasy tour anywhere, 6 days or so, then yes, of course we make sure they don't overlap, one is fantasy, but in the end I think we all agreed that going for this festival was the best solution. Then let's stick with reality. I'm still unhappy about the 1 day postponement of Dauphiné we had this year..... so of course I'm clearly against bringing forward a stage race now.

For one day races can live with it easier, so if somebody wants to propose Marseille or the last Mallorca thing on the 1st of February, that ok, why not, think that date is free.... if it has to be, can do, I'm even giving the hint here.... (But still prefer to keep it where it is) But stage races? Real dates or if too many at one time, drop.

Lets keep real dates for real races. Not move them at all.

Or let's do a poll and let's see what the community prefers between having 2 tours in a row or having San Juan // of Australia.

That's a choice. Only the poll decides.

Oh, seems I was too fast there. Sorry.

Of course real race on real date. Tbh, didn't realize it is a real race (even if we discussed in length before :D). Cat1 just always looks like fantasy.

So MIT x5 and San Juan x4 I'd suggest.

18/19/20th sounds good for Rsf Classics, better than putting them parallel to tours.

Some video about stage 1 and 2 on their twitter feed.

Stage one seems to finish on what probably is the same hill that was in 4 times last year in stage 1. No guarantee it's from the same side of course.
3-8 no info yet.

Actually parallel to tours sounds better. Give those that don't ride tours some goal, as small as it might be, as well.

And about festival of cycling (21/01-24/01) :

https://tourdownunder.com.au/2021-event/race

Stage 1 : seems flat with some light hills. The final will mayve be similar of Tour Down Under stage 1 in 2020.
Stage 2 : well I don't really, sseems there is gravel then one climb then the finish line, but probably not really hard.
Stage 3 : Willunga Hill finish so hilly / for climbers.
Stage 4 : Flat

I just paid attention at Marseillaise + Palma + San Juan the 31/01. Not a fan of races with only 2 times

Ok, Luques has updated the PDF, look there for changes. MIT 5 editions, San Juan 4.

I'll start putting stuff online later today.

There will be at least 2 more changes to the PDF

Times, parallel to MIT:
GP de Papeete: 10-15-19-22
Hobart HIlls 10-15-17-20-22

Right now 18-21 same as the January tour clearly not ideal. Newest PDF will be on later today according to Luques.
Other changes don't know...

So both big tours not at the favorite time of 22:00 h?? Dont like that. At least one should be at the probably most favorite time?

Hope it is a trade for later when the important races come up. Giro + TDF 22!! :)

PD: Why the sudden change? Now have to change all my rider's form again.

Sudden change? First PDF online, then feedback, that was 4 times San Juan, 5 times MIT, so sent 2 new proposals to Luques, 4 times San Juan in both, and MIT 4 or 5 times up to Luques to decide.

New PDF on late, yes, 2 problems,
1)I first sent it to myself instead of to Luques  On the 22nd, then finally realized the mistake and sent it to Luques on the 26th in the afternoon..
2) It then took Luques another 2 days probably late evening 28th was on.

Times, MIT seems clear, after the Dec tour at 18-20-22 here 21-23 seemed logic. then not 19 but 18 again, a 3 hour break better.
San Juan indeed not perfect though, 19-22 better than 18-21. As well because 3 times 18 never 19 is not perfect at all either. Didn't think that far when making the second proposal, sorry.

But 22 the most popular time? 21 is there too, I see them as roughly equally popular.

Online:

1 day races: First week, c4f classics (Papeete and Hobart with the times written above, NOT PDF as it is right now, Luques said he'll update the PDF.. at some point...), pavé race, Trofeo Calvia. Rest of Mallorca should come tomorrow, should have enough time to design that.

Trofeo Calvia

Tours:
All except San Juan and FEstival, not enough information to be found there yet.

Still needs to be designed:

Mallorca Challenge should be finished tomorrow.
Gravel and Tar seems new route, but couldn't find anything useful
Marseille didn't check. but don't know what Luq will decide either, 31st January or 1st February

Mallorca finished.
Trofeo Palma the track and the rutometro didn't fit, rutometra was 12 or so km shorter, tried to adapt the mountains and sprints to the longer track....

Festival of cycling. GPM I put everything as cat 4 as there is no particular info about it. For Stage 4 it is one hour + one lap I consider like 60 laps + 1 lap.
